    Popping or Thunking when charging.

It's either normal, or else you and I have the same problem! It does it from time to time ever since Dec 2021 when I got mine.

    Renting an EV from Avis

With various countries / states / provinces mandating EV only sales after <Insert year here>, you won't have a choice. Things will improve, charging will be everywhere - it has to be otherwise the whole transportation world will fall apart. Oh, wait....

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

No, as @Y_tho said - it's just disabled from the menus to start with. It was like that on the MY I rented from Avis and more recently on a M3 I rented from Hertz in the UK. It's just annoying because you drive out of the airport and the first time you notice is on the highway where you can't...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

This isn't good. What Avis level are you at? Pref, Pref Plus, President? They definately need to know this is happening. I can only guess that the people on the counter were trying to get through the line quickest and giving people anything that was washed and ready. :-(

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

How are these high mileage rentals holding up? I rented a M3 in the UK last month, it had ~30k on the clock and I noticed that both scrolly-wheels in the steering wheel felt like they had been pressed in too hard - made it difficult to use them and adjust things as they were falsely triggering...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

I guess that unless tesla have something special setup for rental companies to track this, I expect there is some Avis employee tasked with sitting there and looking through the charge history on a phone or tablet in the Tesla App and finding who had the vehicle at the time and then recharging...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

No - I was never charged, it's two months now, so I think it was included at the time. Now that it's re-charged ;) to the customer, I wonder if Avis will lower the rental price to take that into account? Hahahahaha as if!

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

No, they didn't... So this is quite handy for longer rentals or road trips :) I hate to think what the constant supercharging is going to do to the rental batteries... but I guess that in itself will be a useful data point for Tesla too.

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

@Brian-MS90D - glad to be of service! I also didn't know Avis did them until I was doing the booking process. Mine was also fairly cheap, considering! So far, 3 days on, no Energy costs from Supercharging, but maybe Avis's systems are a little behind on this stuff. $380 for the week is an...

    Steering wheel heat inconsistent

... resurrecting this because after the 2023.2.10 update it's all sweetness now, so much better feeling and no more hot/cold/hot anymore. Good one Tesla!

An Incompatible drive system software error made my rented model Y undrivable

Having read the other threads, 'bricked' is not the term, as I am sure Tesla can fix this in an instant, however, to me, it was bricked. I rented a MY from Avis in Orlando, Florida while I was there on various work trips - and pleasure days! It was almost new, just 90 miles on. Avis don't...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

I have just come back from Florida where I rented a Model Y from AVIS from Orlando Airport. Here's what I thought about it all... I have a MY at home. To start, I was surprised they were doing Teslas at all - I know Hertz do, but now AVIS as well it seems. I saw several MY's there and maybe...

Tesloid / Armour Lab - PPF, Vaugn Ontario. Any Reviews?

I agree, Jay and the crew at Westside are super professional and do an awesome job, and I am very pleased with their work

Phone app unable to wake up car

My (Android) app would not connect to my MY this afternoon either, Ontario Canada. Parked in the same WiFi area as always. Shame as I could not preheat the cabin before my drive home, but it was only -3 outside, so the cabin warmed up quickly when I got in.

All driving assist features disabled in cold weather on model Y

I think just a few. I am in Ontario. A few days ago it was -13'C out and Regen was non existent after sitting outside work all day. I park underground (-3'C) and all was good in the morning. Never seen any of those other errors in these temps, so, unhelpfully, I do not suffer from the multiple...

    Drove an ICE

In my case, I just spent the last week in the UK where I have an ICE car. So, From the MY to a stick-shift, on the wrong side of the car, on the wrong side of the road, and the car is crap, I can't overtake anything because it has no power. Gah. On the plus side, no driving errors or leaving...

Car drives different since holiday update. You guys notice anything?

I am pretty sure something has changed regen-wise. I would agree that it seems weaker. The road passing by my Condo is a 50kph zone, so I am always on Cruise to avoid the over-zealous cops on this road. I have learned exactly where to flick Cruise off so that I can turn into my parking lot...

Lots of refinement between 2020 and 2022 Model Y

I noticed this too, but I am comparing to other cars I have had rather than an earlier model. I now get into the habit of lowering the window a bit before closing the door...hoping auto-close will fix that when I walk away, which, so far, it has :-)

    Steering wheel heat inconsistent

Yes, Hopefully Tesla can make this better - it's not that hard to do from a coding perspective and could also give us users the same kind of ability to have 3 levels of heat like the seats do. I get the impression that all the software and hardware guys at Tesla are in nice warm California and...

Something my wife and I hacked together this week- an Android app that acts as an instrument cluster

This is mega - well done for doing this. I am researching all the various CanServer things for my 2022 MYLR and as soon as I have the hardware in place, this will be had! Thank you!

    Software updates

Just a DataPoint - I got my MYLR on Dec 13th and have had 3 or 4 updates since then - one is ready, but I'm not near WiFi at the moment - 2 levels down undergound parking :-(

Does anyone else’s hatch leak like this?

Interesting - I saw that on my two-week old MY, but wondered if some snow and ice had fallen in. I will keep a closer eye out on that from now on - thanks for the pic!

    Missing USB Ports

I also picked up my MYLR yesterday and My Wireless charging works, and the USB ports appear to be there :)
