    Orange light: Unable to Supercharge

I wanted to post this experience here for others that might experience a similar problem. I guarantee other drivers will have like issues in the future, will do a search, and find this thread. On a road trip (of course!), my 2012 P85 (#1458) ran into an issue where it showed an orange light...

    100,000+ Mile Club

My local SC (Agoura Hills CA) was very cool about the door handle fix. My handle failed to present, but the motor was whirring. In that case the broken part is a $2 gear. So they fixed it for the cost of the part and the labor ... about $265. Really fair. My guess is, in the case of a handle...

Supercharger - Thousand Oaks, CA - East Thousand Oaks Blvd (re-opened May 2021)

Arghh. About an hour ago the crew foreman on site told me still two weeks more. Bottleneck is SoCal Edison, who has yet to do the interconnect. Doesn't mean the foreman is right, mind you, but it's another datapoint that says we're still a few clicks away. Utilities are one of the most vexing...

    100,000+ Mile Club

I hit 100,000 miles 3 weeks ago. Battery charges to 264 miles, though it was warranty replaced by Tesla at around 50K. Issues have been not too bad to this point: 4 door handles replaced. 2 under warranty, two not. I have written about this elsewhere, but the SC fixed 2 last week for a little...

    Non- Tesla door handle repair?

Some wonderful news. Just spoke with a senior tech at the local SC. He said if the problem is simply a broken gear (which is generally the case when the motor whirs and the handle does not present), the repair is around $220 per door, instead a full on assembly replacement at $750 per door. The...

    Non- Tesla door handle repair?

I did see the video, and I am a DIYish kind of person. I'm not an automotive DIY guy much any more, and getting that panel off looked like a drag. Local SC quoted $700 a door ... $1400 clams. Dang, for $3.36 worth of parts, and probably for them) 1.5-2 hours of labor. I'd gladly pay $250 a door...

    Non- Tesla door handle repair?

Looks like I have 2 door handles to fix again on my out of warranty S, one for the second time. Does anyone know of some non-Tesla tech who can do this repair? I'm in California -- LA -- but I move around the state a lot. If anyone has done their own repair and is up for fixing mine for a fee...

Supercharger - Oxnard, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, now 20 total)

I love this location, and use it 5-10 times a month. There is, however, a persistent technical issue at the site. Since day one, I have noticed that there is wide variance between the speed you get out of the different chargers. You really have to pay attention to the amps you're getting before...

    Dashboard Clock

Tesla Model S browser pixel dimensions Love your clock. Here's a question. I am designing a simple slideshow app for the 17" monitor and am having a devil of a time figuring out the precise pixel dimensions of the "browsable" portion of the screen in full mode (ie, with the browser active on...
