Barnsley SC appears to have a problem with both chargers. It has only 2 x v2 chargers and I was there this evening, arriving with 2% so expecting a fast charge as there was no other vehicle to share with. Only got 65kW max on one charger and so at 20% moved to the other thinking it was an...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

People regularly report that when there is a light update that the car may self-level and if on a slope there are often reports of issues that then need to be recalibrated when on level ground. Not speaking from personal experience so can't vouch for it. I just mentioned it because it is your...

You will know if you have a signal as the wifi will show green. If it is downloading then you are ok. Once downloaded it will invite you to install on the app or in the car. Only do so when you are parked and not needing the car for 30-40 mins. Also park on level ground if possible. The car...

    Retrieve Old Error Codes

Tesla have a "car wash" mode that the car should have been in and should show in the vehicle data. For example see here: https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/model3/en_us/GUID-65384C1F-86F2-44E8-A8BC-8A12E7E00A40.html

New Tesla showroom in Belfast and SC issues

Was at the Belfast SC yesterday where one charger (out of 4) was not working and was blocked off with cones. Unfortunately the car and app still showed all four working so everyone could see "1 available", however there were at times 3 vehicles queuing whilst I was there! Talking to the staff...

See my earlier post of a few weeks ago, I visited on 17 Feb to check. It looked as if all that was required was to connect them...

Dashcam - help me understand its use

I used to have it set to “save on honk” but changed it after watching a video where a user encountered a problem. You want it to record an incident as your record for evidence. If you set the navigation to that location that is one of things that it already does. What might be useful is to set an arrival % power remaining. That is what I work out using ABRP when it is important.

You got the answer to the question you asked - but perhaps you actually asked the wrong question! :D There is a way to set a maximum speed that the car can travel at - details in the manual. There is not a way to set a variable speed limiter - as you are used to in the Merc by a push in on...

    Any advice for Ireland Roadtrip?

Wrong way round. Teslas use CCS2, which is standard throughout all of Europe. It is not the CCS1 used by a few vehicles in the USA. Think of it like NACS, which will soon be the standard in the North America region. Although we have had CCS2 as standard for all EV’s Throughout europe for many...

Hertz in the US discontinueing Tesla's from Fleet

I wouldn't be so sure this alone will be responsible. Hertz acknowledge that their Uber partnership of leasing Teslas is successful and is expanding. There will be a demand for these cars for taxis as they will be good for another 200,000 miles at least! They will also be very affordable 2nd...

Hertz in the US discontinueing Tesla's from Fleet

The car rental business model of old is different and Hertz have not coped with the disruption- so are going back to the old ways. They have traditionally bought fleet level stock at a discount and run it for a year and sold at “normal” second hand prices. That was a profitable side of the...

I think the only significant change for you is that when on AP/EAP you can now turn the wipers off, where previously they were on Auto if AP was engaged and could dry wipe or manic wipe on a whim.

You can’t cancel it, but if your destination is not set as the SC but 10 feet to the left of it then the car won’t precondition. I regularly travel to hotels that have SC’s. I want the nav and traffic info to the destination, so set the destination as the hotel and not the SC.

Just had first drive, auto lane change with EAP now has the “apply slight turning force” warning to commence the manoeuvre in a more prominent font and it seems to me to be less turning force required, whereas previously it might on occasions take sufficient force to disengage EAP.
