Funny, I drove my dad's GLE and thought the suspension was broken or something because it was soft as hell even in sport. He took it in and the dealer told him nothing was wrong with it. I drive a MYP and my wife a QX50, but even she thought something was wrong with it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The guy that took the ride with me said the noise was normal. Told him a friend of mine got it replaced and it fixed the sound, which got him to change his mind. Just insist they look at it. It makes a huge difference.

Take your car in and ask them to check the penthouse perimeter seal. That solved many people's noise issues here. You will still hear it during heavy acceleration, but that is normal.

Elon has been basically warning everyone of slowing sales, bad auto loans, and a recession all on Twitter. He's basically pre-announcing bad news. The fact they had to discount Model 3 / Y cars in December was a huge sign.

Yeah Carplay and a proper 360 camera system are the only things I miss. I proper camera system would help with people curbing their rims too.

Forgot to update but this was what the tech found. Tried to get a picture, but they weren't able to get one for me. Test drove vehicle again with second technician verified noise and pinpointed noise left B pillar area floor. Used bore scope inspected all load floor crevasse and channels. Found...

Tell them your friend had the same issue and they replaced the penthouse seal and it fixed the problem. I'd even send them the picture of the seal from this thread.

Would it be the actuator if both sides work but just the right side is weaker than the left? Not sure I even want to take it in for service. Since I've already had to bring it in 2x for other issues on my 2022 MYP.

From what I remember, it was worse 40MPH+. I don't think I really heard it at low speeds. All I know is it is a night and day difference once it was fixed.

No. Mine was fixed by them adjusting the perimeter seal. Only hearing that noise during hard acceleration is normal. Hearing it at cruising speeds is not and was annoying as hell.

Yeah under full load is the only time I hear that now.

I would take it back. It's a huge difference once you get it fixed. Mine was a misaligned penthouse seal that was adjusted (I don't think it was replaced) and now the noise is gone.

Mobile tech was pointless. It sounds like it's at least under the carpet and even for that I need to take it to the service center.

Keep us updated. They're sending a mobile tech to diagnose for me, but will most likely need to take it in to a service center.

Any update on this? I seem to be having a similar issue. At a stop if I lightly step on the foot pedal and release it feels like something is loose and I hear a sound under me on the drivers side.

Tesla mobile tech came out to replace a broken mirror and was rough with getting initial plastic cover off and now there are nicks all around that area. Be careful folks.

Do you have more pictures of this? I also have some sliding noise under my driver's seat that sounds like a loose bolt.

I'm now noticing something sliding around under the drivers seat during braking and acceleration. Something probably wasn't put back properly when they fixed my car...

Both the bottom left and right corners of my front MYP windshield are missing a seal. Is this normal?

Tell them that you know it will fix the issue and show them pictures from this thread. I would not take no as an answer. The difference is very noticeable after they fix it. I wish I had taken mine in sooner.

Just saw one of these on the road last week. You'd probably have higher chances of getting a fix it ticket for this than not having a front plate.

No idea, but I scheduled a mobile tech to come out and look at it this weekend. You can't see anything out of the Y rear window anyways. lol

Took my MYP in to get a motor noise issue resolved and when I picked up my car I noticed some weird snowflake looking damage on the review mirror. I actually thought it was a sticker at first, but it seems to be under the glass damage. I know they parked the car in 100 degree weather outside...

Thanks for this! I just fwd the pic through the Tesla app, so my service advisor can show the tech working on the car. Just took mine in and they tried to tell me it was normal at first. When I said that my friends cars don't have it and one that did got their penthouse perimeter seal replaced...

You probably need to specifically tell them to check the Penthouse Perimeter Seal.

Do you know where the penthouse perimeter seal actually is? Is it on the motor or the rear seats? I've noticed that if I have my 2 kids sitting in the back seats, the sound is not as loud.

Not in SoCal? They're everywhere. Nobody gives a crap if you drive a Tesla TBH. I assume it's just Teslas actually record people doing it versus other cars that don't.

BMW tried to charge people for Carplay at first but then made it free after backlash.

Then people won't pay $10 a month for premium connectivity... I know I wouldn't.

It might be OK, if streaming through BT was better. No time left info for podcasts or songs and sometimes the artwork shows up and sometimes it doesn't.

Yeah, sometimes the album artwork shows up when I stream and other times it doesn't. Streaming on the Tesla OS is pretty crap.

My MYP would be almost perfect if it had Carplay and surround view cameras...

I still don't think this is fixed? One of my pet peeves is I don't know how much time is left in my podcast that I am streaming over BT.

Do you have before and after pics? Trying to figure out what part is missing and where it even goes.

I came from a 2019 C300 with 18" run flats. The ride is similar on my 2022 MYP. Wife and kids have not complained about a rougher ride at all. Our other car is a 2021 Infiniti QX60 which also has run flats and the ride isn't much softer.

I had cancelled my service appt for today since I was gonna just live with it but now I'll reschedule it to get this fixed. Please keep us updated.

I cannot hear anything your video. I also tried to record the noise on my iPhone and found the road noise was actually louder than the whine, which I could hear in person but not from a video.

Any heat issues with doing something like this?

More worried about them messing something up while fixing the noise at this point. Nobody in my family has complained about the noise, but now I can't stop hearing it because it might not be within spec. lol

So did they check for that insulation then? They're just contradicting themselves...

I have a March 2022 MYP. Is it not supposed to whine during acceleration and regenerative braking? I thought the Jetsons type noise was normal?

There is definite motor noise when accelerating and engine braking in my 22 MYP. Thought these were all normal things since you can barely hear them if music is on. I guess this is not normal based on some of these comments?
