Supercharger - Mesa, AZ - S Signal Butte Road

Another no update update. Drove through the Sprouts parking lot yesterday and no signs of any activity. I get a peek at this lot several times a month, just waiting to be surprised one day soon.

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Spring has sprung....let's get this one goin!
  3. S

    Supercharger - Farmington, NM

Figured that was the case with the bump to 150kw just requiring some upgraded hardware. Farmington is typically our lunch/deep charge stop before heading over Wolf Creek Pass up to Poncha Springs. I guess the bump to 150kw will help a little until the new Farmington or Durango SC sites open.
  4. S

    Supercharger - Farmington, NM

For a 4 stall site, is a 120kw to 150kw upgrade a relatively simple process in comparison to an upgrade to 250kw? Assuming there was ample power to the location, why not upgrade to 250kw or add some 250kw stalls similar to Gallup or Holbrook? Even with a second site planned for Farmington...

    Supercharger - Wikieup, AZ

Passed through Wikieup today. Didn't see any SC specific construction, but the old 76 station on the east side of the road was fenced off and there were some construction vehicles inside. It looked like some demolition of the old blacktop and concrete was underway. Could this be the location...

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Good info on timeline. I was hoping for this summer, but that might be ambitious. Not apples to apples, but construction time on some installs down in metro phx have been as quick as 6-7 weeks. Weather is not an obstacle not nearly as remote a location.
  7. S

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Any indication how quickly we might see some construction activity? Do Colorado winters slow down progress?
  8. S

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

At least the stalls are pretty far from the building, hopefully making 30 minute/General Parking less likely. On page 4 it also states that Tesla "has the option to covert the 4 general parking stalls into dedicated charging stalls with 10 days written notice in order to satisfy demand for...

Supercharger - Quartzsite, AZ - Main Event Lane

I've seen similar at the Kingman sites. Both Quartzsite and Kingman legacy sites are next to grimy Carl's Jrs....Maybe people have a secret love for their mediocre burgers and gross wet floor bathrooms! Seriously though, the vast majority of Tesla owners are uninformed masses who follow the...

    Supercharger - Wikieup, AZ

Dang....saw new posts and incorrectly thought we had some construction progress. Especially after seeing the flurry of new SC installs in the east Valley of Phoenix. Not the first or last time I'll fall for that!!
  11. S

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Makes sense. For some reason I thought the route would take you through Florence to the 60, but that is clearly a backtrack when I look at the map. It adds close to 40 miles and the stop would be much longer w L2 vs. SC in Payson. My bad!
  12. S

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Superior, AZ has a Tesla destination charger and 3 J1772 plugs on Main Street. A Globe SC would be ideal, but these L2's in Superior provide a decent backup plan if just a little juice is needed to get back to the east valley. Superior is about 45 miles east of the SC on US60/Stapley Rd.
  13. S

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Agreed....my Phoenix to Breckenridge area drive usually consists of a Gallup-Farmington-Poncha Springs segment. Thinking that might become a Gallup-Durango-Poncha Springs leg. Shaves some miles off of the Farmington to Poncha leg, and also eliminates the guaranteed slow charging stop at the 4...
  14. S

    Supercharger - Payson AZ

I'll start by saying the Payson SC has always been solid. While a 150 kW location, charging speed has always been reliable and I've never had to wait for a stall......until this weekend. A short line was queued up and I've heard from a couple friends who have also experienced a wait over the...

Supercharger - Scottsdale, AZ - N Miller Road

Good confirmation! Construction was moving right along when I passed by a couple days ago. I've seen that parking lot maxed out on St Patty's Day when Clancy's blocks off some of the parking lot, but generally there's open spots toward the eventual supercharger area. Location will have...

    Arizona Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I found a couple permits that point toward it having Tesla Superchargers. I'll post in the main Supercharger section and create a new thread....I'll attach the permits I was able to find, perhaps there are more details out there....

Supercharger - Scottsdale, AZ - N Miller Road

It appears there is a new Supercharger site about to begin construction in South Scottsdale, near Old Town. I found a couple permits for 4320 N Miller Rd., one for the contractor EVI and the other for Tesla permitting (links below). I can't seem to find detail around how many stalls, but the...

    Arizona Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

EVI does a lot of the Tesla installs, and I saw an official looking Tesla employee on site talking with the EVI crew. She was wearing a polo shirt with Tesla logo.

    Arizona Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I haven't seen a thread for a new potential site I saw earlier this week. I'd probably classify it as "Old Town Scottsdale" as it is in the Sprouts parking lot at 4402 N Miller Rd in Scottsdale, just SW of Miller and Camelback Rds. I saw a chain link fence with an EVI sign and saw some...

    Supercharger - Wickenburg, AZ

Stopped in Wickenburg today to find a full charger and a short wait, followed by the normal slow and shared charge rates. In addition, I tried to access the bathrooms in Town Hall but the doors were locked. There was staff inside cleaning but would only point to the posted hours on the door...

    Supercharger - Wikieup, AZ

Drove through Wikieup twice in the last few days and still nothing at all to report. Bummer, as Wickenburg continues to grow its reputation as a bottleneck.
  22. S

    Supercharger - Wikieup, AZ

Has anyone been through Wikieup lately? Any signs of something about to happen? I'll be driving through in mid-Oct and will report back... Hopefully this is still on the schedule to be completed in Q4-2023.

