Are you planning to own post-warranty?

Extended warranties are a poor financial decision. It might make sense to buy one to smooth out the cost of repairs over time (monthly payments rather than lump sums) but people should do so knowing that's exactly what they're paying for - the convenience of distributing the cost of repair over...

Added Wheel Spacers to my LR AWD - Looks WAY Better!

Yep, same thing. Moving the wheel's center is moving the wheel's center, whether you do it with spacers or with the shape of the wheel itself. Whether it makes a measurable difference in wheel bearing lifespan, I have no idea. But It's not something I'd lose any sleep over. If the bearings...

    Model 3 Performance Spacers

On the rear of my M3P, I used 8mm spacers with these lugs that extend 8mm, to keep the same amount of thread engagement: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L75GQS3/ The spacers I used are no longer in stock, but there's nothing special about them. The wheels are TSW Geneva, 19x8, +35...

Sold my Model 3 after 3 years. Cost of ownership.

The used car market is bonkers right now. The shortage of new cars has driven up prices of used cars a lot. It seems like people who need to replace an old car are willing to pay a premium to get a replacement. Around the time I ordered my M3P last fall someone who had just taken delivery of...

What Do YOU Call the Pedal on the Right?

I don't know about the ones in Teslas, but in gas cars with throttle-by-wire (which is pretty common after 2000-2005 or so), the there are three pots on the pedal, and the ECU will reduce power, or cut power entirely, if all three signals don't agree with each other. My 2002 Corvette has 3 pots...

M3P - Who switched from a (true) sports car?

My 2002 Corvette makes similar power and weighs about 3/4 of my M3P. It's a fun car, but AWD and good traction control makes the M3P more fun on the street (it's less stressful to get the most fun out of it). For track days, the Corvette wins, especially with the upgrades that have gone into it...

M3P hesitates with new rims in 1/4 mile run

I wonder if it was just a difference in track surface. First, there was good prep and lots of traction, so there was uninterrupted acceleration. Second time, there was some residual oil from a car that ran in between, or the top surfaced changed due to another car spinning their tires across it...

The “Tesla” wave. Is there such a thing?

Those of us in the FSD gang always do jazz hands. Or we just nap. Either way, we know our tribe.

    Really bright headlights

+1 for aiming them. Telsa's lights are no brighter than anyone else's, but lights that are aimed too high are just as obnoxious as high beams.

Have there been any tests on how significantly the 2021 wheels & tires affect range?

I think the aerodynamic effects of the turbine wheels might be overstated, given that they're not directional. When the wheels on one side of the car are "evacuating" air, the wheels on the other side are trying to blow air in.
