    Model Y heating failure

Yup, happened to me. In minus 10 degrees celsius weather 150 km from home. It was a cold ride back! Like Boones said, open a service ticket and have Tesla fix it. It took a couple of visits but they finally fixed it and climate has been working great ever since.

Large increase in AP phantom deceleration and incorrect lane selection

Me. Car didn't slam to a full stop, but braked hard enough for no apparent reason to scare me a little. It's also tried to pull me into the wrong lane a couple of times.

Salt damage to 2021 Model 3 in winter?

Hey there, hope you're doing good over there in Quebec City. I've looked through the owner's manual and can't see anything about rustproofing. But driving in QC winters and NOT rustproofing my vehicle is causing me serious corrosion anxiety. Are you saying that my MY doesn't need rustproofing?

    Windshield Stone Chip

Just had same issue up here in QC. My local windshield place agreed to do a no-guarantees chip fix, but said most places wouldn't touch a Tesla. It was a double chip, so the fix wasn't perfect. I guess I'll have to go to my nearest Tesla SC 1 1/2 hrs away in the next few months to replace the...

    Wiper and high beam issue

This just happened to me last night. Turned on my cruise control and my wipers went crazy - at full speed. My windshield was bone dry and clean. Very distracting to have to fuddle with the wiper control (only for it to have no effect). I had to exit cruise control to get the wipers to stop...

    Sensitivity of “auto” wipers

Hmm... interesting to know that it's not just on Tesla vehicles. Sounds like it's more of a technology issue.

Need Help/Advice - First 38 Days With MYLR - Terrible Experience

Sorry to hear about your experience. I hope it starts going better for you. I got my 2022 MYLR AWD in Dec 21 and we've had a few service calls since. Sometimes the remote service was able to come, other times I had to make the 75 min drive to my nearest SC - including to repair/replace the heat...

    MYLR

There are more happy MYLRers out there than this forum might suggest. As you may have noticed, people are more inclined to spread negativity than positivity online 😄 Besides, forums are geared toward asking questions about concerns and issues (I think that's a good thing). So it biases...

    Calibration in Minnesota winter

After a winter of driving my MYLR AWD in snowy, icy and slushy conditions in Quebec (I'm assuming you get much of the same during your Minnesota winters), I strongly urge you to drive with the same care and caution in winter conditions as you would with any other car. The Model Y is a good car...

    Something rolling around

FWIW, I got the vent covers and installed them. Took 5 minutes. They're pretty flimsy and I couldn't get one to snap into place quite as firmly as the other, but they are in place and so far under the driver's seat that no rear seat passenger should be able to kick them out of place. Hopefully...

Cabin Climate control system requires service

Yup, just happened to me too. Talk about a chilly ride home in sub zero temps. Thank goodness the heated seats and steering wheel still worked. Car isn't even a year old. Now they want me to drive more than another hour to the nearest SC. Not thrilled about that.

iPhone Key doesn't work after update

This happens to me from time to time with a software update. usually the problem resolves itself within a day or two. Until then, I have to pull my actual key card out of my wallet to get into the car and drive it. It's a little irritating but not the end of the world

    Something rolling around

It's really annoying. Especially if you don't know if it's a stupid rock.... or an important component of the car that's come loose. I just ordered my vent covers online. I didn't spend hours researching the options, but I found some covers that secure in place with double-sided tape and others...

    Something rolling around

So... my issue was a small rock got into the vent opening. Had to drive 70 minutes to my nearest Tesla SC but the technician was able to blow it out of the vent with compressed air. Fortunately, he didn't charge me for this, but I figure it's just a matter of time before something else gets in...

    Something rolling around

I'm glad it wasn't something more serious, but still, that's one expensive rock :( I'm guessing I have something similar rolling around in my MY too, then. Can I ask where you ordered your vent covers?

    Something rolling around

Were you able to find any objects in the vent? I have this rolling sound, but it seems to be travelling a good distance from one side of the vehicle to the other

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

Hmm... strange indeed. Maybe others will have encountered this issue and have an easy fix.
  19. V

Windows and trunk randomly open on their own while I’m away from my car.

Is your MY new? This happened to us when we first got ours. So we had the service tech come out and he recalibrated the windows (or something like that). I think it took him just a few minutes. It's probably something we could have done ourselves, had we looked in the owner's manual.

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

If you have your high beams set to auto and it's dark enough outside, they should come on. I drive on country roads all the time. Sometimes I initially have to turn my high beams on, but then the auto function kicks in.

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

I've noticed that my high beams are more sensitive to oncoming lights too. Problem seems to have resolved itself. Nice :)

Phone key suddenly no longer paired?

I'll keep that in mind the next time my phone key suddenly stops working. As far as I know my app is always open, but who knows?

Phone key suddenly no longer paired?

I find it happens from time to time after a software update. For your wife's phone, has she used her phone as a car key yet to drive the car without you and your phone in it?) If yes, then the car sees her phone. It should unlock the doors.

Phone key suddenly no longer paired?

Thanks for your responses. Does anyone else just wait to see if the phone and car eventually re-sync? Or am I the only one (out of sheer laziness). So far, they have always resynced within 3 days at most.

