How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

I'm 86 years old, bought my first Tesla in 2013 and my dear wife (she's 88 now) circumnavigated the U.S. in April/May 2015, when there were a total of 184 superchargers scattered around the country, mostly in CA. From Seattle to Palm Desert to JAX, Rhode Island, Niagara Falls, Mt. Rushmore...

Can you get rated range in sub-freezing temps?

From what I see on the screen, that's pretty impressive for any EV. I rarely drove my 85D under those conditions, but I can relate to your success with it. Don't believe there's ever been a better means of travel on 4 wheels than the 85/90. Ever.

First EV Road Trip 700+ Miles Roundtrip - Some Observations

We drove from Seattle the southern route to Jacksonville FL, then to New England and home through Buffalo & Chicago. A superb trip and really proved the sense of an EV and the joy of driving it. We learned a bit about RA and trip planning then as well, as it was in March of 2015 and there were...

Best All Weather floor mats for MY

I've beem real happy with my Teslashields floor mats. Fit is excellent and these mats have great weather protection while still being very attractive (other passenger's opinions). I just bought the MY trunk mat, and even more pleased with the design.

    Stupid TWC install cost question…

Well, I suppose you could take your sheetrock wall and main panel to his shop, so he wouldn't have to charge you for travel time. That might save you an hour's labor right there.

Vendor Model Y ELEGANT Series Floor Mats (and a sneak peak at something new)

We recently got our Tesla Shields mats for our MY, and I'm very pleased. They fit very well, and seem to be about halfway between the heavy (and to me "clunky" after a year of aging) Weather Tech types and the original carpet mats. They're 'woven' and moulded - don't know if they're European...

    From Thailand to Seattle

Nothing very fancy for the hitch. A TryLift for my wife's small electric scooter. We're in our 80's, and still looking for a little more traveling around the West. And BTW, if you haven't been in Seattle over the last couple of years, you're in for a surprise, especially around South Lake...

    From Thailand to Seattle

Welcome back to Seattle, and your new MY. Mine, too, should arrive at about the same time (White, Black int. hitch, FSD down the road). I expect it will take a bit to get used to the difference in weather, tho at the moment Seattle is blue skies and 80+ degrees.

Replaced drivetrain on 14 S 85 and need assistance returning the vehicle from Salt Lake City to southern Wisconsin

Given your need to make the trip in under 36 hrs suggests that you use Superchargers that, while perhaps more costly than alternatives, will provide a quicker and more direct routing (to Monroe in So. Wisconsin). A Better Route Planner indicates about 20 hrs. driving time and at least 6:30 for...

    Tesla moments

We were in our 2015 MS - Titanium - in the village of Eastsound, the only 'town' on Orcas Island, WA of any size, though it doesn't have a stoplight. As we pulled up to a stop sign (one of the few in town) the fellow in the Subaru Outback in front of us stopped, opened the door and got out of...

    Autopilot on 2 lane highways

I've been using "co-pilot" (I still can't call it "autopilot") in various iterations since 2013. Notwithstanding numerous software updates, I've noted little improvement in the ability to negotiate lane control at the crest of an uphill right turning curve. Invariably, the car drifts toward...

2016 Model S Battery Degradation Question

I purchased my MS 85D 'GASKIKR' in Nov 2015, when I traded in our 2013 MS 85 (my wife fell in love with the Titanium color, while I liked the AP). As we live in a condo, my only choice is the 20A 110V outlet in my parking space. It's plugged in full time when we're home, at 5-6 mi/hr of...

Official Thread: Cybertruck (Cybrtrk) Event - Nov 21, 2019

Apropos the broken glass . . . I was elected, in the late 60’s, to introduce Black & Decker’s brand new, unbreakable poly 3/8” drill at a fairly large sales meeting of a Midwest Distributor’s staff. After describing of the benefits of this revolutionary new model, I finished by proclaiming its...

Can someone use their car nagivation system to help me?

Talsk, you might be able to convince your condo board to allow you to access a standard 110V outlet. I live in a condo in Seattle, and our board was also opposed to the lengthy process of getting owner support for 'charging stations', which sound complex and a bit intimidating to owners who...

    Good deal on 2013 S85?

Can't comment on the price, but this 'mirrors' our first MS, which we traded for a 2015 85D. I kinda miss the large frunk, other than that there's very little noticeable difference between our first and second, and in fact I miss the old girl. Yeah, 4 wheel drive is cool, especially in snow...

Do you use a Tesla Wall Connector?

It will soon be 6 years since my first MS (Oct. 2013). The condo where I live in Seattle allows me a 20A 110V outlet that gets me 6 mi/hr. I've never had a problem, as even starting with only 30 - 40 miles 'in the tank', I have well over 100 by next morning (12hrs.x 6). After nearly 3 years...

    Visiting from Seattle

We're going to be in Sydney and NSW for most of November, and I'm curious if renting a Model S (or X or 3) is on offer? I have owned an MS since Nov 13, and would hate to have to rent an ICE for a run up to Brisbane, or anywhere for that matter. If you visit Seattle, maybe we could swap some...

    Why I Won't Be Purchasing My 3rd Model S

Well, some people like to work for a company where everyone wears a suit and tie . . . and some like an environment that permits . . . no, encourages, its folks to be more concerned with performance than appearance. Can't fault a 'suit and tie' guy to want to move back to his 'suit and tie'...

A Pitch for Autopilot Driver Training

What is "auto-pilot" after all. In an airplane, "level 1" autopilot keeps the wings level in flight, and, in many cases, maintains the existing altitude. At the next level, the aircraft will track an airway, and make appropriate turns as required. Even the most sophisticated autopilots, that...

Does anyone charge from a regular wall outlet?

I installed a 20A 110V (5-20) outlet in my space in the parking garage in our condo in Seattle 4 ½ years ago, and have been using it ever since. We're on our second MS now, an 85D - since Nov 16 - and have had no problems. I drive (exclusive of road trips) about 7K miles/year, and I have a...

I, too, have been running "naked" at the front of my MS (this one and my 1st one) for the last 4+ years . . . touch wood! I hate the thought of messing up the front end of this beautiful machine, either mechanically or aesthetically. I did the same years ago with my new Mazda Miata, but kept...
