    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

I truly symphatise with you @old_geez, your order date is one of the earliest still waiting for delivery. When I placed by order back in early Dec 2021, I used to look at every Tesla I spot on the road and admiring them, eagerly anticipating the arrival of mine which was promised to be within...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

There are quite a few who ordered in Nov/Dec 2021, primarily LR and P models who have missed out on Q1 2022 deliveries. I myself and quite a few on here are on the same boat as you. So yes, we were "skipped" but not due to any fault of our own. Hopefully our orders will be fulfilled in Q2 2022.

Cracking / tapping type noise around doors - Model 3 2022 RWD

You had the Tesla tech in the passenger seat and the noise disappeared? That could hint the seat could be a possible source... you can test it by putting some weights on the seat and go over roads you know will produce the noise, or bring a passenger along in the back seat to have a listen.

That's unusual... typically the SA will ask for your custom plates to be delivered to the delivery centre 5 days before your scheduled pickup date. Did you have the plates sent over and they forgot to install them?

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

@ShireSparkles, my SA rang to deliver the bad news. Quite a few others got the same call from their SA... basically those who ordered in Q4 2021 and still not assigned a VIN are unfortunately looking at Q2 production. The reason given was Tesla significantly underestimated the number of AU...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Don't get too overly excited @Azure7 and @trippa, that status comes and goes like the wind. I have had it show as 8-12 weeks when I ordered in Dec 2021, then switched to 14-20 weeks, then disappeared, then back to 8-12 weeks, then my ordered was officially delayed to Q2, then it disappeared...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

This is probably most surprising to me, the number of LR orders in relation to RWDs, the previous years were more like 70:20:10 or thereabouts. Although the data gathered here is only a partial view of the full story, it suggests that Tesla definitely underestimated the orders for LRs and Ps to...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

It's highly likely your order will be delayed to Q2 since you haven't been assigned a VIN and a delivery window by now, like many of the LR and P orders. Production cycle in Q2 will mean earliest delivery will likely be mid-May, similar to mid-Feb deliveries we are seeing now for Q1 built cars...

Don't worry Ardie... you have some company here too. ;) Here's to a slight glimmer of hope in the way of either the "mystery VIN list" magically popping out, or... a last minute cancellation getting allocated.

The LR model ordered by Kevsaccount has no change in performance between 2021 and 2022. It only affected the RWD model.

The LRs getting VINs today seem to be those who placed their orders in Nov... I haven't received anything but my OD is 10 Dec. Possibly in the next 24-48 hours hopefully.

Sandy Munro pulling apart the Model S Plaid, at 17:31 they removed the low voltage Li-Ion battery for a closer look. Real compact and light, this should be the same one coming in the 2022 M3s from China. Tesla is continually innovating and improving their products...

    Model 3 Number plate options

Can I please ask members who received the Tesla number plate covers (looks like Altrex covers), do they simply clip on to the front of the number plate from the front using those 4 clips at the corners like the image below? Does it mean there's no separate backing plate supporting the number...

Struggling between Model 3 RWD and AWD

It depends... even Audi's own Quattro system is different depending on engine configuration (east-west or north-south). The earlier Quattros are reactive systems as it requires a certain wheel slip angle before power is diverted either to the front or rear. Later models with more electronics are...

Struggling between Model 3 RWD and AWD

The current M3 RWD represents phenomenal value for what you get, especially in states where you also qualify for incentives and rebates.
