    No Homelink, No Problem

I’ll live with a sun shield button before I fork over hundreds to Tesla for a feature that should be included anyway, or mess with other options. Good find though. Thanks.

Does anyone find their Model 3 seat very uncomfortable?

Very comfortable. I wish they had a bit more side support and more points of adjustments.

Pearl white (PPSW) Touch up paint

I grabbed mine off eBay from a UK seller.

M3P: I'm done with the stock Pirellis. Where next?

If you live where there is snow, get winter wheels and tires. Save your stock wheels from damage. Winter specific tires are way better than any all season. If snow and ice is fairly rare or at least not several month of the year, I’d probably run the pilot all season myself.

Autopilot Cameras Unavailable - Features may be restored on next drive

I agree but I still think Tesla is going to go all camera. I’m not happy about it.
  6. A

    Better Blindspot Approach

The new feature is distracting to me. I tuned it off. I always still have to check the mirror and look over my shoulder anyway. I’m fine with just a chime or something. If they just improved the visualization tracking it would help too. I use that all the time to watch traffic . I wish...

Sony Surprises With Electric Car Prototype

I looks like a Tesla and Taycan had a baby. They couldn’t be a little more innovative?

    $12K for FSD is insane

With it not being tied to the owner, but the actual car that will be out of service by the time FSD is actually FSD, paying anything extra for it is absurd. If you’re paying for what it might become, it should be tied to your Tesla account and every Tesla you ever own in the future. Any other...

    Model 3 in Snow/Ice

Pilot sport summer tires should be an automatic no go at freezing temps….
  10. A

    Those with the M3P

I will say the 235 width is a terrible choice for a 9” rim abs when I get new summer tires I’ll be getting 245 width on my 20” 2020 model year wheels. Stretched tires will be more prone to issues and the stock sizes on 2021 models is stretched. Bad choice by Tesla.

    Those with the M3P

I’ve driven cars with 30,35,40 sidewall tires for the last 20 years. I’ve never had a blowout from a curb or pot hole. Mostly it’s an overblown risk to worry about. Ive lived in places with bad roads where winter freeze and thaw destroy the pavement too. I have had some close calls with...

    Model 3 in Snow/Ice

Tires. I have winter wheels and iceX tires. My MP3 is a tank in snow and ice. I drive in chill and low brake regen when it’s slick out. The full regen get squirrelly when conditions are slick. No issues with either yet driving.

    Downgraded UI in v11

Change can be good and bad. You hope for mostly good. V11 offers nothing that’s an improvement, and several things that are worse:

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

There isn’t a lot of issues I get that, but if anything goes wrong warranty is out the door.
  15. A

    Downgraded UI in v11

There is nothing about V11 I see as an improvement. Zip. Zero.

Anyone switching to a Rivian R1T after watching reviews?

I don’t think any of these trucks will actually get over 400 miles. I will be good to get some pickups to the market. I really liked the Rivian until they became as unobtanium as the cybertruck, abs have a very low tip speed. I’m more likely to get the next Gen model 3, which I hope is...

    Known working voice commands?

So far the voice command can do almost everything Ive asked it’s been fun using it! Any feature, setting, control can be accessed that way.

Using calendar to pre-condition battery for departure

I don’t think so, but it’s a good idea. My days aren’t ever the same either.

    Feature Request. Thoughts?

Will the phone still charge if left in the car? I guess I’ve never tried. A simple “don’t forgot your phone” message is a good idea.

    Sentry mode triggering every minute

Love the idea, but I turned sentry off. It is too sensitive for no reason, but then won’t work when it needs to. I wish it would be a bit “smarter”. I wish it would alert me with a real problem so I can check the cameras.

Driving Sounds in the Toybox>Boombox settings.....

I want my car to sound like a Ti-fighter but alas the Toybix really isn’t I’m useful! It makes sense, I’m sure there are lots of laws why you can make you car sound like a goat while your driving, but it would be fun!
  22. A

Another subwoofer option - NVX Audio

I really want a sub, but I’m not willing to risk bricking the car.

New icon—can’t seem to find explanation for this

I honestly don’t like any of the changes at all. I think it’s all less initiative, and the things I look at more burried. Not happy.

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

I literally never get the listed range of my M3P. No way the Lighting does. Also look at some of the recent tests with the Rivian and towing…..1/3 range, stopping 20 times towing over a short trip. If anything if significant weight is towed or in a payload in the bed, the Lighting will get...

New HUD with Yoke: Anybody tried this?

