You may want to check State law, here in Arizona the HOA CANNOT say anything or prevent you from installing solar. We can install without notifying HOA.

I recommend getting 2 Powerwalls and if you can offset your usage 100%, (check with your electric company), then go bigger on the system.

We have our A/C set at 75 degrees and right now at 0330 Monday morning the outside temp is 70 degrees. From Midnight to now our house has used 4kW with the A/C kicking on every hour or so. We have a 16 SEER 5 ton unit that's 2 years old, (Bryant/Carrier).

We have a 9.45kw system with a peak power of 6.8kW and during summer our 2 PWs charge just enough to last past our peak time to around 9:30pm. 20/20 hindsight wished we would have added a 3rd PW.

It's really not that difficult to replace. Just lift the panel, detach the old and install the new.

We replaced our old A/C with a 5 ton 16 seer Bryant, (Carrier), in July of 2021 and have NO issue with it starting off of our two PWs. We didn't install a soft start.

True about resetting thermostat when in an outage. In our system, the stove, microwave, washer and dryer are NOT on the backup. So we only need to be mindful of the A/C being the big draw, (especially in summer here in AZ).

Yes, I had the same issue when Sunrun replaced my Neurio meter. Turned out they had the meter and the gateway set as "site" when the neurio should not have been set as that. have Tesla check those settings.

Problem with generator is the delay on startup. All the components of aquarium would have to restart, lighting, circulation pumps, heater, skimmer, etc...
