Regarding battery charging, I have a perhaps a dumb question: when charging is the 12v battery also charged? Or must the car be moving? There must be a DC-DC converter somewhere in the car to eliminate the need for an alternator...yes?

I must agree; even with the added motor it is, well less sluggish. That being said perhaps their target market might not care about acceleration....think original beetle.

Q4 seems like a very nice car; the issue for me is the range: 241 mi on the AWD version. Other than that seems to have all the bells and whistles.

..and there is the Polestar 3 coming as well...I believe about the same price range as the GV60 and the GV70(?) Not to mention the Audi Q4 50 AWD - going to be lots of choices next year.

Hmm, I am considering the MYLR among other EVs and I must say that the one trepidation I have is the ride quality. Has anyone heard of any potential factory remedy coming, or will it be on the individual to find one?

Interesting perspective; I have read that it is recommended a day or two before delivery (you will have VIN) to walk around and identify any issues that need to be addressed and documented.

Actually, I currently drive a 300GLC small SUV, and its a great car...I can understand why its MBs best seller. Its best characteristic is how it rides..just can't beat it....so when I took a MY for a test drive I was not ready for the quality of the MY's ride.....can't have it all.

What is surprising is as I read through the above suggestions, only one person mentioned the harsh the ride quality. It seems that there are quite a few threads on this forum about what shocks, springs, etc, etc to get to improve the ride.....wonder why....a disconnect?

I totally agree; Ford knows that they have significant catch-up to do. The good and bad news is that they have 100+ years of experience = inertia. They don't have the 'luxury' of starting with a clean slate; they must overcome tons of NIH mentality and too much in the parts bin that 'always...
