The big unknown: Will gen 3 be delivered on time?

I think competition is a non-issue for the Model III, even if the Volt is remotely competitive. No one besides has answered the nationwide, fast, consistent charging problem. They could deliver the car two years late and they'll still be fine, because no way a Toyota, GM, Ford, BMW, or MB are...

Elon "About to end range anxiety"

Were you range charging at every supercharger? The problem I see with long trips is knowing when to leave the supercharger, not necessarily making sure you have enough range. I know this has been covered several times in this thread, and I'm sure Tesla could come up with some smarter ways to...

    Avoid Blink Charging Stations

There's a special place in hell for this company. They have zero regard for the fact they block chargers that some other people plan to use or rely on. I had to buy their stupid pass just so I could move their dumb cars and charge.

    Stranded at Snowbowl

Well realistically, AZ is really, really hard on batteries. Crappy time for it to go out, but not out of the norm. My experience is that the average car battery in AZ is lucky to last longer than 24 months. Hopefully the family had a good time regardless!

Phoenix to Telluride - Totally Doable and FREE!

Now that ski season is upon us I made the trek from Phoenix (well Scottsdale) to Telluride. I didn't take any notes and evtrippllaner.com isn't loading at the moment but I did want to share that the trip is totally doable without too much stress. On the way there I went...

    Roof/Ski Rack Range Impact

I have the Whispbar with the clamp snowboard/ski mount (can't recall the actual name), very little impact if any at all. I usually carry 4 snowboards and drive 75 on the interstate. Does yours generate a lot of wind noise?

    AZ Club Members . . . . What's Next?

This is probably obvious, but with such a large member base why don't we "gang up" on establishments and make a push for destination charging in and around AZ? I realize we're essentially spoiled with Superchargers, which are great. But there's still tons of attractions that you have to go way...

    Range increase while parked?

Did you notice a substantial change in the outside air temp?

    Supercharger - Indio, CA (LIVE, 36 V3 + 8 V2 + 2 Urban stalls)

Did you try restarting the app? I noticed since the new version of the app came out, the first time you connect to the car it worked no problem. Second time it just sat with the progress bar spinning endlessly. Closed the app, and walla, connects right away.

    Supercharger - Casa Grande, AZ

Hey Stealth, as KK7P mentioned, there's a charger in Picacho right off the highway and one at Bookmans on Speedway (4-5 miles from i10), both are roughly 40MPH charge rates if I remember correctly. I have a RV plug about 15 miles south of Kartchner Caverns (in Whetstone) that you're more than...
  11. R

    Supercharger - Casa Grande, AZ

The charge rates definitely averaged by some factor. Unplug at 210~ rated and then plug back in and you'll see. But you're right, charge times really aren't that bad, especially if you have something to do.
  12. R

    Supercharger - Casa Grande, AZ

Is this the first time you supercharged? I just don't remember my car tappering that low at 150~ rated miles, and I have a A battery. Can't wait to use this supercharger this coming weekend. How much range did you leave Tucson with and how fast did you go? I try and arrive with 10-15 miles and...

    2013 White (Orange) P85+ - SOLD

It's worth mentioning this guy obsesses over his car and takes extremely good care of it. If I were in the market for a second Tesla I'd pounce on this!

    Supercharger - Casa Grande, AZ

Well sorry to get you guys disappointed over nothing! I was told there was equipment at Chevron and a article in the paper. Couldn't find the article (except for a mention a long time ago about the blink chargers) and it's clear there's no equipment.... Frustrating!!!!!

    Supercharger - Casa Grande, AZ

Dun dun, dun dun! Maybe I should have labelled it as potential hearsay, but a friend, who is from CG said he saw Tesla labelled equipment in the parking lot. I know someone posted earlier that they called the City and they were told it was going to be installed at the Culver's, but that...

Model S Whispbar Roof Rack System - SOLD

I have this same rack on my car and I'm sure many others do, but not only does it look good (I think), it's very quiet and sturdy. Well worth the money, and you can't complain about saving a few bucks buying it second hand.

    Arizona Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

This is great news! This charger is going to be such a life saver for Tesla people in Phoenix and southern AZ and opens up a lot of awesome destinations for Phoenix people.

Phoenix to Durango - any advice?

I've done this like 4 times without a single problem (minus one issue). 1) You can make it directly to the Holbrook supercharger and bypass Flagstaff unless you have a reason to go there. I live just east of Shea and the 101 and I can make it to Holbrook with about 30 miles of range remaining...
  26. R

    Phoenix to Albuquerque

Depending upon what part of PHX, going to Holbrook through Payson is no sweat in a 85. I can make it either way to the 101 and Shea with at least 40 miles of range, carrying a bunch of weight and a roof rack with snowboards. Be careful though, the tesla nav tries to send you south of Heber...

