    2022 LR range - throttling?

Well, if your '22s are losing that much "estimated range", after this update my 2020 will show 20 km at 100%!

Model 3 LR AWD - Two Year Snapshot

Hi Bubbatech! Thanks for chiming in. The car has been kept between 50 and 80% for the majority of its life, being charged to 100% maybe twice, maybe not even that. I had the car sit for prolonged periods of time at different SoCs, in order for the BMS to get multiple readings...

Model 3 LR AWD - Two Year Snapshot

My 2020 M3P is at 94k miles now. As I got it new it showed 499 km (310 miles) when I slid the charging limit to 100%. Now I can't seem to find a way to visualise that. Even if I set to show my range in mi instead of percentage, sliding the charging limit up and down doesn't show a distance...

    2018 Model 3 HW2.5 vs 2020 Model 3 HW3.0

My HW3 cars both have radar hardware, but it has been deactivated via software update. That it not the case on HW2.5 cars... At the moment I see no advantage in having this "Tesla Vision" thing. Are there any?

    2018 Model 3 HW2.5 vs 2020 Model 3 HW3.0

I would take a 2.5 car over a 3 just because I'd get the radar back. And I want that radar back.

    High mileage check-in

I waited six hours at the Service center two weeks ago, because it was far enough from where I came from for it not to be worth it. It should have been four hours, but their planning was abysmal. Also, it would have been nice if they did not make one problem worse and did not back into something...

    High mileage check-in

My 2020 is at 88k miles and on the original control arms, the 2021 is at 43k miles and I had them replaced two weeks ago due to horrible squeaking. Unfortunately the Tesla service center ****ed up everything else...

    High mileage check-in

I am up there with you, my 2020 Performance I got in Jan 2020 has raked up just about 88000 miles. I am starting to look at alternatives but, for the moment being, I am a bit stumped. I have gas cars, I'd like to replace this one with an EV. I want it to be latest gen though, and not a Tesla...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Are you now talking about driving on cruise control? It's not what I meant. This adaptive functionality is still a one pedal driving kinda thing of which you are in control and, depending on the driving mode you're in, behaves differently. The car did not do anything I was not expecting it to...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Last week I had a BMW i4 M50 and drove it a lot. It has this Adaptive Regen function, it was incredible. It knew when you wanted more (or less) regen and did it all by itself. The traffic light your coming onto is red? Stronger regen. There are cars in front of you? Stronger regen. Lift off on a...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

I was waiting for this refresh to sell both of my Model 3 Performance and buy a new one. Aside from the fact that we don't know what to expect from the new Performance (I hope it's going to be interesting!), this refresh is a bit of a downer to me. I appreciate the more silent cabin the most...

    Slow and stuttery after update

Thanks to all of you who chimed in! It is now clear that there is no way back now. I have not contacted Tesla about the issue. On the one hand because my warranty's up either way, but mostly because I found the quality of service horrific and hated every interaction I ever had with these...

    Slow and stuttery after update

Hi nice people! Two weeks ago I had the brilliant idea to update the software in my 2020 3P. Until then it was on a 2022.xx version and it was kind of smooth sailing. The car updated to 2023.20.8 first. I immediately noticed some things were amiss, such as the tiny car showing on the tire...

Top of Model 3 Production Quality

I really hope it's not the standard rule, but my 2020 3P with 80k miles has comparable build quality to my neighbor's 22LR. There is one difference though, his doors have a better closing sound. I should probably grease the links a bit...

    2023 M3 RWD Performance Specs

I think he commented under the video that the car was new and he wasn't particularly well informed... There is no indication of him using Chill mode in the video or in the description, just that tiny icon on the screen for them who know where to look. It's a fair oversight!

I just ran into a curb

I damaged both my rockers on multiple occasions. The first time around, it was cheap, the second time was pretty expensive. The last repair was eyewatering... thank you insurance! It really depends, but in your case it looks like one of those cheap occurrences. I’d relax about it.

    Tsportline 18" Wheels!

