You sure? That's my wife's M3LR updating to 2024.8.7.

My wife's M3LR got 2024.8.7 a week or so ago, and immediately TeslaMate was showing offline instead of asleep. My MYLR got the same update 2 days ago and shows "asleep" as usual. Only difference that I know of is the M3LR has the Atom processor whereas the MYLR is Ryzen.

I got a response from the PowerWall support people last week: So not much help in the end. I suspect this will just end up in a game of pass the buck.

It would be, if councils weren't forced to turn half them off and dim the rest due to lack of money...

Let us know how you get on, and also how you got it enabled! Not that it's cost-effective just now with Octopus' 15p/kWh export rate, but it'll be a useful feature to keep in reserve for when/if the good times end. I'm ready:

I doubt car wakeup is intentional here. When it first started, my car (MYLR) would be the one to wake up whenever I checked the app's energy screen. Now, however, it's my wife's car (M3LR) which wakes up. Mine stays asleep. There's likely some pattern which I've yet to find. Perhaps whichever...

Yes (another UK PowerWall owner here). Although it only wakes up my car and not my wife's, even though both are in my app.

That would work, but the charge rate would be limited to around 1.7 kW. Best set your alarm for 5.30am (assuming you're on the Octopus Intelligent tariff) to turn it back down!

They all seem to do that when first installed. It should sort itself out in a day or two.

I agree that more visibility on what changes between versions would be good. The last mention of PW2 firmware in the release notes were for March 2023, version 23.4: "Improved performance in cold weather for Powerwall systems".

I'd say it's worth contacting Tesla support for the old FW version issue alone. I'm in the UK and on 23.36.3, updated on Dec 20, 2023. I've yet to see my PW2 throttle its overnight charge rate based on temperature this winter, but it's located in the garage so somewhat sheltered from the lowest...

Thing is, our daily usage is a wee bit higher than one PW can cover from an overnight charge. So if there's anything left by late evening, it came from our solar panels, just deferred by a few hours. :cool:

Raises hand. Solar has picked up a smidge now, so more days where PW is a bit more likely to have surplus charge by late evening. No point letting it go to waste, so I switch PW's Energy Exports setting to "Everything" at around 9-10pm to earn a few more pennies. PW does a decent job of...

Dire here too. 93.1 kWh for December 2023, compared to 180.5 kWh December 2022. PVWatts estimate for the month is 172 kWh. Oh well, here's hoping 2024 gets off to a better start. On that note, lang may yer lum reek!

Yup. Powerwall export is set to Solar Only at all other times. Yup. Meter is working fine for imported energy. App doesn't show graphs for Outgoing Octopus 12M Fixed. They have our export MPAN, so I fail to see how they're not able to get the export readings.

Anyone else had an issue with Octopus not recognising exported energy during those sessions? We've just had our points awarded for the Nov 29 session; about £2.86 in total, which reflects what we saved, not what we exported, which should've been around £19 worth. Called Octopus, who claimed...