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

I call, wheep, and complain every day checking on the permit.
  28. R

    Supercharger - Cordes Junction, AZ

This supercharger is superfrustrating. I don't understand why this one is being built prior to say Casa Grande? Maybe it's a permitting or approval issue, but Phoenix -> Flagstaff is totally doable in a 85 at this point, but you can't make it too far south.

    Arizona Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

I do this trip all the time. Bookmans on Speedway and Country Club (I believe) has a Level II charger (charges at 40MPH). I usually plug in and leave the car for a couple hours and have plenty of range to make it back to North Scottsdale at a reasonable speed. I can't wait for the Chademo...

    Supercharger - Gila Bend, AZ

I think it takes a bit to get more and more comfortable with the range. Especially when using EVTripper. The more trips I take the less anxious I am while driving. I just use evtripper, put in the speedmultiplier and add 10% for comfort and it's been pretty close or a bit over every time. Once...
  33. R

    Supercharger - Gila Bend, AZ

Definitely doable in a 85 doing the speed limit with plenty of margin! evtripper seemed to be a bit inaccurate, I used about 215 Rated and it had forcasted 250~. Had a great trip this past weekend (minus Cars2Go nightmare in San Diego).

    Destination Charging

You're right. I'm sure Amsterdam has a much more substantial infrastructure and I would assume that travel distances are substantially lower than they are here in the US. The parking lots in question are only open from 4AM to 10PM, the cars were gone at night and re-appeared during the day. It...

    Destination Charging

Well it is ridiculous. That's fine if they have an agreement, just use half the spaces. It was memorial day weekend, their cars didn't move all day long. On top of that they blocked the spots on either side of the chargers at the three parking lots I tried. They'll go bankrupt soon enough. They...

    Destination Charging

Haha, thanks... You have to pay for them to pull your MVR record, $35.00 and that takes up to a week. I needed to get back over the hill to go home to AZ. I get that they want their vehicles accessible and charged, but it's bogus that they take nearly every spot imaginable.
  37. R

    Destination Charging

They were plugged in. I was so frustrated I signed up for their stupid service to see if I could move them my self and was told it would take up to a week to process my driving record. Based on the tons of complaints on plugshare about it, these guys do this every single day. Best part is I...

    Destination Charging

It's been a while since I posted in this thread but had a ridiculous experience in San Diego this weekend. There's tons of public charging locations but they're way too slow or wrongly used. A company called cars2go has cars spread out throughout the city and insists on blocking all charging...

Would you sell just one grey 21? Looking for a spare tire.
  42. R

    Supercharger - Gallup, NM

A word of warning about Gallup. This town has some of the worst roads I've ever seen. On a trip here two weeks ago I hit a pot hole on US491 in the middle of the night and destroyed a tire. You can bet none of the tire stores here had a 21 inch tire. THANK GOD FOR TESLA RANGER SERVICE!

Buyer Beware: Misleading descriptions in sale of used "Signature" Model S, P02618

You're right, my bad. Here's what was funky, car has air suspension but no tech package.

Buyer Beware: Misleading descriptions in sale of used "Signature" Model S, P02618

Here's the moroney for this car. I owned the car for about a 40 day period, it drove fine, charged fine, but as you can imagine, it's really lacking - no air suspension, no tech package, no pano roof, funky interior color, etc. It is absolutely not a Signature car.

    Car wash in Phoenix

Avoid at all costs. They damaged my car (put a nasty ding in it) right in front of me. I was pretty cool about it until they all started pretending it did not happen.

    Distances between Super Chargers inaccurate

You just end up with a "Maps" button instead of "Nav" and you don't get any sort of turn by turn directions.
  47. R

    Supercharger - Buckeye, AZ

Great post! Wind can have a massive effect. Yesterday I went from Holbrook to Flagstaff, drove 75 MPH ~90 mile trek approximately. I charged up to 150 rated range in Holbrook, didn't notice any wind until I got on the highway, and by the time I got towards Flagstaff, forgetting the massive...

    Supercharger - Buckeye, AZ

I covered basically the same distance (i17/i10 interchange) to Flagstaff super charger - 144 mile trip. Went 70-75 whole way and arrived with 19 miles of range..
  49. R

    Arizona Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

And that route would eat up your rated range, there's quiet a few steep hill climbs.

    Supercharger - Holbrook, AZ

That's exactly what I thought. It did happen really fast, I pulled up, plugged in, watched the dash - no joy. Then the guy yelled across the parking lot saying he had forgotten to "turn it on this morning." He did something and the car started charging. Then a greyhound bus showed up and the...
