    Auto Wipers

My car has only dry wiped a handful times in two years. Also struggles a little with very light rain, but then pushing the button once in a while isn't much hassle. It is currently in getting fixed, the loan car is a complete disaster when it comes to wipers. Basically useless. How can it be...

Collision with a Deer on motorway. HELP

I just claimed against Churchill for some debris damage, exactly the same Veetec and Auxillis. But my cover should give me a same size car. Guess will see what happens.

    Oh, the irony

Ok so this is odd, I disabled the AP Beta the other day in the menu and within 30seconds got my first phantom brake this year. Does TACC use the old stack? I enabled AP (sadly had to do it whilst parked) and it's been fine since. So if you want to use TACC make sure AP Beta is enabled maybe?!?

    Car didn't charge again!

It shouldn't be stopping like that. Tesla wall charger here and I have twice seen messages about charging interrupted, but it has always resolved itself. I use: Preconditioning with a departure time and Off-Peak charge to ensure it charges as close to departure as possible, as this will also...

    Spotify Requests

I prefer the 'radio' behaviour. I switched to Spotify at home as it's a nice way to find new (to me) music.

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

When returning home in the car I just have an event for when car returns to home, then it waits for the car door to go from locked to unlocked. It's always unlocked when I get to the door. For people they need the home assistant app and I have it trigger when they return home and it waits for...

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

I have this and have it connected to my free automation software Home assistant. My door unlocks itself when the car or a family member arrives home.

M3 Refresh - Are Indicator buttons really poor design?

It all comes down to How much steering is required, if it is like the current car then I imagine will be a complete pita on small roundabouts

Autopilot is getting worse, not better.

For me things are better since the switch to vision. Only issues: I have to check the windscreen over the camera is clean or it will endlessly try to clean the dirt/bugs. It still likes to exit A roads all by itself. (These are not officially supported). Stop start traffic is a little more...

    Steering Wheel setting

The weight of my arm is normally enough, you don't have to actually turn the wheel. I generally just put my weight on the right side, although direction of weight is unimportant and not related to the direction you wish the car to go in. I.e. just hang my right arm by the thumb

UK EAP vs AP on a MS - phantom braking?

For me it was worth it for the lane changing. I haven't had phantom breaking since the move to vision. I assume AP is the same. As for summon, I use it sometimes just to pull into/out off a tight parking space.

Cold legs and other hvac oddities

My HVAC blows cold from time to time, around the knees. I had thought it was connected to preconditioning, maybe stealing some cabin heat to warm the battery.

Sentry mode, only one recent clip. Everything else is from last year

There was a change that switched off the camera in sentry mode unless it thinks the car has been broken into. You can change it, sorry I forget the exact names.

Worth getting EAP now Tesla Vision active?

For me it allows me to keep auto pilot on for hours at a time, letting it do all the overtaking. I don't drive aggressively and thus I don't mind the chill manoeuvres. Works fine even on busy motorways including the M25. So I am glad I purchased it for that alone. Summon etc have limited use.

Can’t connect to car via App - anyone else?

Happened to me last night, had to use the phone on the door pillar to wake it up.
  20. F

How often do you use autopilot?

I use it all the time on A roads and motorways and I don't even remember the last time it phantom brakeed. I particularly like it at night or in low visibility (for me). Follow set to 4, 5 when wet. If someone cuts me up, it drops back and I remain chill as they didn't effect me personally.
  21. F

    Baffled by preconditioning

I precondition with the car plugged in for convenience. I guess I could automate turning the AC on 15 mins before departure, but I definitely wouldn't bother doing it manually to save some pence at certain times of the year.

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Depending on how early you leave and when it schedules charge then it could use more energy in your example with preconditioning. I use that anyhow, but I reckon it from a warmer bettery more often.

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Because it will charge all in one go, closer to when I need it (generally), this warms the battery. It also mean my battery is at a higher charge % for less time (generally).

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Almost about to complete a yeah with IO, I only had smart charging enabled one day. So it looks like it's not important. I loose out on a rare charging period outside of off peak but gain a warmer battery when I am due to commute.

UK FSD - What does it actually do on Model 3?

