    MYLR all season tyres

It’s very similar for rim protection to the stock Hankooks. Ie you’ll still end up curbing them, but they otherwise are fairly flush

    MYLR all season tyres

Got them as imports from mytyres.co.uk. Took a fair while to arrive, and the price varied day to day while I was deciding which to get. Ultimately paid £246/tyre + fitting at my local SE tyres. Interestingly the UK Vredestein site doesn’t seem to list them - they’re 255/45/R19 104W XL, so same...

    MYLR all season tyres

Got Vredestein Quatrac Pro EV all seasons fitted today on my 19” Geminis (https://www.vredestein.co.uk/car-suv-tyres/products/1962-QUATRAC-PRO-EV/). Will do some range comparisons shortly, but rim protection is good on these. Bit noisier than the stock Hankook’s, but not hugely.

    MYLR all season tyres

This was for a Halfords mobile appointment, so paid for the tyres and mobile install date a week in advance of the install date (which was only a day or so after their first available date). So - I think I would have a reasonable expectation they would actually have ordered the tyres at the...

    MYLR all season tyres

After all this I get a call from Halfords this morning that the tyres (that I have already paid for) didn’t show up and they now can’t source them. Not going to be using them again

third party model Y wheel covers

I see they’re not shipping to the UK yet (although do have some international destinations now). What’s the current go-to US export service folks are using?

    MYLR all season tyres

I’ve got the Goodyear 4Seasons SUV ones coming for a mobile install on Monday. They are 255/45/19/104W. C efficiency, B wet, so not my first choice but at least are correct speed rating.

    [UK] 2023.44

I’m getting these fairly regularly since the holiday update as well.
  9. C

    MYLR all season tyres

I’ve got the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons SUV tyres coming for a mobile appointment on Monday - largely because they are available at the moment, they are W speed rated, and Halfords is doing a 10% off 4 tyres at the moment (£752 all up for 4). Will post a picture of rim fit when they’ve been fitted.

    TACC random slowing down

In my recent cases I’m on a rural road, so speed limit 60. Speed limit still shows 60 even when slowing down. Shouldn’t make a difference for TACC though - I do have EAP and that automatically slows down in slower areas. TACC doesn’t

    TACC random slowing down

Having some weird behaviour from TACC since updating to 2023.44.30.5.1 - TACC will randomly start slowing down for no reason. Happened 3 times in a recent 20 mile drive, including on a straight road with no cars in sight. Anyone else seeing this? I wouldn’t call this phantom braking - this is...

Ticket for not charging at a non-functional charger

Understand your point, but also think you’re missing the detail that if I was plugged in I wouldn’t have got a ticket. In any case, yet another reminder to follow the absolute letter of requirements for EV charging - even if they don’t make sense. Otherwise you’ll end up having to waste your...

Ticket for not charging at a non-functional charger

Inevitable I suppose - got a £100 ticket for parking my Model Y in a EV charging bay at Haywards Heath railway station (parking operated by Apcoa), but not actually being plugged into the non-working PodPoint charger. Didn’t bother to plugin because there was no light. Didn’t have time to move...

Zoom App and Company Zoom Accts

That’s not the issue - when using SSO you get directed to your company’s login page, and mine has a drop down box for the domain that you have no way to select. As I’m not in the default, I’m out of luck

Pointless dent repair recommendations (East Sussex)

Autocorrect on the title, but an amusing one

Pointless dent repair recommendations (East Sussex)

I’ve got a small dent on my drivers side door where someone has opened their car door into the side of my MYLR. I’ve heard about paintless dent repair - does anyone have any recommended folks who work in East Sussex? Especially ones who offer mobile repair (ie come to you)?

    M3 to MY upgrade advice

Not when you also need to be able to tow it behind a bike as well 😉
  19. C

    M3 to MY upgrade advice

My main reason for getting a Model Y over a 3 was because of the massive double pushchair we had, that didn’t fold down very much. The hatch is really handy for piling stuff in.

    Andersen EV charger support

Have you called their customer support?

What do you do with your house keys (for those that use their phone as a car key)?

I do the same, except I have a MagSafe wallet with 3 cards (1 rail smart card, 1 debit card, drivers license). I had an issue early where I was out and the car decided that it didn’t want to recognise the phone key, so now always have the fob on me too as backup.

M3 Refresh - Are Indicator buttons really poor design?

Hopefully they fixed the reliability issues that the capacitive indicator buttons had in the Model S Plaid. Even more of a PITA if one of your indicators stops working half of the time

The car ones are XL as well

I note there are CC2 in both car and SUV versions with slightly different specs. Any difference on how far the rims poke out?

