Another no update update. Drove through the Sprouts parking lot yesterday and no signs of any activity. I get a peek at this lot several times a month, just waiting to be surprised one day soon.

Figured that was the case with the bump to 150kw just requiring some upgraded hardware. Farmington is typically our lunch/deep charge stop before heading over Wolf Creek Pass up to Poncha Springs. I guess the bump to 150kw will help a little until the new Farmington or Durango SC sites open.

For a 4 stall site, is a 120kw to 150kw upgrade a relatively simple process in comparison to an upgrade to 250kw? Assuming there was ample power to the location, why not upgrade to 250kw or add some 250kw stalls similar to Gallup or Holbrook? Even with a second site planned for Farmington...

Passed through Wikieup today. Didn't see any SC specific construction, but the old 76 station on the east side of the road was fenced off and there were some construction vehicles inside. It looked like some demolition of the old blacktop and concrete was underway. Could this be the location...

Good info on timeline. I was hoping for this summer, but that might be ambitious. Not apples to apples, but construction time on some installs down in metro phx have been as quick as 6-7 weeks. Weather is not an obstacle not nearly as remote a location.

Any indication how quickly we might see some construction activity? Do Colorado winters slow down progress?

Makes sense. For some reason I thought the route would take you through Florence to the 60, but that is clearly a backtrack when I look at the map. It adds close to 40 miles and the stop would be much longer w L2 vs. SC in Payson. My bad!

Superior, AZ has a Tesla destination charger and 3 J1772 plugs on Main Street. A Globe SC would be ideal, but these L2's in Superior provide a decent backup plan if just a little juice is needed to get back to the east valley. Superior is about 45 miles east of the SC on US60/Stapley Rd.

Drove through Wikieup twice in the last few days and still nothing at all to report. Bummer, as Wickenburg continues to grow its reputation as a bottleneck.

With all of the construction and congestion nearby, I am surprised many out of towners use this site. There are many self park and valet options at nearby casinos with charging that would allow leaving town with a decent charge and not needing to stop until the first bathroom break.

Yes, City Hall bathrooms are still open and the closest option. If I'm walking over to Bahsas for a beverage, they also have a bathroom as an option. Are you thinking of Nana's Sandwich Shoppe?

Currently AZ Mills Mall, Mesa, and the new Chandler SC all have waits ranging form 5-15 minutes. SE valley could use one or two. Maybe near San Tan Mall area, or maybe near the 60/202 SuperRedTan interchange.

Guessing the shade from a solar canopy would help with problems like this. In Phoenix, there have been 15 straight days of 110+ and many days over 115 and approaching 120 this weekend. The extreme desert southwest is a perfect proving ground for cars and I guess charging technology too.

Only Tucson folks would potentially use this charger for a San Diego trip (most likely on the way back to Tucson). Phoenix metro drivers would be on the Gila Bend/Dateland path.