Supercharger - Quartzsite, AZ - Main Event Lane

Wonder where this crew is going next? Wikieup?
  24. S

Supercharger - Las Vegas, NV (High Roller at LINQ)

With all of the construction and congestion nearby, I am surprised many out of towners use this site. There are many self park and valet options at nearby casinos with charging that would allow leaving town with a decent charge and not needing to stop until the first bathroom break.
  25. S

    Supercharger - Wickenburg, AZ

Yes, City Hall bathrooms are still open and the closest option. If I'm walking over to Bahsas for a beverage, they also have a bathroom as an option. Are you thinking of Nana's Sandwich Shoppe?
  26. S

    Supercharger - Scottsdale, AZ - 7366 E Shea Blvd

Currently AZ Mills Mall, Mesa, and the new Chandler SC all have waits ranging form 5-15 minutes. SE valley could use one or two. Maybe near San Tan Mall area, or maybe near the 60/202 SuperRedTan interchange.
  27. S

    Supercharger - Wickenburg, AZ

16 x 250kw in Wikieup is needed and will help many on the Phx to Vegas route, but an upgrade in Wickenburg to V3 (similar to Holbrook and Gallup), would really help with the current bottleneck. WIckenburg used to only be a cluster on peak days at peak times, but I've seen it clogged at many...
  28. S

    Supercharger - Quartzsite, AZ

Guessing the shade from a solar canopy would help with problems like this. In Phoenix, there have been 15 straight days of 110+ and many days over 115 and approaching 120 this weekend. The extreme desert southwest is a perfect proving ground for cars and I guess charging technology too.

    Supercharger - Wickenburg, AZ

Fair enough, didn't think of that. I've seen non-Tesla's there other times, but while there on Sunday it was nothing but Teslas.
  32. S

    Supercharger - Wickenburg, AZ

Charging on Sunday 6/4 was a hot mess. The navigation screen showed a wait at the Wickenburg charger during the entire drive from Kingman. Upon arrival, the line was 4 deep and grew to 6 during the wait. Entire stop was 45-60 minutes to get enough juice to get to Phoenix. Shared speeds...

    Supercharger - Wikieup, AZ

Nothing new on the Supercharger front in Wikieup. Drove through this past weekend and I didn't see anything. Hopefully something happens soon...Wickenburg was a disaster on Sunday.

Supercharger - Farmington, NM (2nd site)

That's accurate, I do use Farmington on my route from the Phoenix area to the mountains in Colorado. The western traffic pattern you describe is already filling up the existing Farmington chargers, so maybe they can upgrade the existing site or a Durango site on the south end of town near the...
  35. S

Supercharger - Farmington, NM (2nd site)

I use the existing Farmington NM charger a couple times per year as the charging stop between Gallup NM SC and Poncha Springs CO SC. While the old 4 stall V2 at the Marriott is slow on a good day and usually shared power, it seems to be decently on the route, has friendly bathrooms at the...

Supercharger - Gypsum, CO - Public and Service Center Supercharger locations

Eagle County Regional is a great little airport that provides access from many large cities. I think a lot of people use it to access ski towns out west like Beaver, Aspen, Breck, etc. both in the summer and winter. This charger would be a good location for those picking up or dropping off...

Supercharger - Mesa, AZ - West Guadalupe Road

A couple breakfast spots in that shopping center, along with Cornish pasty, Native NY Grill and Wings, and Mi Famiglia Pizza and Pasta... A Starbucks caddy corner across the intersection. Also a Circle K station across the street for 24/7 snacks and bathrooms. Roughly 1 mile east of the 101...

    Supercharger - Eloy, AZ

The Mogollon Rim...roughly 200 miles of rim country from maybe I-17 to the New Mexico border. It's the mountains where Phoenicians go in the summer to escape the heat. Cities along the rim include Payson, Sedona, Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside. Roughly 5000 ft elevation and where it turns from...

    Supercharger - Eloy, AZ

Yes, it is often preferable for many heading to the rim from the SE valley. I had to use the globe route from Gilbert/Mesa area on a trip to Colorado one summer when the beeline was closed due to a fire. It was a bit of an anxious drive from SE Gilbert to Holbrook with a newer car. It was a...
  42. S

    Supercharger - Dateland, AZ

It will clearly give shade during the middle of the day, but did you notice the direction of the charging stalls? Wondering if some some stalls will still get shade later in the afternoon as the sun gets lower. Nice to charge in the shade vs having sun in your face or having to put up the...

    Supercharger - Chandler, AZ

What are you seeing? Any changes from the original permitting?
  44. S

    Supercharger - Chandler, AZ

This Chandler site would likely take some pressure off of Mills Mall location, at least from residents in the Chandler/South Tempe area. Mills mall SC is often full.

    Supercharger - Eloy, AZ

Only Tucson folks would potentially use this charger for a San Diego trip (most likely on the way back to Tucson). Phoenix metro drivers would be on the Gila Bend/Dateland path.

Friend just stopped by here on the drive from Tucson to Phoenix and it is in the exact same state as the picture above. Still coned off with yellow caution tape.

First Road-trip in New Model Y

Agree with Plus EV. I do this drive several times a year in my model 3 LR AWD, but I live roughly 45 miles farther than you in the East Valley so I'll modify my experiences based to your shorter distance. I cannot comfortably make it the whole 225 miles to Kingman because of the highway...

    Supercharger - Globe, AZ

On the Find Us map, the future Globe site now says Q3-2023. Baby steps!!! Maybe someone can sleuth a permit to find the location and number of stalls?
