Update: I did drive my Model Y and survived. Got a 90% charge in Duluth and topped it off on Madeline via the EVMatch app (thanks Martin!). I drove all around the island and had no worries about making it back to Duluth.

Anyone tried taking your Tesla for an extended stay on the island? Looks like a charging desert. I’m trying to figure out if it’s feasible to drive the Tesla or take my ICE car. I know there’s a 50kW charger in Washburn, WI but it has bad reviews on PlugShare so I’m leery about depending on it.

I used the same station last week (at Wal-Mart?) and it worked flawlessly delivering 39kWh with a max rate of 179kW. CCS adapter on 2022 MYLR.

For what it's worth (not much yet), I updated to 2022.8.3 and did a short drive on two-lane highways. No PB issues, but there weren't many trucks.

I'm a software guy too, and it's very hard not to upgrade. But I've really been enjoying the car without the phantom braking...

So my car just notified me that I can upgrade from 2022.4.5.17 to 2022.8.3. I'm happy with how 2022.4.5.17 has reduced phantom braking so I'm nervous about updating. Anybody want to convince me? 🙄🙄

That's not true on my 2017 Outback with Eyesight -- you can switch to "conventional cruise control" if the Eyesight system isn't working.

The 13-ft Scamp has a recommended ball height of 18 inches while the 16-ft height is 21 if I recall correctly. So if @HyperionMark was successful I'm hoping I can be too.

I have a week old Model Y, no radar and no FSD. TACC works OK on four-lane roads but is almost unusable on two-lane highways. So many phantom braking events. Plus Autosteer is useless at night because it requires the auto high beam feature, which works poorly on winding, hilly two-lane...

I have Verizon for normal use but switch to Google FI eSIM for international travel. Works pretty well.

So just to update. Wire transfer from Ally Bank to Tesla's bank went through in less than a day without a hitch. Ally does charge $20 but it was worth not giving bank credentials to Plaid.

I'll post here once it goes through but it was easy from Ally Bank. The wire transfer info is on the last page of your MVPA. UPDATE: Ally just called to verify the transfer as a security precaution, which I think is a good idea.

Woo-hoo! Got the text to schedule delivery. Nov 24 in Bloomington, IL. Now to initiate the wire transfer and get an insurance card to upload.

It's crazy that with all of their technical acumen, Tesla apparently cannot notify people about stuff like that.
