This is exactly the comparison I was seeking. After many years driving the M3 and my wife's Works Mini, I will miss the flat cornering but it seems like the the current setting is a reasonable compromise for most situations. Thankfully no one has mentioned "floaty" except to say that it isn't...
Having read early reviews about the original "sporty" suspension, I'm now finding comments like "soft" and "floaty". This isn't what I have in mind at all. Has anyone driven both who could offer comments? Is there some way out of the floaty one on a new car?
I'm a very early reservationist and...

The M3 will be hard to give up, but it's time. A large 4-door sedan wouldn't be my first choice, but I want an electric car and the Model 3 is the...
I'm 6'4" so would like some kind of guesstimate of headroom with the top up. Maybe somebody at the reveal who took a ride might have some thoughts even though there was no top at the time. Getting in and out is rather a must.
Legroom is probably not a problem as Franz von Holzhausen seemed ok...
I would love to have my old BMW M3 converted into a performance electric car, but I'd want a turnkey installation. If anyone knows a shop that would do it, please let me know.
I put one at post #133 in the Dimensions thread for this very reason. Somebody with good measuring tools could get a good guesstimate using the wheels for reference.
Great - I was just about to post a similar picture. For those of you with measuring tools, here's one of the back so someone can guesstimate the width from the license plate (my plate with similar frame is 12.25" in width)
and here's another side view from the top of the Gigafactory:
Putting aside the "threat to Tesla" angle, I don't see why gas stations wouldn't have, say, one charging "pump" eventually. We were discussing this very thing in the reservation line the other day. The disadvantage to station operators would be how long the car would be there, but they could...

2018 Tesla Model 3 - Official Photos and Info
said this: "It has the size and stance of another car called the 3(from Mazda)...."
The Mazda 3 is 180 in length, 106 wb, 71 in width.
This thing is really growing on me. When they first came out on stage, I thought "meh - 4 door sedans", but all these pictures tell a MUCH different story. It's really a beautiful car.
Tesla seems to have done it AGAIN.
Now that we've got some idea of dimensions, I think the car is comparable to the current large M3 sedan. If anyone could comment on handling of the TM3 vs M3, please do.
Thanks for posting this important subject. The Model S has an awkward B-pillar placement, so I found in my test drives that with the seat position back (tall driver), it WAS hard to get in and out.
I don't know if they let reveal attendees ride in the front seat, but if anyone did, please comment.
One of the most important characteristics (if not THE most important) of a car for me is handling. The electric car torque blastoff is great, but we all live with handling every second. My old BMW M3 still handles well, and for several years I have been waiting to purchase a second-model-year...
Could someone who attended the reveal provide some hints on the car's dimensions, particularly length? How about headroom and legroom for a tall person?
Maybe someone who's experienced at eyeball measurements could even tell the external dimensions from the pictures. If so, please comment.
I'm pretty positive here. I'll bet it will look good (hatch like the S is ok with me) and will be fast.
Oops - I just remembered something. I'm 6'3" and I drove the S with the seat pretty far back. The position of the B pillar made it hard to get in and out. With a smaller car, it could be a...
