I was able to update my Ownice T3 to FW v.2.8.17 by plugging it to a USB port of my computer and navigating to 3.3.3.3 on my iPhone. The icons are reverted back to 5 by 3 configurations as it was prior to v.2.8.15.

The only missing feature is Sentry Live View when you are using Tesla Android, T2C and Ownice with Hotspot on.

I am on the same Tesla release and I am not having any issues with Ownice. It has been rock solid since I purchased it. Ownice is running the latest firmware.

Totally agree. We set a rule not to spend more than 2.5-3 hours behind the wheel. Because of my back issues, I tend to walk about and stretch a lot during charging stops. The days when I could drive over 1,000 miles a day are in a distant past.

I agree that neither T2C nor Ownice T3 has the power or feature set comparable to Tesla Android. My previous post was my response to why I chose T3 over T3.

I drove from LA to NJ in May 2023. The trip started with I-15 then I-40 followed by I-75/I-95. There are plenty of SCs along the way, nothing to worry about. On the way home we took I-70 to I-15. Again, there were no issues.

No worries, there are plenty of SuperChargers that way. Just use Tesla Nav. I use hotels.com to locate motels/hotels with AC Chargers.

There are two Wi-Fi chips inside Ownice unit. One to handle CarPlay, and the other one is dedicated to vehicle connection to the Internet via Hotspot. So, in essence, there are two types of bridge networking going on. T2C works similarly except with only one Wi-Fi chip inside.

For the vehicle to have access to the Internet, one must enable Hotspot. I have a shortcut that turns the Hotspot on when I connect to the car via Bluetooth, and automation that turns Hotspot off when CarPlay is not used.

Yes, the partitions will be erased if you do it in the Tesla. You will end up with a single partition for TeslaCam videos. To make any changes to the existing drive, move the media storage to PC, Mac or Linux.
