Following up, it's still broken. For a little while it was working and if I reformat and delete the old clips it works again for a little while, but inevitably the red X shows up. Running 2022.12.3.12. Hope they figure this out soon, its annoying.

I've had this problem with other "auto wiper" systems - in both BMW and Acura cars. Both of which sometimes would just randomly do a couple of wipes when there's not a cloud in the sky. Not sure if this is specifically a Tesla bug.

Personally I find it awkward, uncomfortable for long periods, and ultimately it is not any safer than the 8-4 position. If your hand is blocking your view of the screen, there's an easy solution - move your hand.

I don't know what Tesla could do to fix that issue aside from installing their own nationwide cellular network or some sort of satellite based system which would be WAY expensive. I think that's more of a problem with the cellular providers (ATT, Verizon, etc) out there in your area.

Obviously, not well at all. But, I live in a major metro area and even when I travel to rural areas I rarely encounter areas of NO cell service for very long. It's a tradeoff I can live with.

Yikes. Im lucky, my son is an electrician, he helped me do it last weekend and I paid him $250. Mounted charger about 2 feet from the breaker box so it wasn't too much trouble. Running/fishing the wire through the wall was the trickiest part. I bought the G3 charger direct from Tesla ($500).

Im gonna call BS on that. I've lived in VA for 30+ years and the PP tax is much lower than it used to be, though it is still an annual nuisance. Anyone who had to sell their car because the PP tax was too much probably was wayyyy overextended and couldn't afford that car in the first place.
