Would it be O.K to leave Model 3 unplugged for 5 weeks?

Was just gone for two weeks, didn’t open the app, no sentry mode. Lost 1% in two weeks, from 48% to 47%.

    is TACC speed dynamic?

That also works with phantom braking. There are a lot of settings and tricks to discover, especially for the new owners, and I forgot about this working in the OP’s situation. Not sure what that weird tone of your post is about.

    is TACC speed dynamic?

The only two controls you can adjust are speed and following distance with the right scroll wheel. In situations like that I’ll usually disengage, overtake vehicle, reengage. Also frustrating is I’ll set it merging onto a freeway and it’ll slow back down at times because I’m still on the...

    is TACC speed dynamic?

What you are describing is normal TACC behavior. That is not phantom braking, phantom braking really hits the brakes, I personally haven’t had that happen for a while - it’s gotten much better. Unfortunately there is no standard dumb cruise control, only TACC.

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

That’s my guess too. $59,990 2.6 0-60 10.5 quarter mile That might be enough to get me out of my 2022 M3P…

    CyberTruck (CT) waiting room

Looks like six people taking delivery at Lynnwood, WA are about to get their trucks. They are sitting at Tesla’s off site lot.

What Percent is Your Tesla Charged to While at Home?

2022 M3P, 24 months old, 23k miles and I’m down to 307 from 315 when new. Daily charge to 53% for commuting and to 60-75% occasionally when I need to drive further.

Defrost / Defog: Just want fan

I always figured (perhaps wrongly so) that the heat pump was always running in some capacity or another whether or not I’m directing heat or AC into the cabin. How many valve positions does the octovalve have to move heat around from motors, batteries, cabin, ??? Lots for it to do other than...

    2023 Model Y 25,000 (24,524) Mile Update - Cold Weather Impact

Also after you push the button at the end of the stalk and the wiper menu appears, you can press left/right on the left scroll wheel to change the wiper setting. This can be nicer sometimes since you don’t have to take eyes off the road.

    Regen Braking to low button?

A low regen mode that doesn’t activate the brake lights when you let off the accelerator is something I’d use every now and then. Probably mostly on the freeway. Sometimes you want to shift around in the seat or give your foot a quick break without quickly slowing down and brake lights coming...

Has anyone done wheel alignment at Tesla?

I have a ‘22 M3P and the steering wheel was off center as delivered. I took it to Tesla and they aligned it, they did a good job. At 22k miles the tires are wearing evenly.

Brake Lights on Screen too dull…fix?

You can temporarily zoom in on your car on the display just like you would a picture on your phone. It makes it easier to see but it zooms back out after a few seconds.

I've been wondering what it looks like to drivers behind me...

You can zoom in on the pic of your car on the screen just like you would a picture on your phone to make it easier to see. It automatically zoom back out after a few seconds.

    Cybertruck viewing in Seattle area

At Bell Square, just saw it for the first time in person. Is pretty nice, size is about what I was expecting but the tires are taller than you’d expect from the pictures. There is still a little bit of a line to see it, I’m sure they will sell all they can make for at least a few years.

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

Regarding turn signals and round a bouts, I think generalizing they are much bigger over in Europe than at least my neck of the woods in Washington State. They are usually so small that you’re only in them for a car length or so (depending on how soon you exit) before you’re exiting them which...

Master Thread: Model 3s on the Track / drag strip- Videos, Discussion, Setup, Etc

Good times at Pacific Raceways last night! The Rivian guys were out in force, got a pic of six of em parked together but I think there were more than that, they were getting 11.7-11.8 ETs. I made 7 passes and every single one was 11.4xx, with a best of 11.436, these times are pretty much...

New Tesla owner. Climate control question.

I haven’t tried but can you not tap the passenger side vents on the screen to turn them off/on with someone sitting in the seat like you can when the seat is unoccupied?

Cybertruck wrapped like a F150, also sneak peak under the frunk.

