Hankook ION EVO AS SUV - Model Y Tire Review

I felt the same way when I was shopping, these tires really don't have many first hand accounts. That's why I decided to write up a review. I'm curious how the 20s with the shorter sidewalls will handle in comparison. I had PS AS3 on a prior car and the sidewall stiffness was noticeable...

Hankook ION EVO AS SUV - Model Y Tire Review

Same. The 50K mileage warranty isn't industry leading but we'll see how they wear. I replaced the stock Conti's at 34K. Hoping for >40K out of the Hankooks.

Hankook ION EVO AS SUV - Model Y Tire Review

Build is Sep/Oct '21 with dual pain front windows. Back seat, door pockets, and trunk are all plastic where the new ones come with more carpet to absorb road noise. If you read the fine print on the tires marketing material, the quoted decrease in road noise is based on another one of their...

Hankook ION EVO AS SUV - Model Y Tire Review

First 500 Miles – 245wh/mi + 825 mile Road Trip – 288wh/mi Vehicle Lifetime - 258wh/mi (stock tires 34K miles) TLDR: Good tires, more comfort, less performance Efficiency This is a hard category to compare, especially with so few miles. With that said, I averaged 245 wh/mi over the first 500...

Supercharger - Fort Mill, SC - Carolina Place

Fence is down. Waiting on the meter. Beyond that, they look ready to turn on. For those passing through, Empire pizza is a decent local pizza place. Also, this is a 12 stall installation. Supercharge.info currently has it listed as 8.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - 1111 Metropolitan Avenue

Great views with lots of things to do only an elevator ride away *during the day*. Only complaint about this charger is its location. Very much an "in town" option for folks. Given the traffic and roof top location, I wouldn't recommend detouring off 77 during a road trip when passing through...

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

Stopped on my way through DC. Everything worked great. J-1772 are currently free and 40amp at ~235v.

Not seeing this on the navigation yet. Anyone care to screenshot the pricing?

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

Thank you sir, great update. Glad to hear the j1772 is working. Any fee to charge on those? Also, what was the kwph on the j1772?

This is crazy, any updates here? I stopped by in May ‘22 and constructions was complete. What’s the hold up?

    Supercharger - Matthews, NC

    No signs of work yet.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd

Went by this afternoon and 5 cars were charging while Tesla Energy worked one of the stalls. Nav said that one stall was out of order which made sense given the Tesla guy. Same pricing as Toringdon but in a V3.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd

Quick update from this weekend. The transformer in the third picture is not the one for the supercharger. There is now a pad for a new transformer which is currently empty. That appears to be the limiting factor at this point. The cabinets and posts work looks complete and ready to go.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd

Cabinets and parking signs are now up. Not sure if they’re leveraging a transformer thats already there or installing a new one?

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd

Quick update for the group. Progress is moving along nicely with 9 of the 12 posts installed. Conduit for the cabinets appears to be in place but the units themselves have not been installed yet.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd

Checked out the location last night. No progress which was expected. Although not perfectly aligned with US-74, this location is very easy to get on and off 485 from either direction. I’ll report back every once and a while with progress updates.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - Providence Rd

This is great to see. The 12 stall V2 down the road on Toringdon Way is always jammed. They just implemented time of day pricing to dissuade people from charging during peak times but I’m not sure it’ll help. This particular area of CLT is packed with Tesla vehicles.

    Supercharger - Fort Mill, SC

I noticed the same thing. Absolutely great pricing considering home charging costs me ~10 cents per kWH.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - 1111 Metropolitan Avenue

Drove around each floor of the Trader Joe’s parking garage and saw nothing. The top floor was closed and when i approached the ramp, a security guard got out of his car and started to head my way. I proceeded out of the garage but they didn’t seem very happy with me. I’m sure in their eyes I...

I miss spoke here about the design of the bike rack stalls. These are back in design but have the charging cords mounted along the side of the parking spot so that if you have something behind you, it doesn’t hit the chargers when backing in. This design could also be useful if they opened the...

    Supercharger - Fort Mill, SC

Trailer stall are at the end and are a pull in setup with a side mounted charging setup. These types of stalls are fairly common with most installs. Unfortunately, for particular SC, you will block the lane if you have a trailer. The “bike rack” stall as I’m calling them are pull in stalls or...

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

Thanks for checking it out! I’m heading through end of May and was really hoping to leverage this station but that’s looking unlikely. I’ll i can do is keep my fingers crossed.

Supercharger - Charlotte, NC - 1111 Metropolitan Avenue

I’ll hold judgement until I see the install but I’m assuming it’ll be in the Trader Joes garage which is always jammed with people. Next time I’m in the area I’ll go scout the location.

    Supercharger - Fort Mill, SC

Big update - The station is not turned on but the install is complete and power meter is installed. I would anticipate these going live very soon. Based on what I can see, Tesla just needs to hit the switch. 9 standard stalls 2 bike rack stalls 1 trailer stall Garbage & Recycling is a nice touch

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

Thanks! Just saw Tesla is now showing this station as Q3 launch. I’d guess they’re seeing delays in getting a power connection.

Thanks Big Earl - any update on these chargers? I’ve got my fingers crossed they’ll be open by mid May.

    Supercharger - Fort Mill, SC

Active construction underway. It appears 4 stalls will be on one side and 8 on another. The section with 8 has one pull in, 5 standard back of the spot stalls, and 2 that are mounted on the side of the spot.

Could you tell if the L2 chargers were Tesla or J-1772?
  29. R

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

My thought as well. Good news is that there are 8 superchargers to use as well.

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

Thats nice of them. I have some family in the general area. It’ll be nice to park for a few hours and slow charge vs supercharging. Hopefully they’re not always taken by HT shoppers.

Supercharger - Washington, DC - M Street NE

Does anyone know how tesla Lvl 2 charging works at superchargers? Do you pay just as you would with the supercharger? I wonder if they’ll be a time limit?

    Supercharger - Fort Mill, SC

This is going to be a great location, everyone can charge up and get some good fireworks before crossing into NC! Joking aside, this will be slightly more difficult to get in and out of then most off exit charging stations. Overall I think its a good location for those heading north on 77...

    Supercharger - St. George, SC

I’m happy they’re lining 95 with stops. With more options comes more flexibility. With that added flexibility, I might consider avoiding this site if I’d like to do anything but charge and use the bathroom.

    Supercharger - Yemassee, SC

Stopped by today and the chargers looked nice. Directly off the highway which was great. While there I attempted to use the restroom at Wendy’s but the dinning room was closed at ~10:30am. Not sure if that is a COVID thing or just based on the time. The drive through was open. Ended up...

    Supercharger - St. George, SC

12 Chargers in two rows. I thought they were pull through but they’re only pull in. I’ve never seen a setup like this before. The area is rough... The only things I saw that were walkable with out crossing the main road was a run down Food Lion and AutoZone. Not sure this is one you’ll...
