Sounds like one of those odd situations where software/hardware interop needs a kick. I suggest a full reboot and a power off reset. Be patient on the power off, touching nothing for at least three minutes before power up...

Sounds like you're describing Sentry Mode. You can read about its use and operation in the current owner's manual on page 150. The manual is available for offline viewing by logging in to your MY TESLA account area. The warning screen only appears when the cameras detect close-in activity.

Post your video here so we can evaluate to see if it sounds like the known 'shudder' issue. I've never known the issue to be related to the drive unit being 'cold'.

Yes, the geofenced Tesla service center will update your car automatically, but only if you've been issued an open service ticket. Apparently this did sometimes work (by parking closely enough to connect to TeslaService wifi), but Tesla got wise to it.
