When will trial start rolling out?

Based on history, you will stay on 11.x. 12.x is currently on the 2024.3 track and your car will not downgrade from 2024.8. There is no such option to "purchase the FSD Supervised..." You just buy FSD.
  4. S

    Still don’t have FSD trial.

Talk to Elon, of course. I'm sure he'll take care of it :p:oops:😁

When will trial start rolling out?

According to TeslaFi, it does not have 12. Sorry. I am on 8.9 awaiting for 12. I am trying to recall the typical timeline when they update FSD on the non-beta (I know it's not beta anymore) track. It may take a few months. Last year, it was a matter of NOT updating the non-FSDb track and...

Thank you! Of course its not shown underneath Commander, but rather Buttons. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

I came upon a page that compared the difference between Commander Gen 1 vs. Gen 2, but cannot find it again. Does anyone know where it is?

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

And you made my point exactly :) It was "just a thought" but whoa that is a lot of feelings that got stirred up lol. I don't think anyone would think that this should or could be implemented.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

If S3XY can "see" the flashing and "hands on wheel" nag, it can automatically execute the function "Autopilot hands on". Before anyone react and pontificate on the implications, this is just a thought.

Wiki Matrix LED Headlights Retrofit Journey

Appreciate reading this and your previous post. It's always nice to have someone with deep technical knowledge and explains the background in detail.

Wiki Matrix LED Headlights Retrofit Journey

However sexy they appear, I do not believe they can integrate with factory intelligence and sensors. IF matrix features worked, third-party headlights won't work, even if it is a projector. I also do not know if auto-leveling would work, etc.

Any experiences with touch up paint other than factory?

I tried a few others, none matched perfectly. Either too dark or too light. Metallic paints are hard to match as is in part because of the way the flakes lay down, but MSM is a complex paint. I'm not surprised that it's hard to match. I am curious to hear from those who have the factory...

    Uberturbine Aero Covers

I would think that 1% is within the margin of error. I am not aware enough controlled-testing data to conclusively say that it is in fact more efficient. It's more about the look. If one wants the look, they will also likely accept a 1% reduction (if true).

What to do when Power Frunk Completely Fails to Open?

To prevent water incursion, I am thinking about finding the lowest part of the pull cable, either cut a small slot or drill a small hole so that any water drips down through the latch area will drip away before it pools up in the sheath and work its way into the motor. Obviously, all the seams...

Are there any radar detector mounts for the Model Y?

Correct--I am less concerned about RADAR and LiDAR. Though detection is helpful, I was willing to live with any reduced sensitivity from mounting it high. As I wrote, "My priorities are the GPS-related features for speed and red light camera warnings." That is why I have a GPS-capable...

Are there any radar detector mounts for the Model Y?

Thanks. I knew the risk going in, but I've done this in the past on other cars with tint and have been able to remove the adhesive without affecting the tint. It takes a bit of heat and some patience. Slowly rolling it off works well. The quality of the tint and application matters too.

    Uberturbine Aero Covers

Hey, at least they didn't use "rimz".
  21. S

Are there any radar detector mounts for the Model Y?

Below is the way I mounted my R4. My priorities are the GPS-related features for speed and red light camera warnings. I am less concerned about radar and laser, so any reduced sensitivity from mounting it high was fine by me. I mounted it as high as possible while still clearing the...

  23. S

    Uberturbine Aero Covers

The fact that they use "rim" to describe a "wheel" (tire+wheel=wheel assembly) made them lose all credibility. The "rim" is the outer circumference of the wheel! ;-) j/k about the credibility.

EVOffer & Hansshow auto frunk - do they report status properly? And reliability?

Lol you forced them into making a video! I agree with you about the motor and its shape. The whole thing is awkward and worse, there are many unmitigated water incursion points. The Y is the same. There is a big hole where the latch is. I can totally see during wash or rain that water can...

What to do when Power Frunk Completely Fails to Open?

It's hard to tell from the photos, but do you have any indication as to where the water is entering? Depending on the location of the install, water splash on the motor itself enough to cause this problem? There are theories that water was running down the cable sheath into the motor. It was...

EVOffer & Hansshow auto frunk - do they report status properly? And reliability?