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

That could be it. Thinking back to last winter and spring, I loved my auto high beams. In the last few weeks, not so much.
  26. V

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

I don't think it's the case for me, because I know my high beams simply aren't lowering soon enough. The majority of the time, my auto high beams turn down a good few seconds after I think they should (which is why I end up controlling them manually so often). I live in a hilly area, so maybe...
  27. V

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

Yes, I do that - all the time. I was just wondering if there was a way to make the "auto" high beams actually automatic, instead of manually having to control them 90% of the time. I guess it's just how the front cameras on the car pick up oncoming lights.

Regrets [Anyone regret trading in their ICE for their Tesla?]

In case it helps: When we bought our MYLR AWD last fall, we joined a new owner presentation and the one thing the presenter kept repeating was: A plugged in Tesla is a happy Tesla. So we keep our MY plugged in all the time when not in use.

Auto high beams - am I doing something wrong?

Hi - has anyone encountered this? My auto high beams work, except that they often wait so long to turn down that other cars are constantly flashing me. Is there a setting I don't know about that would tell them to turn down sooner? I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone. I don't...

Left Scroll Wheel No Longer Switches Between Radio Presets After Update

I had no idea you could do this. This sounds pretty handy (assuming there's someone at the other end who's listening). Which also begs the question: Does that mean every time we use voice command, there's someone at the other end who's listening?

    Charging during cold months

Yup, we now have an entire season of winter driving under our belts and have learned that pre-conditioning is definitely the way to go when given the chance, but not a necessity, thankfully. I still don't feel as much grip on snowy/icy roads in my MYLR AWD as I do with my Subaru Forester with...

Phone key suddenly no longer paired?

Hi, not sure if this has been discussed already, but from time to time my phone key suddenly becomes "unpaired" from my MY. Often after a software update, and it seems to correct itself out of the blue a day or so later, but this time, I'm on day 3. Has this happened to anyone before? On a side...

1 click away from ordering model Y

I did find the screen a little overly distracting at first. I've since learned to use the voice commands and the buttons on the steering wheel for most things, and like that much, much better. In contract, my husband resists using the voice commands for some unknown reason and as a result, finds...

1 click away from ordering model Y

We recently switched from an ICE car to our MY LW AWD. It was a huge step up costwise for us, but 6 months in, we love it and have no regrets or complaints about our MY. I would recommend taking it for a long test drive on a variety of roads before hitting click just to be sure you like the...

    Model YP in the snow?

I think that depends heavily on where you live. If you live in a snowy region where roads are covered in some form of ice and/or snow basically from Dec to Apr, it takes a whopping storm to keep people off the roads. Life must go on. If you'll be driving on cold roads, snow or ice = winter tires.

Thinking of buying Model Y LR

If it helps, my husband is 6ft4, same weight as you and has tons of head and space in our MYLR AWD - including in the back row, which is impressive. He finds the seats very comfortable, even on long drives. You also get more storage space with the MY + the SUV feel, which is why we settled on...

    MY: Fun to drive?

I would politely argue that point, with the caveat that "fun" is relative and it depends on what you're used to and where you're located. First off the bat, it's hard for any SUV to be more fun than a convertible or sports car (IMO). My previous cars were a lumbering, sluggish 7-seater Ford...

Premium connectivity 1 year subscription during trial period

Either way, we've not talking a huge amount of money. I'm guessing $9.99/month in the US will mean more like $13.99 to $19.99 for us Canucks. Any Canadian MY Owners out there who are paying for their connectivity plan who can enlighten me?

Premium connectivity 1 year subscription during trial period

I'm curious: When you sign up for the yearly plan, do you have to pay for the whole year up front? No option for monthly payments? Disclaimer: I haven't looked at the connectivity plan yet as I got a free year of connectivity with my MYLR AWD, which I picked up in December.

Accepted Delivery of MYP 22' this weekend. Your thoughts on the fit and finish?

Our MY was a big step up price-wise for us, too, so I can understand wanting everything to be perfect (or as close as possible). We get free mobile Tesla service in our region, so we've had the guy come out to check out a few panel gaps and other interior/exterior trim misalignments a few times...

    Washing The Tesla Model Y

This is interesting. So I guess the ONR builds up a protective coat of some sort? Is this how you can go an entire season without a car wash? Or are you still handwashing weekly regardless?

    Windows Open When MY Parked

This has happened to me a couple of times as well. I'm still not 100% sure if this is the problem, but I'm starting to suspect that I sometimes inadvertently press on the window control buttons when getting out of the car (habit from my previous car).

    Canada Waiting Room

Am I reading your signature right that you ordered your MYLR in late Aug and are still waiting? I ordered mine mid-Aug and got my MYLR AWD mid Dec. Can liftgate adjustment be made specific to a location?

I REALLY wish it could. My garage ceiling is low so I've adjusted the height of the liftgate accordingly. Which means everyone inevitably hits their head on the latch. Man does that hurt! Tesla, if you're reading this, my head is begging you to make the adjustment location-specific!
