Elon should clarify who is providing mapdata and speed limits. I assume TomTom only provide the speedlimits, Ihope OTA near real time but I’m not sure. They do for all new Lexus NX and Toyota EV’s, also for the KIA EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq soon.

I’m quit sure Tesla is using TomTom speed limits.

I still don’t think Tesla is using TomTom maps, in that case TomTom is obliged to communicate this to their shareholders. Tesla is only using the speedlimits as far as I know. But as a TomTom shareholder it would be great news if Tesla is using TomTom maps. So interesting case ;-)

That’s exact the reason why you need HD-maps, to localize the car with max 10cm accuracy, lane keeping with bad weather, etc…. As far as I know Tesla only uses speed limits from TomTom, not the maps.

NavTeq was the mapping company of NOKIA, bought by the BAD boys…… BMW, Audi and Daimler and renamed in HERE WeGo…… Tesla is not using HERE maps or navigation ann not using Bing maps.
