Master Brake Cylinder Brace from Mountain Pass Performance MPP

Great review, thanks! A friend brought up one compromise with bracing the master cylinder this way that I didn't think about - it may change worst case front end collision dynamics. Could the master cylinder be braced in a way that doesn't risk it going into you in a bad front end collision?

    A/C Clicking Noise

FWIW I had this issue that seemed like it was caused by material expanding/contracting when A/C was on and after a few months the initial clicking went away on its own. Like the whatever material cured or settled eventually.. YMMV.

    Track Mode m3p

Great, so with your total confidence and having "tested the hell out of it in all imaginable scenarios" tell us under what conditions will your car spin out with Track Mode enabled but not in full stability control? Give us a handful of scenarios and be specific about it in terms of vehicle...

    Track Mode m3p

    Track Mode m3p

I don't think anyone said anything about speed. We're talking about stability controls. In the situation you're describing leaving stability control to the default can actually save your life. Do you think you can react as quickly as the car's stability systems in keeping the vehicle under...

    Track Mode m3p

I invite Perry & afadeev to come to the next local autocross event where it's a safe environment to run Track Mode and see how easy it is to lose control of the car with Track Mode vs. without Track Mode - even at the low speeds autocross tracks run at.

High speed braking instability - ABS/ESP bug?

Stock brakes are fine for street. Stopping power is not brake limited but tire limited. You are only brake limited when the brakes get too hot from heat soak from repeated high speed braking over and over again. This generally only occurs on the track.

High speed braking instability - ABS/ESP bug?

This was what my guess of the issue is. The car does get a bit light at high speed. Maybe the spoiler from the performance car would help (or aftermarket). Unplugged Performance recently tested the factory spoiler: Independent Aerodynamic Study of Tesla Model 3 by Unplugged Performance...

Loose seat belt anchor, is this normal?

Can someone check if their shoulder seat belt anchor is this loose on the passenger side? On the driver side I can't press in as far as depicted in the video - as if there is something behind the anchor piece. But on the passenger side you can see I can press it in pretty far as if there's...

    Track Mode m3p

There is a HUGE difference in vehicle dynamics between track mode and non-track mode when driven at the limits. One lap on an autocross course will immediately show it.

    Track Mode m3p

Actually Track Mode makes the car nearly the same as all stability controls off. It does add other features on top such as helping you rotate but it will also let you lose the car and spin it. Randy Pobst who spent all day with us last weekend said exactly the same thing - and he loves it this...

    Track Mode m3p

Sorry, I am just going to disagree with you here. You may have more Track Mode miles on public roads than me but you aren't able to push it to the limits as much in public - I have pushed the limits of Track Mode on the track multiple times as well as observed dozens of others do the same...

    Track Mode m3p

I have used Track Mode for a few days on the track and taken it to its limits and have seen maybe a dozen or more spins in Track Mode from Tesla Corsa events. The danger I see with Track Mode is not so much aggressive corners which the car is highly controllable but in a sudden spin when the...

Please List Model 3 PERFORMANCE track times

I think with the brakes now being majorly front biased from stock it throws off the VSC control loops which was tuned with the stock factory bias. You would have to do some calculations and figure out how to increase rear brake bias to compliment the new front brakes so the proportion is similar...

$1k Refunds on FSD Start March 11

Communication down to CS is very bad within Tesla. They are often times not the best informed (and probably not their fault). So I would be surprised if this pans out. Pleasantly surprised (I'd like a $1k refund) but I would personally bet against this happening.

I need to know about your rattles....

I have had zero rattle issues with mine. It spent one day at the track and two full days at the autocross (where my vehicle was used as an instructor demo vehicle and driven very hard) so any rattle issues would have definitely shown up by now. Good luck with voip getting the issues resolved.

Alarming amounts of cold weather vampire drain

The low pressure warning at 41psi is really strange. I've run my car at 40psi for weeks and no warning. I bleed them down to 36psi cold at Buttonwillow for a day on the track and no warning either. It does make me wonder how Tesla's warning algorithm works here.

Epidemic of Model 3 small window break-ins

    Audiophiles w/ Model 3's

    AWD front motor sounds

I guess the best way to describe is is to try to record the sound like in the video I posted. The sound I hear is specifically the pulsing whrr-whrr that if you start the video I posted at 0:12 you can hear at 0:13.

    AWD front motor sounds

So to confirm, you hear a faint pulsing whrr-whrr sound that varies with speed like in the video I just posted? I found a video of someone recording the front motor pulsing sound that I hear. Turn the volume up because it's faint. It's most evident around 0:13-0:15 when he's at 33mph. Tesla Crackling Sound Near Driver Windshield

Does it only happen with HVAC on? I think it's related to contraction/expansion of wood when temp changes and causes rubbing. When equalized it stops. I believe there is a service bulletin for it and a fix that involves putting some lube on the parts.

Sandy Munro talks about the teardown of the Model 3

Exactly, this is what I'm interested in hearing about. Munro said Tesla didn't take advantage of the battery when designing the frame and it could be made just as safe as today but with less mass in the frame - thus it's overweight. He claims Tesla should use finite-element analysis - such as...

Yes, I watched the whole video. I'm not debating if the Model 3 is a great handling car, I purchased my Performance 3 over a BMW M2 Competition or BMW M3. It's not all about 0-60.
