I never had one either. If I ever had a question, I would call the number for the nearest location. Whether I actually spoke to someone local is debatable but I always had my questions answered. I made it through delivery just fine without one.

What is the story on this? I feel like I’ve seen a few references to Renton and joyrides. I mean, I can put two and two together but just curious if there are any other details.

I picked up my car the other day. There is a faint humming noise with all systems off but it’s not loud enough to bother me. I measured the dB level with my phone and it was around 29-30. With the A/C on, I can’t hear the hum.

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought delivery had to be accepted before the interior of the car can be accessed. If that’s true, how can someone reject the car? And what if someone gets stuck with home delivery? Can that be rejected if they drop off the car and leave?

After watching a few YouTube videos of people taking delivery, and after speaking to an advisor, my understanding is that customers have to accept delivery of the car before they can get inside. If that’s true, how does someone reject the car after accepting it?

Well that sucks. If Tesla keeps putting out noisy cars, the sound will really be normal. That’s a shame. Competition is on the way.

Supposedly you can make an appointment to have this fixed at no cost. I worry that stuff like this would only take their time and attention away from other problems, like the noise that shouldn’t be there.

My understanding is they will not let you inside the car until you accept delivery. That’s what I was told when asking about inspecting the car.

You only get to choose when you release the hold. Once that happens, it’s anyone’s guess. I deferred and released my hold a little early. My EDD is now back in the original time frame. I’m sure others have different experiences though.

I spoke to a SA yesterday and asked the same question. He estimated 1-3 months for another match. That sounds ok, but not April!

Don’t worry. I started with a generic month, then the EDD disappeared, came back with a 3-week range, disappeared again, and then came back with a new 3-week range. It’s a roller coaster but unfortunately, it’s normal.

If you reject a car, do you get bumped to the current delivery estimates (which is currently April) or do you go back to sometime around the original EDD?

Good luck! I’m excited for you. This will help others be able to go back to Tesla with a better explanation as to why this sound is an actual problem. Then Tesla can’t fall back on the “it’s normal” excuse.

I was able to hear the sounds clearly with my earbuds. It was hard to hear with the device speakers.

I don't think they'll take back the car, but the used car market is hot right now. You're in a good position to sell the car and get most, if not all, of your money back.