Some of these add ins don’t look to bad but I still find myself loving the lack of extra stuff in the cabin, and I want even more to have a holographic HUD on the windshield. Please Tesla please.

    wow really? thats cool-go porsche!

How long until we get an all electric 911/ cayman sized car? I guarantee it would sell…. . Even a 2 door GT car with a useable backseat would be fun. This is my dream from Tesla. 60-70k 2 door sports coupe.

Meguiars, Chemical guys, Turtle Wax, or does it even matter?

Winter cleaning is hard. Just accept that! Check out Junkman2000 on YouTube for lots of great tips for new and advanced detailing, that’s how I learned. 1) No, in winter there is no magic spell to keep the stuff off the car. Between salt and chemical, with the frosting of road dirt, sand...

Suggestions for quick detail (in between washes) on new M3P

Meguires quick detailer and quick wax is really good too. They wipe off a bit hard but last longer. Easy to get too. Hybrid V07 I just started using more often as it wipes off really easily. I use all Meguires polishing stuff.

Turtle wax is a specialty product lol but I get what you’re saying.

    Nuclear power

China and India are both significantly over 1 billion people, which is about 3x the amount of the next few countries. Combined they are almost 40% on the entire worlds population, and will remain primarily on coal for power for the next 100 years. The United States varied from #3 to #4 most...
  32. A

    Nuclear power

India is and will remain 50-60% coal if not more. China is already at 60% coal. China…the largest population in the world. I don’t know for sure because I didn’t look it up but I bet if you added the population of India and China up, it would be at least 51% of the world. They will...

    polestar? serious competition?

    Nuclear power

Solar and wind will never and I mean never be able to keep up with 50% or more of the power needs of the developing world.
  35. A

    Nuclear power

No LOL Nuclear primary source with a bit of renewable offset (no resource is 100% renewable so was saying supplement it with some other 99% renewable resources as tech allows. - could have written that better). I don’t know what the ratio would have to be but way more than half nuclear times...

Electric Cars Not As Eco As Policymakers Claim, Says Executive Who Developed Nissan LEAF

Nothing is really 100% carbon neutral, and EV certainly are not. No question, not having emissions at the source has a benefit, but that comes from a cost on the front end that is often either not talked about realistically, or ignored. EV technology is not a panacea. If we could all just...

    Nuclear power

Long term, nuclear with some 99% renewable sources as a buffer is the only realistic solution.

We must face facts - meat is the problem

People would be better off with less corn syrup. We don’t need Coke and Redbull. People would be better off without alcohol. We’d all be better off if there was government issued meal packs with the exact recommended caloric macros for every meal, and we all wore exactly the same clothes, and...

Tesla EV Tax Credits coming back?

There is a lot more in the bill than EV credits, and I would argue the EV credits are in my opinion one of the least controversial. If you haven’t, I encourage everyone to look into it more closely.

Reaching the Magic $25,000 Price Point, Who First?

If you take the base model 3, how do you remove $10,000 or more to get a $25,000 version? How do other manufacturers get down to that price point? Will it take that next cheaper battery technology? I’m actually curious because there is no way that we get to even 50% of the fleet as EV when...
  41. A

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

That’s my thought. They will be an option but not a game changer. They will be an option for an ICE truck with an EV power plant. The lightning isn’t a paradigm shift for Ford and or how we think of pickups. This will be good as an option but didn’t really push Ford to push the envelope...

New wheels scratched, am I too demanding?

Purchased from where? Are these supposed to be bone stock new? Ya they looked repaired. If I paid multiple thousand for them they’d be going back. No you’re not being too picky. That said very easy fix. Traveling wheel repair place $100 bucks per wheel and you could probably bondo blend...

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

I’ll be in this category. Light user. The CT is ugly but I still want one because of its uniqueness. Like a bulldog so ugly it’s cute!
  46. A

Is ford lightening a winner for ford?

I think they will sell quite a few to people who drive pickups but dont “use” them. I don’t think they are going to be suitable for work trucks and the range isn’t super good from what I’ve seen. They aren’t bad, look like a regular truck, and certainly Ford loyalty will sell a few.
  47. A

Reaching the Magic $25,000 Price Point, Who First?

With inflation I’ll be surprised if there is ever a good EV option for $25,000, certainly not worth n the near future. For 35-40 the GM EVs seem to be way behind Tesla so how do you get another $10,000 of that? I suppose maybe you could have an EV with the technology and features of the base...

    polestar? serious competition?

They are a very good looking vehicle in person. They have a great interior. They don’t have too bad of range or performance. It’s an option but I don’t see it taking a bunch of sales from Tesla. Cant help but wonder what happens when the warranty runs out.