Here is an EVOffer video with claims on drain: I installed a version from late 2022/early 2023 (V5, I think) and do not see a phantom drain issue with my 15V lithium battery--yet. I took delivery in December 2022 and my Y has around 1100 miles on it so far, just to give you an idea on how...

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

@NZGUY, thanks for the update. For the wiring bundle that goes to the reverse light, do you know where the most forward (toward the front of the car) accessible point is? If it's under the dash somewhere, then we just need to find a route through the firewall into the frunk. I do have the...

Any experiences with touch up paint other than factory?

My on/off switchable PWS mod "for off-road use only"

RF is an option but still requires intervention although I know it can be done. At that point, wiring a switch to the dash is also an option. Here is a thread where I was looking for an automated way to turn it on/off. @NZGUY was looking to use the reverse light as the trigger. I do not know...

Vendor S3XY Buttons - Regenerative braking

    1) Does this imply that there will be a new generation of buttons coming with Gen 2 Commander? 2) What will the Gen 2 Commander do that Gen 1 won't do? 3) Any idea on the initial upgrade cost of Gen 2 Commander only upgrade? Thanks very much.

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

I have similar experiences as @lhw455. I find the information to be inconsistent and not always up to date. Even TeslaFi's information is not always accurate. The search key "Tesla 2023.xx.X" using Google yields Not a Tesla App as the top result with release notes. However, when I search...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

I see your point. For you, it's about blocking access to the storage compartment both in opening and the downward protrusion, which takes up space in the compartment. I guess it's a matter of priority for individuals to decide which utility -- storage or knob -- they want the most.

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

Can someone please confirm that 26.8 and 26.9 also includes FSDb? I tend to agree with what @JulienW opined above regarding the inclusion of FSDb, but looking for the trend to confirm. According to TeslaFi, 26.10 includes FSDb 11.4.4.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

I'm curious to understand what you find about the knob to be obtrusive. Which dimension is twice more than you would like it? What gives me pause is the location--if there were cups or bottles in the cup holder, it would greatly hinder the accessibility. This means that when a bottle is in...

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

Thanks for your information. I was basing it off of TeslaFi's list and this Youtube video (time coded to start at 0.07 where the guy said "non-FSD beta". It's good to know that 2023.26.7 still has FSDb. I will re-subscribe the next time I drive the car and see if FSDb returns while on 26.7...

Behavior of latest FSD beta after subscription ends

Update on software update behavior after FSD subscription ends: Shortly after my FSD subscription ended, I was offered and updated to 2023.20.9/11.3.6. A few days ago, 2023.26.7 showed up as an available update. I checked TeslaFi to see if 26.7 includes FSDb and could have sworn that I saw...

    FSD discussion

Will someone please clarify if 2023.26.7 includes FSDb (presuming 11.3.6)? I could have sworn that I saw on TeslaFi that 2023.26.7 includes FSD 11.3.6 a few days ago, but FSDb is no longer shown next to 26.7 today. Thanks.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

The Knob requires Gen 2 Commander, which, as far as I know, is not yet released. The Gen 2 Commander is backwards compatible with the Buttons. You would get the Knob with Gen 2 and replace your Gen 1. I read all this somewhere, just don't recall where at the moment.

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

Btw, ideally, the 12V power source is only "on" when the car is on. The relay would be wired such that PWS is enabled by default. This way, there is no parasitic drain from the relay.
  44. S

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

I have not found another solution. I will have to double check, but I believe the U.S. cars also makes a noise while in Drive/foward when below a certain speed. This is why I wanted to disable the PWS in both Reverse and Drive. In any case, if you try to implement this, please document the...

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

But if the rear lights are CAN bus-controlled, then you still have to find an analog signal. The ideal solution is to sniff the CAN bus for gear status. I know it can be done--build a CAN bus sniffer for specific data, then the sniffer will show 12V when in reverse (and drive, in my case)...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

That is not likely the reason. The headlights are ultimately analog, so are the wipers, yet S3XY can control them. S3XY is not controlling the endpoint device. Rather, they are interacting with the CAN signals. I believe that S3XY cannot control the PWS because there is no such function to...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Although I do not know if any of S3XY's existing features already qualifies as bypassing NHTSA regs, I asked this question before and it is currently not technologically possible. The PWS sound is not controllable via the CAN bus.
