    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

I agree, that's a reasonable desire: "I set it there, leave it alone!" It would be nice if they supported BOTH definitions.

    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

@Resist, my car is currently on v.11.1 (2024.8.9), which was released about a week ago. @r1200gs4ok, can't you set an offset from the posted speed, either fixed or percentage? (Controls > Autopilot > Set Speed > Speed Limit) But actually I would prefer the behavior you don't like. When TACC...

    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

The car was trying to go 50mph (the posted speed) on a twisty road. My hands WERE on the wheel, else I believe I would have gone over the edge when the AP let go of the wheel. After a few times of that, I slowed the car well below the posted limit. And no, it did NOT warn me before it stopped...

    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

Not bad at all. However I did see one extremely crowded site in Springfield MO. I don't think I've ever seen a totally-full charging station before -- but at this site all 10 stalls were busy, AND there were 5 cars waiting in line! I assume that was due to increased eclipse traffic.

    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

Ah, I guess they cut FSD to $99 just yesterday! Still not cheap but it's a lot more reasonable. "Foot over the accelerator" is exactly how I nearly rear-ended half a dozen cars last week. Apparently my foot is heavier than yours, and I end up overriding AP's ability to stop. I just suddenly...

    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

@nate704 I accept that AP is a half-way freebie solution, but downright dangerous behavior (dropping autosteer in the middle of a high-speed corner) is a damn poor way to handle it. I'm amazed we don't hear more about fatal crashes caused by AP letting go of the wheel and the car going off a...

    2022 MYLR complaints (autopilot)

I took my MYLR on a 2000-mile eclipse-chasing trip, and I had a number of issues / complaints. Any insights? Autopilot was a godsend on the endless plains of Kansas, but not so good on twisty Ozark roads. The posted speeds were a bit high for the curves, and AP didn't do a very good job of...

    Basic cruise cobtrol

Somewhat related: I'm happy with TACC. It works fine for me. But one oddity: sometimes it adjusts the speed when I pass a speed limit sign. Sometimes it doesn't. How can I get it to always adjust the speed, so I know I can trust it? (Similar to the door locks. Sometimes they lock when I...

    Supercharger - Branson, MO (speculation)

Thanks, that's what I thought. When Tesla.com says "NACS adapter required to charge at this Supercharger" it would be nice if they'd clarify by adding "NON-TESLA vehicles require it." No news on the Branson Supercharger?

    Supercharger - Branson, MO (speculation)

Right, but I'm not asking about CCS vehicles. Does a Tesla need an adapter at a NACS site? Or are they CCS-only?

    Supercharger - Branson, MO (speculation)

Has there been any progress on the Branson Supercharger? I'm planning to go eclipse-chasing in April, picking up a friend in Branson. Coming from the NW (originating north of Denver) it looks like I could charge in Springfield MO, visit my friends in Branson (and probably juice up a bit with...

    I don’t trust Tesla maps

My brother has always insisted Tesla uses Google maps. He points to the "Google" note in the lower-right corner and considers that proof. However they are VERY different. * Tesla maps have different information, different presentation, etc. * Tesla maps have different data. E.g. T maps are...

Auto play upon entering with iPhone with Bluetooth and Spotify?

@stevehollx I have an Android phone so this may be a different issue, but ... My autoplay wasn't working, and I finally figured out the app setting on the Spotify app didn't allow it to run in the background. All I had to do was open the app and it would start playing... duh, because it...

    Spotify not starting

Aha! I may have figured it out. About once a week, the phone would pop up a message complaining that Spotify couldn't run in the background. But I was always driving at that point, and it did play when I opened the app, so I didn't dig into the options to figure it out. Well a few days ago I...

I tend to suspect Spotify, since just opening the app is enough to kick-start it. If it was a connection problem, opening the app wouldn't do anything.

    Spotify not starting

When I got my Y a year ago, I started using Spotify with Bluetooth. No Premium Connectivity. I was pleased that it worked the way I wanted: when I left the car, the player paused, and then it automatically started up again when I got back in the car. Well that worked for a while. But for...

Tire replacement at Tesla while traveling

My front passenger tire had a barely noticeable leak from the time it was new. Maybe should’ve taken it in for that, but I didn’t. And now (9 months, 7500mi later) the leak is speeding up. Usually it’s not too bad, but it has lost as much as 8–10 psi in 24 hours. How should I service it? Just...

Drove it like an ICE the other day

I'm back from my 2400mi trip. I managed to stay a bit closer to the speed limit this time (honest, @Pianewman!) and it DID make a difference. * Around town I usually get about 250 Wh/m * Last fall, driving about 85mph most of the 2000mi round trip, I averaged 340 Wh/m * Last week, driving about...

How do I make it shut up!??

I'm not saying the car has to detect crime. I'm saying that I personally don't believe it's a crime to open a door from the inside, and it shouldn't sound an alarm. An inside person is a trusted person. If the alarm detects the smashed window like it should, then there is no need to sound the...

How do I make it shut up!??

I didn't realize Camp Mode affected security settings &etc! I thought it just held the temperature in the cabin so you could have a comfortable night's sleep. EDIT: I see it also disables the walk-away lock. I would hope the car would alarm long before a thief tried to open it from the...

How do I make it shut up!??

Umm. You may be onto something there. Last night, after settling into my sleeping bag, my phone notified me that the doors were unlocked. Huh, okay, I told it to lock them. That's the first time it's done that, and I don't think I've ever locked the doors myself when camping. I just checked...

How do I make it shut up!??

I'm on a road trip in my Y, and last night I parked at a busy roadside rest stop for the night. This morning before sunrise, I needed some facilities that the car doesn't provide, so I hit the door button on one of the rear doors. First time nothing happened - it just woke up the indicator...

Drove it like an ICE the other day

I generally drive 80-85mph on interstates, and I find I get lower mileage -- about 300+ W/mi vs 250 in town. More air resistance at high speeds, and almost no regen braking. I'm leaving on a 2500mi trip next week, and I plan to try driving at the speed limit for a change. See if 75mph makes...

doors not unlock as I walking up to the car

I don't have an iPhone, but... my phone seems to have extremely limited range for unlocking the car. I normally keep it in my back pocket. When I walk up to the car, I pull the handle and nothing happens. I continue pulling the handle. As soon as I turn and get the phone within about 6" of...

My phone (old Samsung S8) has to be within about 6" of my MYLR to open the car. I usually carry it in my back pocket. I'll walk up to the car and pull the handle -- nothing happens. Then, still holding the handle, I turn and aim my butt at the door -- poof, it pops open. Auto-locking is a...

I actually don't object (much) to the hands-on requirement. It's the "kick me every 15 seconds and force me to joggle the wheel" that drives me nuts after a few thousand times. I'll have to work on the "continuous slight pressure so it never nags" technique. Those are actually the exact...

@MichaelP90DL yes that's the quick/easy fix I mentioned. @Evpowerdan the way I calculated it was independent of battery size or range. I just determined the average I paid at Superchargers and the average Wh/mile. $/kWh * kWh/mile * miles produces $. The kWh and miles cancel out.