FSD isn't worth it but I'm very pleased I paid for EAP, I often do hundreds of miles without taking over. Since the move to vision it has got a lot better too. I did 200 miles last Friday, the vast majority on EAP and it was perfect. Worth it just for the lane changes imho. I suggest you...

    Home Assistant Integration(s)

I use both integrations and the car sleeps fine. Teslamate for all the info the GitHub one to control things. Note I set a very large polling time on the GitHub one as I don't need the polling (1month). I have the following setup: * I can ask Google home to prepare the car - turns on HVAC *...

    Condensation in rear lights

My car came new with fogged lights, but they cleared up after a while and it hasn't come back. I wouldn't panic just yet if the car is new. Same with the pillar cameras.

EAP and FSD price at UK

I really like my EAP and consider it a good purchase. The vast majority of my driving is with EAP engaged and it has only gotten better with the move to vision. Interesting how people have such varied experiences. FSD though is a joke in the UK. I'd probably pay for it if we had the same...

Summon not present? UK Model Y

If you end up driving a lot on auto pilot (seems different people have different experiences) then EAP will auto change lanes when you indicate. FSD is a joke atm in the UK.

Tesla Wall Connector (G3) Schedule Charging Issue - Stops at midnight

In app for the car set departure time and off-peak charge (Inc end time). That way it will charge as late as possible and finish when off peak ends. Leaving maybe a little heat in the battery for your driving. Precondition can be enabled if you wish. I don't set anything for my Tesla...

    4680 Battery for Model 3 - when?

I was under the impression that the Plaid uses smaller batteries to allow for faster acceleration and charging as it allows for configurations that have more in parallel. I wonder if they will do the M3P with 4680s for this reason? I might have made it all up in my head ofc.

    [UK] 2022.28.X

Been running 28.1 for a few days now. I have to admit it was worth taking. I have EAP and whilst I didn't have too many issues before it seems really positive now. Driven in EAP in the dark, sunset and terrential rain. The auto high beam did come on once in the dark on a dual carriageway...

Would you buy a new Model S?

The plaid gives good performance for the money but I have some concerns: It will be made in the US, I'd prefer China. Still no matrix headlights Better comfort and quality from competition The size ruins fun driving and makes parking a hassle in the UK Driving dynamics Vs M3P

Driving a Tesla in the UK, as explained by a foreigner.

When I recently went to the US Hertz gave me a Dodge Challenger.. sadly I couldn't get a Tesla due to having different start/finish locations. I struggled with: 1) The performance, it was all noise and no action. 2) Forgetting about the parking brake. 3) Forgetting to lock the doors. 4) Lack...

No phantom drain - Related to recent update?

It's all down to if the car is sleeping. So don't open the app or car doors etc. Don't use third-party tools or Intelligent Octopus etc that risk waking it. Maybe it was struggling to sleep before.

AXA Crash Test Tesla Model S

All we can gather is that in the event of an accident an EV driver is 50% more likely to be the cause of damage to their own car based on AXAs numbers. We don't know if they have more accidents, we don't know if they are less or more likely to damage other vehicles (why did AXA only call out...

AXA Crash Test Tesla Model S

AXA Crash Test Tesla Model S

They don't say the EVs have more accidents, Just that if an accident takes place then drivers of EVs are 50% more likely to be the cause of damage to their own vehicle. Autopilot and slip roads

Motorways are fine, but I've had this on some A roads. Often there is a gap in the dashed lines and an arrow splitting. I assume the car thinks it should just keep to the 'left lane'. Multiple versions over 6 months of ownership. I always prepare to take control at these points. Also avoid...

Model 3 Door cards (pre-interior refresh)

I suspect you will be just enjoying your car. I was convinced I'd change the wood effect in mine for alcantara. But I never even notice it. Buy stuff once you have been driving it for a while. That said the cup holders are too wide for normal UK bottles.

Recommended EV chargers in UK ?

So all installations have to have the same safety features, if the charger is missing something then the electrician will add it. As for other features, imho you won't need them as the car is the better place to go to control charging one schedules etc. You want it to be reliable as there is...