I am wondering if the F-150 wrap is to scale and the point of this is for a size comparison of some sort between the two.

thinking of trading in for a model 3. Insurance questions

I’m in western WA, a little north of Everett and had Geico with my previous car. When I got my Model 3 it was going to go up significantly. I shopped around. Long story short I dropped Geico like a bad habit and switch to Progressive. Rates were the same as my 9 year old econo box.

Just had my MYLR delivered today but have a silly question

My mother took delivery of her white Model Y maybe a month ago and it had a defect very similar looking to yours. I swear the paint had been gouged and they touched it up with Wite-Out, it didn’t look good. They offered to have their detail guys take a look at it, I thought there was no way...

Overheat protection not working US version

I noticed mine stopped working recently too, I’m sure it’s a bug with the last update I got. If I open the app it does seem to kick on and the interior temp starts going down. I’m on 2023.12.9 but it’s downloading 2023.20.4.1 as I type this, we’ll see if this fixes it.

    Range at New

I have a Feb 22 M3P, was 315 at 100% when new, once it showed 316 at 100%. It now has about 16k miles and the last full charge about a month ago showed 307. Only one brief supercharge session and maybe 6-9 charges to 100%. Daily charging for my 42 mile round trip commute is set to 50%, but...

how long does windshield replacement take?

I just had mine replaced yesterday at Tesla in Lynnwood WA, they took an hour maybe? The install looks great, all the edges are even and the height where it meets the glass roof is spot on. Tesla doesn’t accept insurance here in WA so I had to pay out of pocket but am being reimbursed by...

Driver side inside window crack after <1 month ownership

I’m at the service center right now getting my windshield replaced. I was rinsing my car getting ready to wash it and heard a loud pop. Mistakes made. Anyone have an idea how much I will be dinged for this on lease return?

Tire cleaner such as Bleche Wite? That is exactly what it is meant to clean off after all. I would try a little bit on a Q-Tip or something first.

App Charge Stats don't agree with my electric meter

Some utilities use an estimated usage for some of the meter readings without using the actual kWh’s used and then adjust at the next real meter reading either up or down compared to their guess. Could that be what’s happening? Edit: That would be if you were going off the billing statement...

Charge dropping 5% every hour when parked inside garage, compressor running

Boy looking at the alert message along with the 0 rpm fan speed and coolant temps shown, what you’re experiencing at least all fits. Hopefully Tesla can get that fixed without much trouble. Failed fan motor it looks like.

Tesla sets charge limit to 90%

This is almost exactly my daily charging and usage routine too. I’ve got a 2022 M3P, took delivery in Feb ‘22 and has just under 15k miles. A few days ago I charged to 100% (which I only do a couple times a year) and it showed 307 miles, down from 315 when new. 307/315 is 97.5% capacity, or...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

What kind of numbers is your car showing on the battery meter? For example if at 56% charge level it shows 171 miles remaining you would divide 171 by 0.56 for an extrapolated 305.3 full charge miles. You can then take that 305.3/315 which is the rated miles when new and get an estimated 97%...

Did a wood dash trim delete today

I think there are a few materials that would look good on the dash, carbon fiber, aluminum, alcantara like on the door panels to name a few. This is an area where I do wish Tesla had a couple options to choose from. I know the wood in my M3P is real, It’s never been my thing, I've always...

    Incorrect/Slow external temp reading?

I noticed this the other day as well, I just figured the exterior temp sensor was in the airflow path of the front heat exchanger. If you were heating your interior that would make the outside heat exchanger cold, yes? So it would take a few miles of ambient air swirling around for it to get a...

Torn betwee LR AWD with speed boost vs Performance main concern is badweather/tires

I was going back and forth also when deciding what model to buy. I really wanted the performance but the long range (available at the time) was a few thousand less. Of course if I added acceleration boost that lessened the price gap. In the end I did not want to spend a lot of money on a new...
