Plaid: max miles decreased 333->312 for last 2 months.

yeah… charged twice till 100% and sleep for few hours - zero changes. Range 313 miles, same as was projected at different soc. Now 50% soc and teslamate reports 314miles… I’m using teslamate, so I know trend of max range during last two years. Waiting till car have 10% to repeat procedure.

Plaid: max miles decreased 333->312 for last 2 months.

I was doubt either EPA 2024 propagates to previous year cars (they technically are the same). OK, it might not be a case, because I do not see any related threads here. I charged car to 100% few weeks ago, I did not help. Will try charge to 100% and keep it for few hours. Otherwise, there is...

Plaid: max miles decreased 333->312 for last 2 months.

I have 2y old 24k miles MSP 21". What I'm observing it's rapid "degradation" in projected max miles. 2 months ago it was like ~333-335, according to teslammate. This degradation was slow from 348 till 333 for 2 years. Now in 2 months it lost 25 miles or 7%. Projected range keep getting...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Same impression. Put 500 miles on new setup: 20” square- well alignment - with adj rear arms. It’s day and night difference. Soft, comfortable and safe

    Square vs staggered

A bit info on PS4 AS. I had 20k miles in OEM PS4S. 21", they were not so comfortable, but handling were fantastic! PS4 AS: I'm impressed with ride quality on 285/35/20 All Seasons. Much softer which is immediately noticeable. All passenger told same - it's comfortable to ride. I put already...

    Square vs staggered

One more data point on square setup. Switched from 21" Arachnids (plan to sale them) Swtched to: 20x10" ET35. Tires 285/35/20 Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4. I read all threads and still was not sure what combo is working the best for plaid & med+ driving (no track/strip) Thanks to @Muzzman1...

Vendor 21+ Model S Premium Forged Wheels by Atomic Wheels

Finally I swapped staggered 21" Arachnid to 20" square! Rims definitely lighter than stock - confirmed by scale & @ss ;) Aside from that I wanted to say thanks to Atomic Wheels for fulfilling my request on getting rims 20x10" (not 20x10.5" as per website).

    Macsboost vs N2itive

Finally, it happened.... I did my wheels alignment today! New rims, new tires & new (pre-owned, but new for me) adj rear camber arms. There was recommendation for Monrovia Alignment, but I think I found better shop. Tire Man shop at Thousand Oaks , recommended by N2itive, did alignment same...

That's fine. I learnt from it. I hope it will be good insight for others.

    Macsboost vs N2itive

Subjectively: initially bought macboost shims in hope of easy installation and quick solution for tires premature wearing. So installation- pain in ass. Who designed those arc ?! Eventually I cut shims in two washers and asked extra hands. Installation is not for one person and not dyi friendly...

    Plaid Vibration around 38-42MPH....

Interesting. Tested yesterday 40-50 range, low acceleration- no vibration at all. I had very low vibration in that range (or high tolerance to it) but now car os silk.

    20" Wheel Fitment and Setups

I'm about to put 20" square setup. 9.5" narrows, 10.5" wide (for front, where 9.5 is by design). So for me right choice looks as 20"x10". The question I have is what is the right ET for such setup ? Do I need spacers for rears ?

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

It's business, nobody wants to pay. But ball on Michelin side. To make claim that it's Tesla's issue, they must to perform same operation as Tesla - find issue with suspension. For sure Michelin won't do that. Second remember, T2 mark on tire- is approved tires for MS. How Michelin & Tesla...
  15. D

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

That's tricky question. If you have official response that your vehicle inspected and alignment conforms specs, then you can state it's Michelin issues. T2 on tires says that tires designed for tesla, to be precise to Tesla S. If Tesla says alignments is fine, Micheline should say the same, but...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Ok, long story short. This is my second pair of rear tires to worn out on inner side. What's interesting, my front tires 2/32 @ 23k miles and evenly worn. Rear last 11k miles, regardless you drive low or mid setting. First pair I drove in low, second only in mid (Tesla sucks even here, on...

Macboost Installation Reco in Seattle Area?

Bought this shims. Plan to install by myself over weekend. Does not look to complex, just TOE correction looks weird in booklet. I'd recommend to go to alignment shop in any case.

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

I have 2 cases, but both resulted in giving credit (fraction of cost), not replacing tires at their cost.

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

I think I did stupid mistake. On 10k miles rear tires started delaminated. I went to tesla SC and was talk 12months warranty in case of replacement. Paid for alignment + rear tires to tesla. So, 12 months passed... same issue on rear right at 11k miles. Now, I'm reading that warranty excludes...

Plaid 21” rear tire woes - factory defect?

Looks good so far.... Mine first pair fail apart around 9k mile, second around 10k. At 6k everything looked good.

