Supercharger - Napa, CA - Factory Stores Drive (LIVE 16 Nov 2019, 20 V2 stalls)

All the pedestals are in and 3 guys are pulling really thick cables.

Supercharger - Napa, CA - Factory Stores Drive (LIVE 16 Nov 2019, 20 V2 stalls)

No change today. Nobody working. Maybe when they finish Santa Rosa.

Supercharger - Napa, CA - Factory Stores Drive (LIVE 16 Nov 2019, 20 V2 stalls)

The fence is down today. The only change over the last two weeks. But, here they are, all 20. It's right across the parking lot from Brooks Brothers and a small coffee shop.

Supercharger - Napa, CA - Factory Stores Drive (LIVE 16 Nov 2019, 20 V2 stalls)

I drove by yesterday. The area is fenced off and the electrical boxes are in place. No trenching underway. Looks like the 20 chargers will all go in a line next to Freeway Drive.

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

The Superchargers have been ready for months, but they probably want to finish everything, including the landscaping, and then have a grand opening. The chargers are part of a multi part fueling station and mini mart.

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

I drove by today. They're paving! The space between the road and the existing pavement is being filled. The whole place is very active with lots of white contractor trucks scattered about. No merchandise in the store yet.

    NEMA 16-20 @ 16 amps?

I purchased the Tesla 6-20 adaptor and changed one of the plugs in the garage to 6-20. The plug was on a 20 amp breaker and had 12 gage wire, so I should be OK. Even though the car says it's charging at 16 amps on this circuit, I'm getting the same 4 mph charge rate as I did with a 12 amp...

How may EVs does it take before demands become an issue for the Grid?

Since most of us are charging during off peak usage times, I doubt EVs will cause any grid problems at all. What little impact we have on peak usage will be offset by lower electricity usage for refining oil 24/7. BTW, power companies are expecting the increased use of solar to move the peak...

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

Make that twice. I went by today and both Tesla spots were iced.

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

Napa River Inn needs to make those two spots available for general parking to comply with the rules about available parking in the use permit. The wineries probably have the same problem. You can always park in one of the three reserved spots and stretch the cable across the divider. I've...

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

I found the plans online somewhere in the Napa Planning Department web maze, but have since lost that link into the internet either. The plans call for final inspection in September, for whatever that's worth. The site will be shaded by solar panels.

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

The plans show an outside picnic area with tables. It's Napa, so even a convenience store will have some gourmet food items. After all, our drive in burger place has a wine list.

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

Lots of construction activity on the lot immediately south of Allied Propane this afternoon. The lot has been cleared and trenching has begun. Not exactly the start of Supercharger construction, but the start of the planned convenience market. - - - Updated - - - The location should be changed...

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

I think the supercharger will be on Devlin Road about a mile north of Airport Road immediately south of Allied Propane. The satellite view shows a scraped off area there. The planning commission document mentions poor highway access. This will be a complete fueling station for all types of...

Supercharger - Napa, CA (EXPANDED Jun 2018, 12 V2 stalls)

Plans on file show a convenience store at this location.

    Wyoming??

It almost seems like Wyoming has decided to play the oil state political card and block superchargers.

    Wyoming??

Sheridan WY is mentioned only as "needed". Too bad we don't have any forum members near Sheridan.

    Wyoming??

Does anyone know what's going on in Wyoming? The state is a big hole in the cross country supercharging network. Tesla's map shows a supercharger in Sheridan "coming soon", but supercharge.info shows no permit and no construction.

    Supercharger - Blanding, UT

We charged there in April. The art shop across the street has coffee - hard to come by in Southern Utah. Managed to make from here to Flagstaff with only a quick boost at the Monument Valley RV Park. The boost was probably not necessary, but the Navajo Flatbread at Gouldings was worth a stop.

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

The Napa use permit was approved 12/30. I drove by there yesterday. The foundation for a large building is in place, but no sign of supercharger construction yet. My guess is this charger is a few months away, at least.

    Squeaky seat belt

Pardon me if this has already been mentioned, but .... The Tesla is so quiet. I doubt you would notice this in any other car, but I'm getting a squeak / pop sound as the seat belt makes small movements while driving. The belt goes over a rounded piece of plastic inside the belt housing. I've...

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

That's telling them Merrill. Don't be clogging up our Napa SC, go to Sonoma. The wine is just as good, and cheaper too. Sonoma county also has more NAPA auto parts stores.

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

I took a drive out there just now. I doubt it will be a the 221 Devlin Road address. That's the location of the Allied Propane business, but it's way away from any other businesses. Not a bad idea since the site features a propane tank the size of a house. The permit application shows two...

Superchargers in Northern California (location speculation)

There are a number of fast food places across the parking lot from Target and the factory outlets have a Chinese fast food place. So, either place would serve (pun intended). - - - Updated - - - Found it! Napa County Permit P14-00339Project Description:Tesla Motors - Allied Clean Fuel Very...

A good good friend made the Tesla Logo cable holder. The poster is a copy of the original Nikola Tesla patent.
