FSD purchased with vehicle or post delivery - does it matter?

I can't believe people are still talking about paying for it? A fool and his money etc.....
  3. B

FSD purchased with vehicle or post delivery - does it matter?

even the radar cruse control doesn't work properly. any type of steering doesn't like fog/mist/blocked cameras/parked cars/merge lanes on A roads etc etc.
  4. B

FSD purchased with vehicle or post delivery - does it matter?

save your money. it'll never work properly. just a total waste of money.

    how low will you go!?

    i've seen 225kw a few times
  6. B

    how low will you go!?

Thats got to be the winner!? I've no issue with going to circa 5%, just below that when on a motorway run did make me a little nervous!!
  7. B

    how low will you go!?

I ran my car down to 2% today..... anyone taken theirs lower? Managed circa 255miles off 98%.

RHD specific issues with v11 UI changes

yes but do your hands block the mirrors? that's the one part that needs to work, the cameras are an additional factor. would you ever move lanes by just using the cameras?

can you cancel fSD and get a refund under online/distance selling?

where will we be in 3 years time?

at least we all agree FSD still won't be here!
  12. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

i'm only using my crystal ball to look forward 3 years. in 8 years, who knows what the rules will be, if they develop synthetic fuels that could change things.
  13. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

I totally agree, however when they're 3 years old, thousands of them get dropped onto the used car market.
  14. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

The other aspect to where we'll be in 3 years is taxation..... If we've 20 EV's as company cars at work, every one of them is only there because of the 0 or low BiK. multiply that up and you can see where lots of sales are coming from...... If the BiK rates go up, sales will go down.
  15. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

Its costing me £1280 to have a 3 phase supply fitted, that should give me 22kw of charge, or 11kw with the model 3. Really is dependant on every house.
  16. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

That reads like a daily mail article. Diesel cars are going up in value as they're not selling as many 'new' now. They're not expensive to run. I ran a Mercedes e400d, which was an amazingly clean engine, was quicker than a model 3 in the 'real world', while being so desirable, it sold for...

where will we be in 3 years time?

Iphones/apple products are popular because they 'just work'. that's something we can't say. the build quality on apple stuff is also amazing. Again, something we can't say. Lets hope they keep up with improving the cars.
  18. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

I’m surprised people see Tesla as an ‘apple’ or luxury type item. It’s totally not at all. My work car park is full of teslas, you should have seen the excitement when someone had a Kia EV6 to test(along with orders placed). They need to keep the supercharger network ‘closed’ and keep...

where will we be in 3 years time?

    Tesla aren’t supply constrained?
  20. B

where will we be in 3 years time?

So with 'boat loads' of cars arriving now, where do we think we'll be in 3 years time? will Tesla update the model 3 before 2045? Is the current success of Tesla more to do with competition catching up? ie, in 3 years time, they'll be so much choice, would you stay with Tesla? I'm enjoying...

And so the spread of the EV equivalent of japanese knotweed continues

What’ll be more ‘progressive’ is when people stop quoting 0-60 numbers, as it makes zero difference. I they real world, it’s the 30-90 that matters and repeatability. There’s still live in ICE cars. Just as there’s an electric future. I really don’t get the pissing contest that people...

And so the spread of the EV equivalent of japanese knotweed continues

that's why I had a blue one, with the other wheels. Lets face it, they make more than they can sell now, its taken them ages to get there. All the other EV's are on a long lead time. A model 3, in 3-4 years will be like the Toyota Prius. that's a complement.

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

Don't forget to add the monthly sub cost to BP.

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

I'm not using worse case, it was clear its when using for 'long' trips away from home etc. I did over 500 miles in a day, it was a breeze using the supercharger network, however it wasn't any cheaper and took a little longer. on anything other than that sort of use, the EV should be cheaper...
  26. B

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

well I'm sorry you feel that way. The reason I jumped out was my car had increased by over £10k from what I paid for it 9 months previously. I didn't want the cost of running/servicing/insuring a big expensive car myself, so with the short lead times, went EV. I don't regret it. I'm just...

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

motorway superchargers, say 40p kWh. then consumption(my own as I know what it does), tally that upto what my previous car did. that's where my answer comes from. I know this is a Tesla forum, however I'm not blinded by the 'musk factor'. its an honest appraisal. Also, you can get paid...

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

lets not worry about 0-60, lets talk 40-100, real world range. its not the HP, its the torque of the e400d motor. Having owned both, I'm in the correct position to give a genuine opinion.
  29. B

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

you will. I had a Mercedes e400d 'all terrain'. 3.0 twin turbo diesel. it'd do 50mpg on the motorway at 80-5mpg. while also having the same performance as a model 3 long range.
  30. B

Charging with no home charger is just as expensive as petrol?

Basically if your car does 50mpg it more expensive. city driving, EV will be cheaper, motorway work, the EV will cost more and take more time.

    545 mile day tomorrow

The other point is, its no cheaper than a 50mpg diesel car....

    model 3 efficiency?

A copy from my 500 mile day thread. This was about 90% motorway. "So..... Day done! Just Landed back home(19.47). Managed to get a free charge at hop wood park on the way up, not on the way down!? Last 150miles 277 wh/mi. Basically it was zero issue at all, now that might just be the...

So..... Day done! Just Landed back home(19.47). Managed to get a free charge at hop wood park on the way up, not on the way down!? Last 150miles 277 wh/mi. Basically it was zero issue at all, now that might just be the charging network, however as a 'tool'. the car did what it needed to...

    545 mile day tomorrow

If I can get from home to the Grantham superchargers, that's 238 miles.... I'd be amazed if I could get that far.

    545 mile day tomorrow

It’ll be a good comparison, I have my cabin at 20deg. Not sure how much the heat pump gives towards efficiency
  38. B

    545 mile day tomorrow

it started with EV owners :). So 73mph, where do you think my efficiency will sit? think it'll hit 4miles per KWH? Or 3?
  39. B

    545 mile day tomorrow

Currently sat charging upto 100%. I've set the precondition also. It'll be interesting to see how far it'll go on the motorway.
  40. B

    545 mile day tomorrow

no its a mercedes dash 54, which was a real 50mpg. which it'd do sat at 80mph.
  41. B

    545 mile day tomorrow

I’m not sure how 40p kw/h at superchargers. Compares to 50mpg

    545 mile day tomorrow

First proper long day in the car. In my old e400d it'd not even use a full tank of fuel and be totally painless....... I wonder what it'll bring in a model 3.

Wiki [UK] V11 UI Changes and Features

Great post. its actually all at bit more common sense. People just need to try it for a week, not sit in it for 20 mins and decide. I've a 600 day coming up. One where I hope I don't miss the 800 mile range of my old e400d.

    Tesla app a bit rubbish?

    trip history/custom routing/route planning(in detail)/energy useage etc.
  48. B

    model 3 efficiency?

yes it was made of multiple journeys, with about 120miles of it being at motorway speeds. I can't remember properly.... 1x 90 mile motorway round trip(45 each way) 1x40 mile a road(dual carriage) round trip 1x30 mile a road round trip(duel carriage) The rest multiple 1-10 mile trips.
  49. B

    Tesla app a bit rubbish?

thanks all, so it seems it is a bit 'crappy' but it does work. my bmw and Mercedes app from 4 years ago just offered 'more'.
  50. B

    model 3 efficiency?

Cool. glad its on the ballpark. there's lots of short journeys in there also. Also included a bit of a 'race' with a bmw m4 which reached about 1.25 leptons :)