Tesla installed strings in parallel on 7.6 Inverter

I'm pushing tesla to fix it. For 2 months, so far nothing, promises to review plan, engineers do not see issue, we are not customer facing dept... all that bullshit passed. Waiting for call to discuss "Pros" of such design from design team/engineer. Hope I'm not to stupid to miss...

Tesla installed strings in parallel on 7.6 Inverter

resurrection of thread... Tesla keep doing this things. I have 3 strings, but to inverter comes 2 pairs. Those two parallel string resides on different slopes of roof... WTF. Tesla ? did you save $1/ft on 20 feet long ? really $40 ? This is how wiring done on roof, before down in 3/4 EMT to...

Two Powerwalls Should Hold 13.5 kWh... Right?

I had same case. Among 2 PWs one faulted. 1 month old system. I heard loud pop. Thus i discovered issue pretty quickly. It takes 3 weeks to replace PW, but I was in touch with tesla all the time.

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

I think today is a day when everything works end to end! super happy to stop drawing energy from grid. So, tesla service is awful, nothing new... They scheduled service for 9/29 (month from claim date) During city inspection, 2 days ago, I complained to tesla representative on this issue. He...

Discussion: Powerwall 3 [Speculation / Discussion etc]

Not a case for me. Mine installed in backyard, and appearance matters, including illumination. As for installation correctness, it’s relevant for both pw2 and pw3, or in other words it’s irrelevant;)

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

Thanks! I opened breaker panel, and discovered what's wrong.... Tesla installed 4CTs only as: 2 CTs for backed load (right) 1 CT for AC (for 1 hot wire) 1 CT for Tesla Charger (for 1 hot wire) did they have shortage of CTs ?! it's $15 part. lol That's why I saw 50% load for non backed load...

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

I found that CT1 reports negative readings, whereas CT2 positive. For those who bump into such issue: - connect to inverter (wifi TEG-) in installer mode - run REST hit://<IP of inverter>/api/meters/readings in my case first CT1 reports "instant_power": -2347...

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

Just got the same idea, thanks again ! Traced GW, it has CT1 & CT2, both wires go to old main panel. Haven't found where they plugged actually... but will try. Exactly. PS how this is stupid, happy customer thinks he is self powered, but in fact far from that LOL
  36. D

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

Thanks! What is the CT ? I'm kind of newbie here ;) My assumption is that, if PW charged or Solar production is excessive, why should I pull from grid any Watt (not even KWh) ? Another things, it seems exact 50% of house load (not backed by PW) is missed from accounting.
  37. D

Pre PTO, self powered, mode but still drawing from grid (Home consumption reported as half of real load)

I have brand new installed Solar 8.8KW + 2PWs. Pre PTO, self powered mode. Apparently there is issue in installation and customer support gave me message, that system is self configuring (who knows ?!) But here is the fact: At this moment Solar Production: car charging That's quite not...

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

I have 17k miles on 2022 Plaid. I can confirm that vibration exists at range 42-50mph, and not on higher speed or out of that range. vibration developed around 5-7k miles on odometer and not progressed in worse side any longer. Now, interesting facts: - It's very mild and not appears all the...

2022 plaid. Chill vs sport vs plaid

From physics standpoint resistance is square of current. I’m pretty sure chill chill mode must be slightly efficient than any other modes. From my data standpoints (teslamate), just normal commute in plaid (i always use it) very ragged in terms of power, whereas in chill power is topped at...

    Yoke peeling

Replaced yoke month ago. Looks like more dense/thick material layer used. Also, wheel/buttons on yoke is definitely revisited, clicks requeres more efforts. But it does not seem they solved issue, same material, it will start peel when you out of warranty LOL

Powerwall In Garage [what are the rules around this?]

We own SFH, but each neighbor shares one wall of build within another. I'd say it's not true SFH. Thus, yeah, she will see clearly installed PWs and wires. That's a great point, thanks !

Powerwall In Garage [what are the rules around this?]

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Financially, it does not make much sense to install only panels now, even without possible flat fee (income based) Tesla screwed me up by missing deadline for nem 2.0. Now another, recent, regulations for building codes. Tesla completely not proactive…. the last...

Powerwall In Garage [what are the rules around this?]

That's seems true. Tesla said the same. The issue is that, this wall is shared within me neighbor house, and thus his consent is needed. Apparently she is against that (not surprised though). Tried to talked within inside garage installation again. They provided more descriptive response this...

Powerwall In Garage [what are the rules around this?]

New to this.... I have installation date soon. Tesla said, new fire codes do not allow to install PWs inside garage (CA, Ventura county). HOA prohibits outside installation. Is that TRUE, in Ventura no longer PW can be installed in garage ? seems crazy.
