    Why no FSD trial?

I have a 2019 Raven with a recent update to 2024.3.15 and started the FSD trial yesterday. Impressive!!!

Is pge Equity Resiliency program taxable?

I know this is an old thread. Did anyone get a final answer on this? Has anyone had to pay federal tax on the incentive? In my case, my incentive covered the cost of the battery (2 PW2s), gateway and all the hardware. I was charged a flat fee of $1500 for the installation. I was never asked for...

Black screens and failure to start charging

Twice in the past 3 days my 2019 Raven MX has greeted us with black screens. This last time it also failed to start charging (we use the scheduled departure method). In both instances, we were able to get going by using the two-button reset method. Tesla replaced our MCU2 last summer when we...

    Falcon doors override.

2019 Raven. I know this isn’t the same issue as being discussed but I thought I’d throw it out there as it is related to FWDs not closing. Recently I was parked on a very steep hill. After retrieving my granddaughter from her car seat, the FWD wouldn’t close and the long press override didn’t...

Transfer Tesla Car from my in-law's Tesla account to My own Tesla Account; Will I lose the FSD?

Why not just leave it in your FIL’s Tesla account and remain an additional driver or get his credentials to login directly to his account? It has no bearing on legal ownership of the vehicle.

2020 Model X - Warranty expiring soon - what to check

Most likely to fail … Half shafts. Check for vibration during hard acceleration and be prepared to demonstrate. I had mine done two weeks before my warranty expired. FWD seals. I noticed that my passenger side FWD seal was touching the roof glass when fully opened. I asked the SC to adjust...

    Humming noise while turning left/right

My 2019 Raven started doing this right after they replaced the half shafts a couple of months ago. So, maybe it is a characteristic of the newer half shafts.

    6 Months of ownership

In my case, the driver door weatherstripping was hanging out near the bottom of the door when closed. Upon inspection I noted that it was loose at least 75% along the length of it. I bought some double stick tape at Autozone and fixed it in 5 minutes. That was over a year ago and it’s still holding.

    Questions about scheduled departure charging

I live in SoCal and I’m under SCE’s Prime TOU rate schedule (where rates nearly triple between 4pm and 9pm) and are basically the same other than during those hours. I set up my scheduled departure charging to reach 90% by 8am and specified 3:45pm as the end of off peak hours. Today, I...

    Considering buying a 2019/2020 X - concerned about “X issues” thoughts please!

We bought a used 2019 Raven Standard Range with about 20k miles on it a little over a year ago. We had an advantage in that we bought it off our daughter’s expiring lease (she bought a refresh X). So we knew the car’s history. She didn’t have any of the issues normally associated with an X with...

What outstanding issues to expect on a MX today?

I have a 2019 Raven with USS and my auto present works as intended. It's a nice party trick, but I could seriously take it or leave it. I experience the motor resistance multiple times daily when exiting the car as it's parked pretty close to another car in the garage. A second or two for the...

    Powerwall 2 installation location questions

Update … I did not encounter any problems passing inspection. I was very concerned as my original permit expired (note in my first post that this has been a very long project) and the new, reissued permit was dated after Jan 2023. And, a neighborhood friend had 2 Powerwalls installed by Tesla...

    Tax credit question

Confused about SCE PTO and NEM 2.0

Update: I sat on hold for 60 minutes to talk to a representative at SCE in their solar interconnect department. He was very understanding of my concerns and assured me that I would not be transitioned to NEM 3.0. However, he could not explain why my PTO letter said I would. He tried to give me...

MX doesn't consistently recognize it's at home

I think I figured it out. My wife’s profile didn’t have the home location set. I guess I thought home applied to the car, not the driver. So, even though her profile excluded those options at home, technically she was never home. Of course, when I brought the car home, it behaved correctly...

MX doesn't consistently recognize it's at home

2019 Raven MX. We have 2 driver profiles and both are set up with the "exclude at home" options enabled for walk away locking, auto door opening and sentry. About half the time, when at home, it behaves as if it's not at home (locks doors, sentry is on and door auto opens). We very recently...

Confused about SCE PTO and NEM 2.0

Now that I look more carefully, it looks like they are planning to transition me to NEM 3.0. I saw the reference to NEM 2.0 and assumed all was well. Now I see that's only temporary until their billing system is updated and I will be transitioned to the Solar Billing Plan. "Although the Solar...

Confused about SCE PTO and NEM 2.0

I just received a long-awaited PTO from SCE for a battery-only installation (solar panel system was installed in 2019). As expected, the PTO confirms that I will be (remain) under the NEM 2.0 program which I have been on since 2019. However, it goes on to say ... "The Solar Billing Plan will...

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

So, this response from Kumho surprised me. Now I just have to decide how often to flip them … “Hello, Yes the tires can be flipped over on the same rims (i.e. bring the inside to the outside) and as long as there is enough tread. Kumho Tire Warranty 800-445-8646 option 2...

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

Will definitely post what they say … but I agree they’ll probably say to replace them. I would have flipped my last set as a test but the farthest inner tread was at the wear bars already and I didn’t feel comfortable putting that on the outside edge. That’s why I threw out the notion of...

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

And that’s why I’ve reached out to Kumho customer support. Flipping the tires to even out the wear seems reasonable unless they insist it will be dangerous to do so.

