Driving from ATL --> Chicago in July

Hi All, I will be driving/moving from ATL to Chicago in July. Anyone done this drive, tips, tricks, things to see, etc? Says ~12.5 hours on ABRP, planning on just doing it straight and maybe stopping at a rest stop for a few hours of sleep

    19in vs 20in Aftermarket Rims

Looking to upgrade my rim/tire set... Currently running stock 18's on Michelin PS3's. A few people have recommended jumping to 20in rims, but I am a little worried about that jump because the roads around my area are terrible (I live in Midtown ATL). Any pros/cons of both 19in and 20in rims...

    Total loss 22 MYP

Would you recommend Connect? (you go through Costco with that I assume?) Looking into it, sounds pretty solid if they were able to take care of you like this...

Costco Insurance Feedback (Geico Insurance is now over $200 a month, paid in full! absolutely ridiculous)

Good to know! I saw that Connect was by far the cheapest option I have seen for my 3. Since it is through Costco, I had to assume it was reputable and solid

Costco Insurance Feedback (Geico Insurance is now over $200 a month, paid in full! absolutely ridiculous)

Looking for feedback on Costco insurance... looks like there was 2 options through them, Connect (700 for 6 months) and Midvale (900 for 6 months). Has anyone used this for their Model 3, and any pros/cons other than the price? I have Geico now, and the price is getting ridiculous... now...

3 months unplugged & unused - minimal battery loss!

Keep us updated! Curious what it looks like in mid October, that will be the length of my stay as well. Except I am in Atlanta, temperature might be a little more moderate than up there lol

Should I leave my Model 3 plugged in while on 10 day vacation?

Wow nice, that's great data. My stay will be exactly double that, a 14% total drainage over that time would be incredible if that was the case haha

Should I leave my Model 3 plugged in while on 10 day vacation?

So I also have this issue, but for ~11 weeks. I am going to be away from my car for that long, and I live in an apartment where I can't keep my car plugged in. What I am going to do - turn off Sentry, AC overheat protection (car will be in ATL, temperature should not be > 75 in those weeks)...

3 months unplugged & unused - minimal battery loss!

Going to try it out this weekend... Taking my friends car on a trip, so going to turn off Sentry and AC overheat protection, see what the drainage is going to be over a ~3 day period

3 months unplugged & unused - minimal battery loss!

Wow, your car only lost 18% in 3 months?? I assumed the drainage would be much higher.... I am now facing this situation, as I am going back home to LA for 3 months and my car is in ATL. Weather should be temperate, so feel like the car won't need to turn on to cool/warm the battery. Will turn...

Safe to have a '17 LR Model-3 sit idle for ~11 weeks on a full charge?

Hey Tesla Fam, I currently live in Atlanta, and am planning on going back home to Los Angeles in late October. I was planning on being in LA through the first week of January. I was wondering if anyone has experience with an extended period of letting your car sit idle, nearly ~11 weeks. My...

18inch Tsportline wheels on model 3

What do you mean by the gap will be taken care of in time? Do tires expand that much?

18inch Tsportline wheels on model 3

Had a question... one of the wheel guys that I am talking to recommended that I upgrade my tires to 19in from 18in. He said 18in aftermarket wheels dont look that good on the Model3, and it wouldnt even be worth it. Is anyone running 18's on their Model3? Or is the consensus to upgrade...

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

Maybe a combination of the wind + high temperature

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

Definitely take the LR if you can! Also try to leave early in the morning... do most of your driving while the temp is still cool. 169 miles is a long stretch, but definitely doable if you limit your speed

I updated it the 2nd night I think! So had it for the last 3 days

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

Yeah it is LR, but has battery degradation. Think my 100% is like 285 miles, so almost 11% degradation since it was new. Depends where in Grand Canyon... we went to the south rim, there is a SC right near the entrance. But yeah the network is fairly limited in that area, I would say you could...

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

The AZ leg was from Baker to Kingman AZ. Middle of the day, it was like 105-110F the entire way. We kept the speed to 70 and under. In that specific area, I don't think wind was too much of a factor, I think the main detriment was high heat. We turned the AC off auto, and just put it on a lower...

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

I used ABRP primarily to map out charging stops and how long between each stop is. That tool is extremely clutch. Lots of people recommend the destination chargers, but in my opinion it is not worth it. The hotels they are at are super expensive. The cost savings at staying at a cheaper hotel...

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

Total supercharging cost was $260. Comparing this to my previous car (Lexus IS350), gas would have been ~$560 assuming 25mpg (which is on the higher side, probably would have been 23-24 mpg). Views were pretty incredible, I was pleasantly surprised at how green the middle of America is...

Coast to Coast Road Trip (LA --> ATL)

I drove my Model3 across the nation couple weeks ago, true coast to coast trip from LA to ATL. Here are some highlights: About 2400 miles, it took 5 days and 4 nights. Drove through AZ, went to Grand Canyon, NM, OK, ARK, AL, MS, and GA 23 supercharger stops Some were small stops, just to make...

    Los Angeles --> Atlanta ('18 Model3 LR)

Hey Everyone, I am moving to ATL, and I would like to drive (vs ship) out there with my Model3. Have been doing some preliminary research on the Tesla planner, and ABRP. Looks like it is doable, but my main question is the locations I need to get a hotel at. I assume I would need to stay...
