I probably wouldn’t do that. Based on my experience you pay first then see the vehicle. You don’t have to do the final acceptance until after you see the vehicle. It was literally the last step before I drove away. But if your plan is to wait as long as possible I’d just bring the cashier’s check.

It was 2 weeks for me. You have three days to pick a delivery time. And for me my times were 2 weeks in the future so you should have plenty of time to plan accordingly. For the people getting rejects it seems to move much faster.

No one contacted me when I was assigned a VIN. My assumption is they don‘t reach out until the paper is finished — which mine isn’t. With your VIN you can do your insurance stuff but that’s about it. Financing requires the paperwork.

Got a VIN 247xxx and new EDD 5/20-5/24. Noticed in the app. Doesn’t look like all the paperwork is complete yet though. I’m financing through DCU and need that to move forward on the loan.

I was typing a post at the same time you made yours -- DCU will go 1.99% up to 65 months. I didn't see a downpayment requirement. I think they'd do up to 100%.

Sure, but there's a column on the Tesla loan spreadsheet called "Join rules" and everything is either Restrictive or Open. The one I'm referring to is listed as "Open" and if you view the requirements it's pretty darn simple to sign up. Anyone can join.

That was my thought. I think at one point DCU's rates were pretty low with the EV discount they gave but these days it looks like with the discount they're at 2%. Which is great! But to be able to get the same rate with the option of a longer term seemed like a good thing.

I’m a 2/15 OD and very minor movement as well. It’s almost like any of the orders that just missed the Q1 cut are the ones that seem to have more solid EDDs.

Why can’t you drive to work? If you made the choice to sell your previous vehicle based on your EDD I can understand the frustration but the EDD was never a guarantee. From a technical perspective I’m sure it’s pretty difficult for them to accurately estimate every single car perfectly.

Mine hasn’t moved in a few weeks. Hoping that’s a good sign. My OD is 2/15 so hopefully I’m on of those mid Feb east coast deliveries that’ll be near the front of the line in May.

Just remember if there’s materials those aren’t cheap. Mine was $900 but half of that was materials and the other labor.

No offense to those SAs but I feel like they’re completely speaking anecdotally. My assumption is that there was a lot of movement for people on the Q1 bubble. But hopefully that’s all settled out now. It just seems there haven’t been too many new VINs going out so hopefully that’ll pick up soon.
