Added 12v Outlet in the Trunk

Weird that it's not in the manual, but yes MX and MY have 12v outlets in the trunk already, but unfortunately not M3 and MS.

Added 12v Outlet in the Trunk

The thing to be careful of is the total draw on this circuit. Since this is tapped off the existing 12v outlet that's in the center console, it's bound by the same meager limit of 12A (or 144 watts). Quick googling leads me to believe that the G30 charges around 2A @ 120V, which would put you...

    Supercharger - Lynnfield, MA

Heads up for anyone in the area, it sounds like a number of stalls are out of service here due to vandalism :( Supercharger Vandalism Lynnfield MA This used to be my primary charger before I got home charging and it's always a busy SC, hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Model 3 two-thumb reboot fails: black screen

Sorry to hear that didn't fix it for you, :( but hopefully it ends up being a quick turnaround for you once it gets to Tesla!

Model 3 two-thumb reboot fails: black screen

As others mentioned, I would try a full shutdown. It's safe to do, you don't actually touch any high voltage stuff, that connector under the rear seat is actually a low voltage component that just supplies the HV contactors. I did it a few times while installing my trunk 12v, the only tool...

    Overheat protection

The back of the touchscreen being warm isn't related to the MCU processor. The MCU lives in the dash behind the glovebox and is liquid cooled as part of the rest of the vehicle's component cooling loop.

75 vs 82 kWh battery question

As far as I know, the "75D" identifier only ever applied to Model S. A 2022 M3LR should be an 82kWh gross pack and I'd probably chalk this up to a weird identifier in whatever system your insurance company is using for VIN lookups.

    Overheat protection

No, there's no need. Overheat protection is to protect against a situation where child or pet is forgotten in the car, not to protect the car itself.

Opinions: Model 3 w/o Home Charging or Garage

Given that you do have L2 charging access 2x a week on an otherwise short commute, you'll be fine. Having 2 superchargers nearby is an extra plus for a boost when needed if you do a lot more driving than normal. You'll get used to a different type of EV ownership than the folks on here who swear...

    Supercharger - Gloucester, MA

It should be a 250kW v3, I'm fairly sure Tesla isn't installing any v2 stations anymore (at least not in NA).

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

This would make basic autopilot so ridiculously annoying. Today changing lanes on basic AP is a matter of signal, lane change, re-engage without thinking about a speed change. This also tracks with many other automakers' lane-keep and TACC systems. TACC deactivation should be an intentional...

Massachusetts EV Off-Peak Charging for National Grid customers?

Does this work that the off-peak starts up again at 12:01am on Monday morning? I signed up for this program a few weeks ago and I've been otherwise trying to push off my post-weekend charging until Monday evening.

    Supercharger - Gloucester, MA

Since it's still "Coming Soon" on the Tesla site, the pin will just be in a generic location in the town. Once the location actually opens, the pin will move to the correct spot.

Model 3 Left Rear Control Arm failed inspection

As previously mentioned, the service manuals are public now so I'm not sure why your mechanic wouldn't do the work. That being said, it looks like you have your location listed as New Hampshire so Electrified Garage could be an option for you: Electrified Garage Tesla Service Center.

Added 12v Outlet in the Trunk

Thanks! I'd considered this but was hesitant to tap the 12v battery directly after reading Ingineerix's warning here: . I totally get not wanting to splice an existing wire though under warranty, I was willing to accept the risk here since the amount of things that I could have "broken" with...

Added 12v Outlet in the Trunk

I got a 12v fridge/cooler a few months ago for road tripping and was a little jealous of the Model Y folks who had their convenient 12v outlet right there in the trunk. Sure pulling the cable to the front wasn't the worst thing, but I always wished I had something slightly more convenient. I...

Teslamate projected range down about 2% within just a month of purchase - M3LR

I use Teslafi instead of Teslamate but here's my chart after almost 10 months of ownership. The pack has very seldom been brought up to a high enough SOC to balance. I'm all for looking at data like this out of curiosity, but keep in mind that this data is all a guess that the BMS is making and...

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Yep that’s funny wording on my part, I wrote activation but I meant “control”. I’m not sure if the bonus module lets you manually specify the state of the heater on or off but that’s certainly the toggle we probably all wish we had.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

I admittedly don’t know a ton about it, but the Ingenext Bonus Module does support manual activation of the battery heater BONUS Module - For Tesla Model 3.

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Nope, I ordered one a couple of weeks ago and they didn’t need my Tesla info. Just expect a week or so of radio silence from them before it ships, then DHL was pretty quick to get mine out to the east coast.

Windshield Replacement Advice - Boston Area

Windshields may not be delayed by months anymore. I called Today's Collision in Malden a couple of weeks ago after seeing them recommended in another thread here and the windshield they ordered for me came within 10 days. I'd imagine Safelite and others are getting them similarly quickly now.

    Boston Area Inspection

Not too far north shore per se, but I've started taking my cars to Mass Inspection Inc. in Somerville (pretty much right off 93, and right down the street from the almost-complete Somerville supercharger). broadwaygas4847564-354572-sml-1 They only do inspections and the line moves quick, and...
