Model Y - Boot lid creak on opening/close- Fixed

I’m afraid I didn’t take pictures as the service team were doing it. But basically the interior trim that runs around the boot lid and to the glass comes away with a firm pull, revealing the metal work. They had trim tools to help remove it. Just to the left of the where the hinge is welded to...

Model Y - Boot lid creak on opening/close- Fixed

Yes. Only noise is the normal one from the power strut. Creak is gone.

Model Y - Boot lid creak on opening/close- Fixed

I had posted about this issue in a somewhat related thread but it’s pretty buried and doesn’t show up when searching for boot noises (possibly due to our friends’ desire to call it a trunk). Anyway - had a metallic creaking sound near the passenger side boot lid hinge as it finished opening or...

    Noisy headlining

I have something that sounds very much like this. Weird kind of creak, though much much quieter than the chap in the video @Keldron subject linked to above. Mine also seems to be triggered by broken roads - like a little judder sets it off. The wonders of South East London surfaces mean that...

New Tesla Model Y stuck on 6AMPS when charging on 7KW charger

Also, a possibility based on my experience (albeit with Ohme HP not Hypervolt) is that is could be something "in between" the supply and the unit itself - in my case charging was being limited to 16A by the unit because of a fault of the CT clamp which I'm told helped with the load balancing...

Maintain charge limit after charge session has ended

Really helpful, thank you. Makes even more sense as currently my Wallbox is limiting itself to 4kw, thanks to a faulty CT clamp.

Maintain charge limit after charge session has ended

Have an almost identical scenario and "issue", save for it's an Ohme Home Pro instead of an Easee. Had picked up the helpful explanation @browellm gives above from a different thread, and unsurprisingly the experienced hive mind seems to be right - based on seeing how much drop off there is as...

    Model Y UK Delivery

In case helpful to both you and @novemberRomeo - when I collected mine from Bluewater, because of the Saharan sand that had been blown all over the cars kept on the roof of the carpark, they had sensibly decided not to have the "cleaning" team try to wipe them down. Instead, they said you could...

Post your day one Model Y and Model 3 UK pictures

Yep, can totally see that argument - it really should be spot on. Just grateful that seems to be the only issue, on an otherwise faultless build (*touches all available wood*)

Post your day one Model Y and Model 3 UK pictures

Looks great. And a very similar experience to my collection. Out of interest, did you book in to get the PPF bubbles sorted? Mine has literally two bubbles, one on each side, and I'm really not sure I can be effed to log it and have someone come out...

    Model Y UK Delivery

I know this has been discussed before but cannot find the posts for the life of me. I’m picking up in 1 hour and the car isn’t registered with DVLA yet, so my insurer won’t hit the button without a proper reg number. Those who have collected already, did they register the car whilst you were...

    Model Y UK Delivery

Interesting. I’m picking up from Bluewater on 18th. Had 17th or 18th as choice. All very random…

    Model Y UK Delivery

Same here. All good! *opens wallet and cries*
  14. H

    Model Y UK Delivery

I’m sure it’ll come through soon. Well done for just going for it. No doubt I’ll “wait and see” for a bit just like I did wondering if TSLA stock might be about to shoot up…

    Model Y UK Delivery

Given the flurry of deliveries, thought I’d give the delivery scheduling link a go, even though I haven’t had “the text”. And it works…I could book in my collection. Question for you guys is - has anyone done this in that scenario? I’m keen to get it booked in of course, but don’t want to mess...

    Model Y UK Delivery

I’m in SE so Bluewater isn’t a disaster but Southampton is…a completely different part of the country. I didn’t ask about home delivery but read others having some success with that, maybe worth exploring?

    Model Y UK Delivery

Ditto. And this is a day after I spoke to them on the phone and was told that VIN definitely assigned and looking at 23-31 March. Which I suppose just overlaps with the new delivery window online. They also told me my (and I’d guess your) collection option would be Bluewater or Southampton.

    Model Y UK Delivery

This is consistent with what @JL17433 has said on the other delivery thread - and in this mysterious process, feels like any consistency in messaging is a decent sign. I’ll try and give them a shout tomorrow and let you know if that makes three of us being told the same.

    Model Y UK Delivery

And this is why I've been refreshing the thread for your update. Thanks very much.

    Model Y UK Delivery

I’m in the same boat as @rubberduck (and a few others I think) but have a VIN allocated and the scheduler still doesn’t work. Here’s hoping it’s just waiting for next steps to be completed at Tesla’s end, rather than any significant delay. 🥴

    Model Y UK Delivery

As seems to always be the case with our orders, exactly the same happened with me today. I’m hoping it’s a tweak preceding the contract/invoice appearing with a more fixed date, rather than being told May-June…

Thanks - making me feel much better about the prospect of a 20kg whippet alongside a buggy.

    Model Y UK Delivery

There's a a few YouTube videos where people have tested the range in a reasonably scientific way on each wheel - try Bjorn Nyland or GJeebs. Basically they conclude that the difference in Tesla's range estimates between the two is about right, i.e. 15-20 miles more on 19". The ride is more...

    Model Y UK Delivery

As @JL17433 says, great outcome. Out of interest, where were you aiming to collect from? I've just got a VIN this morning but also vaguely tempted to switch to 20s...certainly not at the trade off of a May delivery though.

    Model Y UK Delivery

Same here - also London based and ordered same time as you. I'm assuming I'll be moved to Bluewater now Brent Cross (which I'd selected) has closed. Praying it isn't on a Saturday as I doubt "picking up the actual baby" will be an acceptable excuse to miss NCT classes...

    Model Y UK Delivery

I have done this - got a valuation through for my '20 A Class at the weekend and it was within a couple of hundred pounds of the offers I had through Carwow, WBAC, Motorway etc. So for the significant difference in convenience, it was worth going with Tesla for me.

Breaking fixed Octopus plan to move to Go?

I'm in exactly the same boat (save I'm waiting on a MYLR and probably won't arrive until later in March). A friend who works at Ofgem said it would be sensible to put the question to Octopus as they are essentially obliged to give you the info as to best rate for you - of course that's tricky...

Model 3 - Dog and Baby Tetris.

Thanks very much! Really helpful. Yeah had wondered about the boot opening. Seems like there’s probably enough space actually in there…it’s just getting the stuff in there to start with. I’d be much more inclined to just go for a Y if the dealer hadn’t told me he thinks that late June...

Model 3 - Dog and Baby Tetris.

Long time after your post I know...but I don't suppose you have an update on the whippet and new baby scenario in your Model 3? We will be in exactly the same situation early next year. I'm longing for a Model 3 and don't really want the extra size of a Model Y but fear it might be impractical...
