How can I receive a "Referral link" without a major purchase?

I was asking for suggestions, like asking someone at Tesla to make more products eligible for RC. Not a post about something obvious.

How can I receive a "Referral link" without a major purchase?

I have a number of friends who are curious to serious about Tesla products. At the moment I do not have one due to financial limits (looking at 3Q2024 possible) I am wondering if there is ways to get the Referral Code, even temporarily, and pass it around that day. Maybe a Demo Drive will give...

It will be the one that offers the lowest operating cost, shape is meaningless. Probably will see the Short Sherpa return in electric version for short haul flights. This design is perfect for a conversion.

    Electric planes

Ever consider why passenger aircraft are a tube is because it is the best design for a pressure vessel? There are plenty of non circular fuselage designs that worked just fine. @Earl showed great examples. Another great example it is for pressure the fuselage is round. Boeing 377...

That is a concern, but ways to reduce that could be possible. At least for cargo work this is viable and a step to profitable BEP

    Electric planes

Another mostly composite aircraft was built before Starship, and failed to go into production, the Lear Fan. The major issue I read was FAA wanted much more data on the new composite design than expected (there are piles of tested parts at the old factory in Reno, NV. Raytheon encountered...

    Electric planes

My take: The biggest issue with an BEP is internal volume for the large amount of batteries it will need. Current tube planes create challenges to make this work. I propose a flying wing easily has the internal volume, performance, strength, and plenty of real world data to verify. Fact: you...

    Electric planes

Bad design, not commercially viable. My counters to each point 1. While you can put some batteries in the wings, it will be impossible to put enough in there. Alternatively is a wing design to have big hatches for a larger area to put batteries in, which makes the wing heavier and reduces...

CO2/warming correlation - how to respond?

ALBEDO https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albedo Did not know the word for this measurement. Albedo is Latin for "whiteness" (no surprise it is related to word Albino).
  14. MontyFloyd

CO2/warming correlation - how to respond?

That image which is a dumbed down mass produced in many iterated versions fails in messaging, and is easy to prove wrong: If the energy going down to earth is same as reflected back, then the CO2 in atmosphere would actually stop the energy getting to earth surface to begin with, resulting in...

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

I am simply pointing out that ICE is not immune from very low temp impact. And icy weather will magnify issues on cars with poor power management (including drain from security and keyless entry systems). FYI: as lead-acid battery drains some of the acid is converted into water, reducing the...

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

ICE: Lead acid batteries can freeze/die in extreme cold if not 100% charged or are old. Oil is thick, slowing the starter motor, could prevent start. Fuel will not evaporate as easily, rough operation (mainly a carburetor engine issue) Ice building up in throttle body choking the engine when...

CO2/warming correlation - how to respond?

That is false, politics have LITTLE to do with building those items, it is mainly NIMBY and economics. And even Hydro is not safe as a base power given how extreme weather can impacts those. The best solution is a good mix of sources with storage. Heck, even a water heater as a Thermal battery...

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

So the Tax POS credit is designed for dealerships to pass credit to customer. Will this "Dealership method" work with other incentive programs? Texas has one, but it too requires a dealership.

Possible the Model 3 Highland eligible for $7500 purchase tax rebate in future? I see only 2 versions, no $7500 except for Lease (not willing to do that) May there be a 3ed version? Any idea why it lost the eligibility? Guessing its battery material source. Thanks

    BEV chargers with Ethernet connection.

Again you are in error, and describe it erroneously as well. This is the facts: Both are Radio in every sense of the word, this an absolute term with zero distinction on types. Radio is using the electromagnet spectrum as the transport media. There is subsets of Analog Radio which has...

    BEV chargers with Ethernet connection.

Negative, it is not the same. Anyone in IT knows. Latency The time between data entering a device and leaving it. For example, a switch may add 5ms of latency Delay The one-way time it takes for traffic to leave the sender and arrive at the destination So the time it takes for packet from...

    BEV chargers with Ethernet connection.

Mounting a wifi router right next to a EVSE only strengths the need to get rid of the wifi. Apparent it is not obvious, the packet level I am talking about is encapsulating the Ethernet packets into Wifi packets that include CRC / checksum data, which is then transmitted. Wifi does not need to...

As I posted, there are times when Wireless is justified (mobile or semi-mobile equipment of course, or extremely hard to mount items), but for fixed devices it is far better to be wired.

    BEV chargers with Ethernet connection.

You misunderstood, If other systems were slow or stopped working (eg: fuel dispensing, or even a minute of power grid failure), people would complain, very few like you would troubleshoot and fix it if possible. Also this is not about latency but delays. As Kyle from Out Of Spec keeps saying...

Who can catch Tesla ? They seem to be experiencing exponential growth…..

New car sales in US. Seeing the latest pull back by most car mfg in US, I will up it to end of 2028. It seems the Legacy companies finally realized it was much harder than expected, putting on brakes to ramp up.

    BEV chargers with Ethernet connection.

There is long list of reasons NOT to go wireless. Lets put it this way: If you went to a EV station or gas station and it was not working you would complained. If you app froze or crashed you would be pissed. But if your wireless was slow or went offline for a few minuets you would be like "no...

    BEV chargers with Ethernet connection.

Is there a list of EV chargers that have Ethernet connection included? Ethernet is infinitely more reliable than Wireless, the effort to run a wire is often cheaper and defiantly saves money in long run. The challenge is finding chargers that have Ethernet, as the vender typically focus on the...

Who can catch Tesla ? They seem to be experiencing exponential growth…..

It is expected some will always say bad things about opponents to "their team" (as can be seen with the resents wars to a despicable level) Remove the names and product info and show an investor the numbers, all will say this is an excellent investment.

That is a bullcrap prediction. I bet it does not even factor the used BEV market. My prediction is about 2027 sales of BEV will = ICE. California is already at 25% of new car sales.

Hosting Tesla (Super)Charger, the offer and expense.

I was thinking only a NACS, maybe CCS1 if there is extra capacity. Most customers will likely be there for an hour. I did suggest the port could be shut off at night. Politics - Quarantine Thread

The far right hate BEV's. BEV's are seen as the weapon of a "liberal" agenda, forced to buy something far more expensive than typical ICE (that's recently changing), with very short range (not true), made in China (except for small amount of batteries, false), Union-busting (nope), and spying on...
