    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

I'm running 245/60 and to my understanding it's about as big as you can go without any modifications. If you want to start messing with the fender then of course the sky is the limit.

    Model Y Ski Sock

I've done three sets of varying length, pretty sure four would fit, especially if they weren't all the same size where the tips might interfere. I fit my 188 downhill skis and 200cm XC skis no problem on the length front. The sock extends right to the console, so it basically that length in total.

    Model Y Ski Sock

Sewed it myself from materials, most bought from ripstop by the roll.

    Model Y Ski Sock

Worked great, will do the same this year. That's the Tesmanian mat. I like it but don't have anything to compare it to. I do think I'm going to get the front seat versions though. The Taptes ones don't cover as much as I'd like.

Tesla CO2 emissions for 1250 mile trip

Ya, I think there's a land of hand waving with flight carbon calculators. In theory the one I used takes into account the variables you mentioned but it does differ from the United number which is ~280 kgs for two passengers, which would further close the gap with the Tesla. As mentioned earlier...

Tesla CO2 emissions for 1250 mile trip

Yes, right! Do you have a good number for full lifecycle for US sourced gasoline per chance? I wasn't sure how to account for charging loss, these numbers are from Tesla and I wasn't sure if they counted only what was added or the total pumped in. Looking more closely TeslaFi does have a used...

Tesla CO2 emissions for 1250 mile trip

We did it in two days, not so bad for a two week trip. Agree that many will look to convenience and cost first but reducing co2 emissions is the main reason we went electric so was curious about it on a trip like this.

Tesla CO2 emissions for 1250 mile trip

Just did a road trip from Leavenworth, WA to Boulder, CO in our Model Y and decided to run some numbers on CO2 emissions vs flying or driving a hybrid Rav4. TLDR is that due to coal power generation in Wyoming and Utah, driving a Tesla emits about 84% as much CO2 as a Rav4 and 80% as much as...

Does slip start or off road assist have any effect on acceleration times?

Throttle response is vastly diminished in off road assist (I think that's the point) so I'm sure it is slower. If you have a draggy why don't you just try it?

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

These are 925kg per wheel, 105V. Considering my wheels are 750kg per wheel I figure that's enough.

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

I took delivery of a 378xxx LR Ryzen. Intel is the exception at this point.

    Model Y Ski Sock

Ya, you could make one that would work for 8' lumber and that sat in the center console. This one maxes out at about 6'6"

    Model Y Ski Sock

We do a lot of skiing and I prefer to carry our skis inside the car than have a rack or roof box. The Y has a great pass through in the form of the middle seat coming down but I was a bit concerned about wear and tear from our ski edges scratching things up over time. I happen to dabble in...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

FWIW we had the same experience in Renton where Washington State cars are picked up. We asked to look at the car before signing and they gave us all the time we wanted inside and out.

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Well, almost 5 months after my initial inquiry we finally took delivery and three days later lifted our new Y and put 18" wheels on. We ended up going with Replika 241's and Michelin CrossClimate2s (245/60/18). That gets us just under 9" of clearance which should be good enough for our...

    Actual range less than 1/2?

ABRP is good guide for sure. Speed is the killer. If you really don't want to stop, drive 70 instead of 80, that'll give you another 20% in range. (each 5mph over 65 mph uses 10% more energy)

Brand new Model Y noise while parked

Ours does the same thing. I think it's just doing its thing taking care of the battery etc.. These are different kinds of cars that just act differently than we are used to. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about.

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

My is 378517, just to get very granular about it. Also, try as I might I can't find anything wrong with it. I've been conditioned to expect terrible delivery quality but I just can't find anything to get worked up over. At first I thought maybe the rear hatch could use an alignment when I took...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Picked up an LR yesterday with VIN 378xxx. AMD, haven't checked battery yet but expect LiIon.

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

FYI: technically the very largest you can go with a lift without tweaking anything else is 245/60/r18 It isn't a huge difference though: https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=255&aspect=55&diameter=18&wheelwidth=8.5&offset=40&width2=245&aspect2=60&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=8.5&offset2=40

Is there power in the Model Y?

