That's fair but some people have an urgent need to purchase a vehicle. For example, if your lease is up (which happens to be my situation). Mercedes Benz Dealers are marking up G class SUV's by $100K so a couple hundred to a few thousand for a reservation is actually quite the deal.

Does anyone know if a tesla reservation transfer is possible? I see chatter about it in the FS threads but how does it actually work? I appreciate the information.

Sold! Tesla trade-in offered more than the original purchase price of the car. Pretty shocking but for those of you on the fence about tesla trade in, i highly recommend them. I got offers from private party, carmax, carvana, and vroom. Tesla was higher than all of them.