I have a set of TSS 18” in gloss black since Jan 2020, I drove through 4 winters and just under 60k miles on them. If I hadn’t curbed the *sugar* out of them, they’s be fine.

Any way to streamline the software of my Atom Model 3?

Thank you for your answer! I do indeed have a USB micro-SD reader plugged into the center console. it's only used to save Dashcam footage in case of an accident or upon application of the horn, since I do not use Sentry mode at all. I checked this afternoon and the most recent saved piece of...

Mysterious Model 3 squeaking and flapping noise

I have this squeaky sound coming from the backrest of the rear bench. I will take it out and grease it up one day or another, unfortunately I tend to have other things to worry about and end up remembering the squeak only when I get back in the car.

Any way to streamline the software of my Atom Model 3?

Hi people! This morning I experienced extreme sluggishness of the software of my car. Every step on the screen happened at least 20-30 seconds after my command, if at all. Thirty seconds after driving off, the screen still showed the car in park with the driver's door ajar I drove backwards...

Car advertising SBC Codec only, Not AAC

Is there any way to check the codec an iPhone is using while connected? I also have the feeling that the audio quality went down the drain on my 2020 3P. Can't even listen to an audiobook without cranking up the volume only to understand the dialogues.

Hi people! Sorry for bumping up an oldish thread. Yesterday I used AP on the motorway for the first time since months. It was a busy afternoon, lots of stop-and-go traffic. I remember the car being smooth and smart about these situations in particular (I tend to use AP mainly for stop-and-go...

Instructions to remove left B-pillar trim / headliner? Hunting a rattle!

Hey @g_man28, I did not see the notification. I was able to locate the source of the rattle, the b-pillar cover's plastic structure sits directly against the metal of the body and rattled away. I was able to fit a piece of fabric in between plastic and metal (it wasn't easy though) at a...

Water Pooling in Frunk After Automated Touchless Car Wash

I have water pooling in the frunk after heavy rain since the very beginning of my ownership. I took photos of the fact and brought it up at the SC more than once. The reply was always "we couldn't replicate, so no idea where the water could be entering. Bye." Needless to say, this is one of...

    330 Wh/mile av. over 20K miles. Isn’t it high?

The lifetime consumption in my 2020 3P is 165 Wh/km / 265 Wh/mi over 126k km / 78k mi, we see some cold temps here from time to time... Just not this year, this winter has been all wrong thus far.

Can the accelerator pedal be lubricated?

I'm on the same boat as the OP, my 2020 has developed a slightly sticky pedal over the course of the last year or so. It tends to want to stick in any given position I set it to. It's pretty obvious, since I also drive a 2021 regularly. Any recommendations?

Model 3 long range range based on wheel size. Not available online

You are probably right, I edited the post again while you were writing your message! I wrote in the Notes app on my phone that the car showed 499km / 310mi at 100% back in April 2020. I could have been still on the 18" winter set!

Model 3 long range range based on wheel size. Not available online

That would mean a loss of rated range of 50 miles within 3 years, which would be awful! EDIT: to clarify, the car started with 499km / 310mi when new, I can't seem to remember if the car was already set on 18s or still on 20s. The website and my order confirmation boasted a 530km / 330mi range...

Model 3 long range range based on wheel size. Not available online

My 2020 Performance indicates now around 280 miles at 100% while on 18" wheels (calculation by me, I usually do not charge to 100%). Next time I'm in the car I'll switch the computer to the 20" and see what happens to the rated range, I am indeed curious!

    Model 3 for commuting

In my case some roads do not cause any instances of phantom braking, while it happens constantly on others routes. I guess you'd be better off taking a loaner down your commute and try for yourself.

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

If you have nothing against keeping the car (aka it is no nuisance to your everyday life), I'd keep it. Why realise a loss of 16k on a functional appliance? Or do you already have your eyes and heart set on something new?

    Keep phantom drain under control

Hey Alan, what software are you using to show the 12v battery status? That'd be useful to know if A. the car actually sleeps, and B. how often the car has to wake up to charge the 12v battery.