Seems the strategy people use who really want high draw power is to use a Jackery or the like which has it's own battery and inverter. Those trickle charge off the 12 volt but then can put out however many watts you need depending on the model. People run fridges / laptops off of them. Bonus is...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Well my 378xxx VIN has AMD according to the SA I just spoke to, so maybe it's a lottery. Spoke to two different ones and triple checked with the last that they looked at my specific VIN so unless they are outright lying feeling pretty good! Anybody know if there is any way to check externally...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Did you put it on hold or just reject? I'm pretty sure I'm in the same situation (378xxx) and not sure how fast we'll rematch if we just reject vs holding for a few weeks.
  24. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Oy, just got a 378k VIN assigned today (LR). Guess I will be asking first thing tomorrow...
  25. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Yes, I think this is the only explanation that makes any sense. That some Intel built cars were waiting for a rework or parts and those have just been released. I just don't understand a high production world where they would be swapping back and forth between the two given the number of...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

I find it much more likely that SAs are misinformed than these cars being delivered with Intel.

    AMD Ryzen & 12v Batteries now shipping in US Y & 3!!

Looks like an update enabling heated wiper park is going out now for Rizen equipped cars.

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Confirmation they aren't coming back, Bluetooth will replace them for controllers.

    Supercharging Fun? YES!

Super curious to hear what they offer per stall, the way they word that sounds like not much.
  30. N

Model Y - Gigafactory Texas Production

You forget that Tesla advertises range, not capacity. I have no idea what they are going to do with 4860s but they wouldn't be breaking any promises by delivering say a 78 kw 4860 with the same range as the current model. Honestly I suspect they will just make it 82 kw as present but just...

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Nice, all we need now is some brave soul to apply 12 volts to that to verify it happens!

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Nice! First I've seen of this. Is this your car?
  33. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

I've heard multiple people say this but have yet to see any picture proof.
  34. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

I think it's quite a bit more subtle as it is in the masked area that is matte black. I posted a video earlier in the thread showing what it looks like. I think it's even harder on a Tesla since that area is so sunk into the frunk cover.
  35. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

How did you check? Were you looking for the subtle lines in the lower windshield?
  36. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

Congrats! Can you try to see if you have a heated wiper park too? This shows what it looks like on the windshield of a Toyota, you may be able to see it as well in the right light.
  37. N

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Agreed. I maintain USB data being taken out is not a part shortage issue at all but a conscious choice to restrict data access to the computer. (either for security reasons or to guarantee performance characteristics) I personally doubt it will ever come back.
  38. N

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Queue Home Depot mounting bracket pictures... :)
  39. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

In theory if you look closely you should be able to tell. If you search heated wiper park on YouTube there are some examples from different manufacturers.

    AMD Ryzen & 12v Batteries now shipping in US Y & 3!!

Nothing more than rumor but random redditor claims all Ryzen cars also have heated wiper park:

Existing Tesla owner, transfer a new reservation to a different account

From what I've gathered the only way this can work is if someone basically gives up their entire Tesla account with the reservation on it. IE, they give you the login and password for the account with the reservation and then you update all the info to your info. This won't work if they already...

Model Y - Gigafactory Texas Production

Wonder if the speakers just aren't broken in yet. Takes a bit for the paper cones to loosen up and most speakers sound muddy until then. I've heard the sound on other ModelYs and it sounds pretty incredible to me.
  43. N

    2022 Model Y - USB Data Ports - USB-A Glovebox Only

Based on absolutely no facts my guess is they moved to only the glove box having data access due to security concerns in having a data enabled USB port in the car accessible without authentication of some kind.
  44. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

It's so weird that the LR Y is the only model that doesn't have the matrix lights. Even the standard range 3 has the matrix now. They must just be burning through old inventory.
  45. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

I'm curious for someone to dig a bit deeper to see if the heated windshield hardware is present. Not sure how obvious it would be but given they said it would later be software enabled I would be kind of surprised if Ryzen/Lion cars didn't also have that change already.
  46. N

    AMD Ryzen & 12v Batteries now shipping in US Y & 3!!

It's so weird. I really don't understand how it would be a mix. You'd think there's a trailer somewhere of Atoms and once they are done with those then they moved to Rizens. What set up would lead to it being random on an assembly line and what would be the benefit to doing so?
  47. N

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

Ooh, nice! This is the first time I see 60 profiles without a lift! Didn't know it would fit. Looks pretty sweet with no fender gap.

    Snow/Ice driving settings?

There's a few threads on this if you search. Half the people agree with you that it isn't fantastic in snow due to the regen braking, the other half will tell you you are doing it wrong. As usual truth is probably a bit of both. One new recent option is to get the aftermarket "sexy" buttons...
  49. N

Some 2022 Model Ys shipping with MCU3 (AMD Ryzen)

As far as I can tell only LRs have been reported with the Rizens so not sure where you or they got that information.
