Is it common knowledge that wheel spacers reduce range?

From an engineering standpoint the weight of spacers could be a factor but it would surely be an insignificant variant. However, the above mentioned wife could effect range, heat or no heat, by a more significant amount by the addition of static mass measurable in individual examples.

    Type of lifting Jack ?

Agreed. Shop all of their jacks and sign up for their coupons to get pretty awesome deals. I've had this low profile lightweight jack for several years - bought to jack a 356 and works great for Teslas now. The cars are heavy but one corner is light enough for a 1.5 or 2 ton model...

    Screen locks up!

You could power down if you want more speed. it's a button in the 'service' menu. (or maybe I've got it's placement wrong even though I've used it. I'm old - I have the earned privilege of forgetfulness.)

Help me choose: M3P inventory vs. Highland?

Hi Moe, I hate being impolite but I really don't think I'm ready to give an evaluation of the car yet as for assorted reasons I haven't been able to spend a good amount of time driving it. I do think it corners as well as the older - but it's different. The sound system is better but it's so far...

Help me choose: M3P inventory vs. Highland?

No product? I took delivery March 26, 2024 in Portland, OR. They aren't yet available on the east side? Can say for sure - the interior lighting, both foot well and the color ring (around the bathtub) CAN be turned off at owner's discretion. It's hard for me to tell for sure as I don't have...

    FSD Transfer Question

Ya, but this was a trade-in of my previous car for which I had purchased FSD. Tesla's offer was to transfer FSD from old to new at no cost if new was delivered by March 31. I don't know it factually but it seemed that Tesla waited for my trade-in FSD car was inventoried after my release of...

Is Stealth Grey a metallic paint?

Really? I just traded my 2022 M3 in midnight silver and never saw a shade which I'd call "plum". Instead it had a distinct blue shade which appeared in various light - sometimes when overcast, sometimes when the car was in a shaded place on a sunny day. Now I never think of plums as blue. I see...

I took delivery of my shiny new "Highland" yesterday and somehow made it home (22 miles) using the t/s buttons and not putting my arm out, not even once. It was after all how I passed my first license driving test in 1964. At the time even though many new cars were delivered with stalks...

3.5 year MYLR update 179.7k miles

Sometimes it's not about cost. For 20 years I drove 120 miles a day so that I could live in a mountain community and not in the city. I'd sure have liked doing it in a Tesla but back then Elon was not available.

Model 3 Highland (US) Waiting room

I'm confused over why you ordered your new car with FSD if you expect the free transfer of FSD from your old to your new? I hope they're easy about returning your money. I will go get my Highland on Tuesday (ordered Feb 6) and expect the transfer of FSD per Tesla's offer. FWIW, my expected...

Yes, I have similar conditions during winter, more severe some years than others and I'm sure never so severe as yours. Is Stealth Grey a metallic paint?

Yeah, I like the blue that comes in sunlight and other lighting conditions with the midnight paint. Tesla Model 3 Highland Audio System

That's true, but I doubt Tesla is making their speakers. I don't know who they get them from but in large measure they're not bad. The sound system could be improved but it's likely to take $3- 5000. to notice the improvement unless all you want is to rattle windows as you drive down streets...

Is Stealth Grey a metallic paint?

It's darker than the previous and I saw somewhere that it changes colors in varying light. Sounds confused and probably expensive to repair so I ordered black for my soon to arrive Highland. Black is a PITA to keep sharp looking but nothing is as classy as black cars except black motorcycles (HD).

Yes, it is good news. My highland order fluctuated it's delivery into April but over the span since my Feb 6 order it has gradually narrowed and stands today at March 16 - Mar 31, still without a VIN. So it ruffled my feathers a little at first patience has paid off and this from John Kraus...

M3 Highland - Demo Drive Thoughts

"My disappointment stems from the acceleration curve. The 0-30mph(yes 30, was not able to reach 60 due to speed limits) felt considerably slower than my 2018 which doesn't add up. Despite having all wheel drive, new, full charge, outdoor temps, etc. I tried coming up for reasons for this...

I think the trick is to NOT signal your turns. If (and around here it's a big if) you're ever pulled over for not signaling just show the car to the cop and ask him to show you how to signal. They're all trained in driving safety after all and should be happy to help....until they can't.

I agree although I've not driven an S Plaid. I have floated around in a 2015 Model S and didn't ever like it very much. I own a 22 M3LR and am currently in the midst of a trade for a Highland (Their new offer of allowing the FSD transfer to new car if delivered by 3-31 made me jump). Maki, I...

    Making my model Y safer

In a model 3 it isn't that the mirror is too small it's that the view through the rear window is very narrow/small, made so by the interior of the car. Also, the car's camera app gives us use of the wide angle backup camera. The wide angle will not give an accurate view behind the car on a...

2023 Model Y Performance -- Impressions After First Drive

I'm interested in how a MY performance handles if compared to a M3 performance or even a M3lr. I have a 2022 M3lr and after a lifetime of sports cars or sports sedans I think it's the best handling car I've ever had. The wait was long for any Model Y when I bought my current car and I don't...