Holiday on the Isle of Wight - first time using public charging points!

Tapnell Farm (the Cow restaurant) has removed their Tesla destination chargers (one of which was 22kW) and replaced them with two VoltShare 7kW chargers. No longer free (and not shown in ZapMap at the moment) but they are there.

    Model Y tyres

I’ve still got 4.5mm on my stock Model Y LR 19” Hankooks with 17,646 miles on them. I’m going to be looking to eke out the summer and go to all seasons when I change.

    Parking and charging in Brighton?

If you use BP Pulse there are a number of chargers that often have availability in the NCP Brighton Theatre car park. Turn right immediately upon entering, before you go up the ramp.

    Andersen EV charger support

I did end up getting a complete replacement innards as well - props to the new owners for being willing to honour the previous owners warranties, even though they don’t have to. Now just waiting until next week for the installer to come and do the swap over.
  29. C

    Andersen EV charger support

My A2 just stopped working yesterday - seems to have stopped detecting that it’s plugged into a car. Have called support and opened a case, and will be trying a goodwill warranty claim as the new owners are not officially honouring the previous owners warranties. Will see how we go with that

    [UK] Model S/X LHD Discussion

Based on stories I'm seeing this is not UK specific - same stories for Australia as well. Looking at the Tesla GB website, inventory of LHD cars available for delivery shortly.... but would you want a LHD car?

Zoom App and Company Zoom Accts

You’re doing better than me - I can’t even login to my company Zoom as the domain drop-down on the SSO login I get doesn’t drop down, so I can’t enter the correct one.

    TuneIn losing BBC stations

This is the same reason you can’t listen to the main BBC stations on an Apple HomePod. Those streams come from TuneIn too, and Apple won’t share data on listeners either.

    Choosing a song

I have the same thing happen when I ask the Tesla voice assistant for a song, also since enabling Apple Music. Frustratingly it’s also not consistent - sometimes it will play a song when requested and display the search results another time. For the same song. Note - I’m usually requesting...

    Bank Transfer to Tesla refused by HSBC [UK}

Ah, I had misread your response. That is something that many US banks, including HSBC US, offer so I wonder if that responder was from outside of the UK
  38. C

    Bank Transfer to Tesla refused by HSBC [UK}

That’s not correct anymore. Not all the banks support it (the bank I work at does) but it’s been around since 2020: Confirmation of Payee
  39. C

    Bank Transfer to Tesla refused by HSBC [UK}

Possibly this is an issue with Confirmation of Payee anti fraud checks (where your bank is able to check the name on the account is what you’ve supplied). For some reason Tesla’s UK bank doesn’t support this - this is a known issue: Cash Buyer - My bank doesn't recognise Tesla account

First drive today how do I charge model y

All correct. The second cable will be a standard Type 2, which will plug into most chargers that aren’t the fast CCS ones (which have tethered cables). You shouldn’t need an adapter or second cable type for most use cases. What level you charge your Model Y to will depend on which battery you...

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

A lot of the Tesla related stuff is exactly this - how Tesla have eliminated things over time, which tells you a lot about what Tesla is focused on as they continue to scale. Simpler to make = faster and cheaper to make = further scale
  42. C

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

Is it a guess on their part? Yes. Is it an informed guess because they have decades of experience in working with auto manufacturers on how to build cars better, yes. I’ve also been following them for a while - they’re bullish on Tesla, but mostly because they’re the only car manufacturer...

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

I have a MYLR that will be coming up to 1 year old in a month - my first Tesla and my first BEV (previously had PHEV). It has its annoyances, but I’m planning on keeping for at least 4-5 years (maybe longer) before I look for anything else. By that time I’ve got to imagine the EV market and...

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

And it looks like Tesla has just dropped prices on new cars. That’s not going to help resell prices on used cars either. My car would now be approx £2k cheaper now than it was in March (MYLR)

    Winter with a Tesla

Btw, would not recommend driving on snow with summer tires unless you have to. Regardless of the 4wd and off-road assist working better than I expected.
  46. C

    Winter with a Tesla

On the Hankook tires that came with my Model Y. I turned on off-road assist as soon as I was driving on snow and had it on for the entire way home. And no - this was driving on soft snow. A22 from East Grinstead southwards. Mostly somewhere between 7-15mph.
  47. C

    Winter with a Tesla

Got caught in a big dump of snow on my way home to East Sussex from London today. Impressed how well off road assist worked on my MY LR. Made a big difference, and was able to carefully make it up some hills that other folks could not get up. I will probably get some snow socks to leave in the...

Has anyone done this upgrade with a UK delivered MY LR (March 2022 / 1st set of shipments)? Assume we don’t have the data cable, or do we?
