    MCU1 infotainment upgrade

Thanks croman Do you have inside knowledge, or is it a gut feel? I know that the day I get it repaired with an MCU1 they will come announce the MCU2 upgrade!

    MCU1 infotainment upgrade

Does anyone have an update on this? I have a 2014 Model S P85D, and my MCU has been dead since early March. I have been holding off getting it fixed because I want to wait for the upgrade. It is now July and there is still no word on the upgrade for 1st gen AP.

    P85D efficiency up after 6.1

It seems to me that those seeing big improvements in efficiency are from California. The only state in the nation that has not been seeing the recent huge drop in temps.

    P85D efficiency up after 6.1

If you are doing A (P85) vs B (P85D) then it is still a valid experiment. You won't be able to compare the results to a previous run, but you will never be able to do that anyway. Too many variables. Thanks for doing this for the community.

    P85D efficiency up after 6.1

It is colder for most folks than it was when they first got their P85D, this could easily wipe out the 10% improvement that *may* be in the new release

They stopped installing them in MN because they are illegal (hide the tabs). Don't worry spv6, you will learn to love the Minneapolis team as you work with them more. There is nothing they won't do for you (within reason of course!).

    P85D vs. P85 Efficiency Testing

Are they both 21"? Oh yea, the yellow car. Sorry. OK 21s on both. I see the D is almost at 1000 miles, so we can't throw in 5% for new tires. Still looking for 5% somewhere. However, if we calculate it the other way: 306/252, it is 13%, so 3%. Still some tire break in?

Seriously? You are getting ripped off! A partial (clear bra) for me is around $600.

There seems to be a lot of variability from car-to-car. I am wondering if slight manufacturing differences cause a large change in range. It could be that the early prototypes did not identify the problem

I had to switch to the ship-to-home option. However I am still wondering if it can catch a truck by the 31st.

I have been thinking about this, and it occurred to me that a dyno has four independent rolls, rather than a single road surface. I am thinking that there may be a small synchronization issue between the axles, that can cause motors to fight each other. This will not show up on dyno rolls.

Congratulations 3s! Just one day after mine. So now what? I think mine is still in CA, but cannot be sure. I had a discussion with my DS yesterday who was recommending the FOB Factory option. I told him to hold off on that decision until the end of the day, in case it got on a truck. Now I am...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

My DS tells me that the Dashboard status does not necessarily reflect reality. He is convinced that my car is out of production and waiting for a truck. I hope he is right. He said the factory sends updates to HQ who update the Dashboards. It is chaos at the moment and it is not unusual for the...

I don't have a D, but I do have a lot of experience getting the most range I can from a P in subzero weather in high winds. This is what I do. Take it very easy at the beginning. Get onto the freeway and drive under the speed limit. Pull up the energy graph on one panel, and the nav in the...

P85D range and highway battery performance

While we could go crazy adding columns, I have found the greatest factor that influences range after elevation is wind. Head, tail, or crosswind. It isn't easy to gather the data, but I get the local weather as I am traveling, then average it out. A wind at 45 degrees to the direction of travel...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

My car is in "final EOL test" I guess it is the final step before production complete. My DS was a little cagey with his update though, so I am wondering what that really means. He said I have gone through the water test and burn-in, so I guess that is a good sign, unless it has been pulled into...

I have been watching your car too 3s. We both went into production on the 15th. Last I checked (Friday) I was still in General Assembly. Do you know where your car is at? I think we are in a black hole too. We both have gray interiors. I am wondering if that is the reason.

it worked as expected on the demo P85D I drove. Vibrated the steering wheel. Felt like a rumble strip.
  39. C

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

When I first experienced the lane departure warning I thought there were rumble strips in the road, but it was the car itself. I did notice that if the white lines are far enough apart, and the sensor happens to cross lanes between them, it will not go off. Sorry, rather OT here.

I believe we speculated that the ratio was 10:1 earlier. This is in the same order - - - Updated - - - It is still very variable. From 3 days to who knows how long. I am still in General Assembly, and I went into production on the 15th. Since you are in SoCal, I would give it at least 6 days.
