Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

I had my car cleaned for free by Tesla last summer, about 9 months after buying the car. Smell was back in just a couple of months. What if you just take the filter out? Or a fairly course filter? I would rather take in some road fumes than have to live with that stink every time I star the...

    Cross traffic causing sudden slowdowns

What bothers me about this behavior is that it seems like by the time my car brakes the crossing car is already clear if my path. I would have thought that the processing power of this car would have it reacting much sooner than it does.

Unfortunately, the only feature I would like is stoplight recognition, which is not a part of EAP. I probably would have been in for 6 but not 12.

Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

Unfortunately for me, Auto resulted in a stinky car after 7 months of ownership of my '22 MY... The Tesla engineers failed miserably on the HVAC design.

Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

Not sure this logic holds for hot, humid environments. Recirculation will dehumidify the air relative to the hot, humid fresh air.

New Tesla Model 3 extended range locked me out, Tesla refused to help

Wow. So two morals to this story: 1) Always carry your key card as backup. 2) If you have a critical view about Tesla, don't express it here as you will find neither sympathy or support.

    2022 m3p no longer dropped

I actually don't find the suspension as awful as I remember it in my test drive. Perhaps it is my switching to 18x9.5 wheels.

Raise Screen? [Any third party solution to raise screen height?]

I know there are lots of swivel mounts available. Are there any mounts that would raise the screen about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I'm relatively tall and it would be nice to bring it up a little closer to my field of view, being relatively tall.

Going to order a new Model 3 performance. Should I consider the long range AWD?

If I had it to do over again, I would probably just get the LR. The acceleration on the M3P is staggering, but frankly a bit pointless for everyday driving. I actually keep it in chill most of the time. The 20 inch wheels are totally impractical for Houston city streets so I promptly replace...

They are probably the same place that Elon's ego put the radar sensors.

    245 40 19 tires efficiency

My 265/40R18 Bridgestone S-04s are terrible...around 270Wh/mi primarily highway. Seems to be about 10% worse than the Uberturbines. Will try 275/49/18 Indy500s next...

Dash wood trim replaced under warranty?

I expect that as mine starts to dry out, I will use some fretboard lemon oil. That dried dash looks a lot like a dried out fretboard. Amazing how lemon oil can revive it.

Per, Apex fitment guide (and my post above), you will need 3mm spacers on the performance. That driven by the width and offset relative to clearance from the front upper suspension arm rather than the step. The diameter of the rotor hub is actually the same as the ID of the wheel. I am very...

Hit a pothole and got 2 flats on my Model 3 Performance

This thread makes me glad I immediately switched to 18x9.5 wheels with 265/40R18s. Great look and great protection.

Rear brake / wheel fitment issue on M3P

Yes, they took care of it. Plenty of room for the weights closer to the spokes. All taken care of. I was a little annoyed that Apex did not warn of this, but interesting to hear that Tesla changed the assembly recently.

Rear brake / wheel fitment issue on M3P

Not their fault. I brought the wheels and tires in the back of my truck. I didn't see how close it was in the back. But they took care of it for me. All sorted. In love with these wide wheels and tires. Much more muscular look.

I switched from the 20s on the performance to 18s for pothole protection. I was not going for efficiency, I was going for looks and performance and went with 265s on 18x9.5s. Rear brake / wheel fitment issue on M3P

What is this very annoying placed plastic cylinder on the back of the rear caliper on the M3P. The wheel weights on my 18" Apex wheels are rubbing on it. Quite annoying that it stick out way further than the caliper itself. Thanks.

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Delivery scheduled for 11/20. Interestingly, when I ordered, they said I would have to pick it up. Now planned for home delivery. A couple of questions: When they do home delivery, do they try to rush you through the inspection or can you take your time? For states requiring front license...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

I do not, but I will take pictures when I get the car in 1-2 weeks. I am doing the EC-7, not the EC7-R. The EC-7 are ET35 rather than ET34, but they do require a centering ring. APEX makes a very nice aluminum centering ring. Regarding non-P vs P, the 3mm spacer (5 mm spacer needed for some...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

For me, it is because there is a 100% chance of the 20" wheels getting bent on Houston roads. I haven't decided whether to sell the stock wheels and tires. Were it not for the bad roads of Houston, I would probably still switch to 19x9 or 9.5. I think the 20" wheels look foolishly large, they...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Some, but not all will fit over the Performance brakes. There are some pretty good wheel threads in the forum that provide examples. One popular manufactuer is Konig, who has several models that fit (but again, not all). I have been very happy with Apex wheels on my BMW M235i and went to them...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Yes, I have new wheels and tires already. Wheels are Apex EC7 18x9.5ET35. Tires are 265/40 18. I wanted more width for looks and performance, and more sidewall for the terrible Houston streets.

Tesla v Miata on Twisty Course. Very different cars, nearly identical times.

I have a track prepped MX5 (no swap) and just ordered an M3P. I will be quite disappointed if the Tesla is not considerably faster on track. That is a very twisty course though. And that MX5 driver was having a lot more fun!

2021 Performance Model 3. Poll Red or White ?

I just placed my order for red. I walked up to my blue M235i the other day, and all I saw were gray, white, silver and black. And then BLUE! It was like a colorized black and white movie. I decided then and there that the 3 would be either red or blue. I agree with the poster above that...

Model 3 Tires, Tire Sizes, Types, make / model recommendations, tire discussions, etc

With M3P on order, I am pre-purchasing some modification. The 20 inch wheels wouldn't last a week on Houston roads. And I think they look a bit silly. I am going to 18s. I couldn't pass up 265/40R18 Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Positions for $142 a piece at Tire Rack. Got a set delivered...

Master Thread: Model 3s on the Track / drag strip- Videos, Discussion, Setup, Etc

How many minutes on track is a Model 3 Performance good for? Unfortunately, there are no superchargers near MSR Houston. I could, however, trailer it down with a full charge and bring it home with just enough juice to get back on the trailer. Would it make it through 3 x 20 minute sessions...

    Motion Sickness

My girlfriend and I both felt a bit off on my first test drive of a Model 3 LR. I thought it was either the Regen braking or watching the stupid traffic visualization on the screen in my peripheral vision. Second test drive I was more mindful to smoothly release the accelerator, and we...

    Traffic rendering

Is there a way to disable, hid or cover that real-time traffic view? I have found it very distracting on the test drives that I have taken. My preference is to watch for traffic in the real world, not on a computer screen. I have noted in one review that it does not show up in track mode...

    HDPE/Track Day Insurance

I believe that the Camaro 1LE pack also qualifies for warranty coverage on track. Go Chevy! I got track insurance for my M235i just once. Eventually I bought an MX5 for the track. I do what to see what the M3P will do on track though. Tires are problem because any tire that is a decent...

    One piece rotors for M3P

Thanks! Good to know. Partly I just don't like that hub design. We all have our quirks... Yes, I am well aware of the cons of rotational mass. It is however, a rather small radius. What is relatively dumb with regard to rotational mass is 30lb 20" Uberturbine wheels, which will certainly...

    One piece rotors for M3P

I am preparing to order an M3P. I am looking at aftermarket wheel options which has taught me about these weird skinny steel hub 2-piece rotors and the annoying step it creates on the hub. Choosing the Right Enkei PF01's for a M3P

Hi Carskick, I was curious how this turned out for you. Did you end up with PF01s? Wondering about the interference on rear brakes mentioned above. I am going through the same process. I am preparing to order an M3P. I really don't like the Uberturbine look or susceptibility to damage on...