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

Good to know. In my case, I plan to keep the car another 2 years. That's 40k miles max at our current driving rate. I just replaced the rears yesterday. At 20k per set of tires without changing anything, I'm looking at another set in 1 year and a set when I sell it. I paid about $700 for a pair...

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

They don't appear to differentiate Raven from pre-Raven (same product for both) nor do they imply that the stock toe arms for those models are adjustable. The way I read it is they're saying you don't need different toe arms to achieve the camber adjustment necessary to fix the uneven tire wear...

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

Are adjustable toe arms necessary for better rear tire wear?

I have a 2019 Raven MX. The most I seem to get out of rear tires is about 20k miles. I'd like to increase that if it doesn't require too much of an investment as I only plan to keep this car another 2 years. Based on several threads here, it would seem that N2itive and Macsboost might be the...

Both screens black and won’t reset (tried both two button and four button methods)

Update: Drove it to the SC. It took them 2 days to diagnose that the MCU2 failed. I opted to preemptively replace the 4 yr old 12v battery as well. With my luck lately, that would have failed tomorrow leaving me stranded somewhere.

Preparing to be towed with black screens

Update. Drove it screenless to the SC. Turn signals and brake lights worked but no indicator sounds. No issues except AC blew cold the whole way and I had no way to turn it off. We stayed off the freeways in case I was wrong about SoC. Now waiting for the diagnosis. They have it for the weekend...

Preparing to be towed with black screens

The more I read about this, the more I’m inclined to simply drive the car to the SC. The car had 200+ miles of range available when the screens went dark. I took it around the block and it seems to drive just fine sans screens. The SC is about 25 miles away. For speed control I can follow my...

Preparing to be towed with black screens

2019 Raven MX with both screens black (no reset methods seem to work). It still goes onto R and D so I’m probably able to drive it but who knows for how long. It would be safer to be towed and that’s what the SC instructed me to do. Assuming I can find neutral, is that all that’s needed to...

Both screens black and won’t reset (tried both two button and four button methods)

Nope. Phone doesn't connect. The message from the SC says to have it towed there. I have AAA so I can easily have it towed on a flatbed. It's about 20 miles to the SC.

Both screens black and won’t reset (tried both two button and four button methods)

Unfortunately the warranty expired while I was out of town and the car was sitting in my garage. I purchased an XCare warranty last week but I’m still in the 30 day waiting period. Should I try to disconnect/reconnect the 12v battery? Would that reboot the MCU2? I saw on another thread that...

2019 Raven - What to do? - (warranty, new prices)

My daughter and SIL have a 2023 LR and it’s quicker and quieter. Quieter would be nice but mine’s more than quick enough for me. I could probably get used to the yoke but I’m not a huge fan. Agreed not worth the price to upgrade.

2019 Raven - What to do? - (warranty, new prices)

That’s a really good question. Mine is a Raven Standard Range which is going to be worth less than a long range or performance model. What I do know is that all of these recent price decreases (and especially this last one) have really tanked all MX resale values. We’ve pretty much decided to...

How to protect new front half-shafts

I just picked up my 2019 MX Raven from the SC today for its last in-warranty service (expires next week). Among the repairs was replacement of the front half-shafts. 2019 Raven - What to do? - (warranty, new prices)

Well, I can honestly say I'm in very much a similar boat. 2019 Raven MX with 37K + unlimited SC and warranty up on September 7. I'm not really considering another X. My choices are pretty much down to either purchasing an XCare warranty for 2 years or trading this car for a new Model Y. I...

Set Falcon door to custom height?

That’s what I was afraid of. Thanks. I guess I’ll have to figure out if I’m willing to tackle the adjustment myself or see if the service center will do it. Has anyone had them do this? If so, what did it cost?

Set Falcon door to custom height?

I found where i can set the height to “auto” or “low”. Is there a way to set it to a custom height (e.g. 90% of fully open)? I ask because my passenger side FWD top seal is starting to rub (just in the rear) when fully open and I don’t want it to get worse and damage the seal. I know a door...

Powerwalls installed without CT on non-backed up loads

The CT measurement of the solar output seems the same as my Enphase reporting. But my loads are not all measured. That means the GW senses more surplus Solar than is really there and charges the batteries sooner? Likewise, once the batteries are charged, the GW thinks it’s exporting more to the...

Powerwalls installed without CT on non-backed up loads

Got it for the CTs and battery discharge. I’ll discuss this with the installer. How about solar consumption? Before the PWs and GW, my solar output ran into my panel directly where it would be consumed by all loads in the system and any excess would count as an export to the grid. Now it goes...

Some questions about how Powerwalls, Gateway, Solar and CTs work together

My install is complete (according to my battery installer) and I'm waiting for PTO from SCE. However, I still do not have CTs on any of my non-backed up circuits. 3 of my 4 locations (grid, battery, and solar) appear to be accurate. Home only includes the total of the backed up loads. I...

Powerwalls installed without CT on non-backed up loads

So that I'm clear on this, are you saying that the PWs and/or gateway only discharge the amount of battery energy deemed necessary by the calculated demand based on readings of the CTs? This would explain why I don't see any change in the battery discharge rate during peak hours when I energize...

Powerwalls installed without CT on non-backed up loads

I have 2 ACs serving the main house. The only one that could have feasibly been connected to the backup loads panel is the 5 ton unit. I was concerned that it would drain the batteries too quickly and compromise the refrigerators and other critical circuits. If I could have included the 2 ton...
