Get the OEM. I was not able to order it from Tesla but I ordered the part bar and receiver on eBay. Doesn't have the Model S sticker but should fit and be identical and a little more expensive. Oh well. I just want to carry my mountain bike without a roof rack.

I’ve had great experiences with this service center but the virtual service guy who covers the region was being a stick in the mud. Service really is such a hit and miss with Tesla.

Lifting an e bike onto seasucker makes me nervous. I’ve used the roof rack for my MTB but definitely would prefer to use a hitch rack.

Worth clarifying that it will void warranty to any issue related or caused by the modifications. Tesla can't claim your warranty is void on (for example) your wipers breaking due to a non-electric hitch receiver. I have used the roof rack which isn't terrible but I would much prefer a hitch...

I’m trying to figure out if you just need a VIN from a friendly Model X owner or if they need to put in the order themselves.

Unfortunately still needs a VIN to put the order through.

Just got off the phone on Tesla, they won’t sell the part unless it’s on a Model X VIN which I own. Looks like I’m off to eBay unless there’s a model X owner in the DC area willing to put in an order.

Just to clarify. Any model X hitch, pre-refresh and refresh will fit the Model S Refresh?

Looks like a chunky oil dip stick next to the suspension. It's hard to see without taking the wheel off. There should be a bolt on one side and a lever on the top if my memory serves me well.

Is this for install on a Model S Refresh? I'm being thrown by the Model X reference at the top.

My Plaid had one of the sensors not connected and caused the car to completely nose dive when I put it in jack mode and wouldn't go back up. Car had to get towed and the whole front bumper got scratched up underneath which Tesla repaired.

Whistling noise seems to come from back around 80-85 mph depending on wind direction? This is a common issue. No obvious solution.

Can I safely run Pilot Alpin PA4 in the front and Pilot Alpin PA4 N-Spec in the rear for the 19 inch wheels? Looks like a different tread.
