Plaid stops charging after 30-60m, 3rd party lectron ev charger.

I could believe that except it would do the same thing on the Mach-e (J1772).

Plaid stops charging after 30-60m, 3rd party lectron ev charger.

My solution was to buy another charger. I picked up the clippercreek version (50a nema 14-50) and haven’t had a single issue since, with either car. It’s definitely more expensive but, I guess worth it, because it’s been solid so far.

    Track Mode/ Safety Score

That’s pretty silly. I guess you can either track, or request fsd, but not both.

Is autopilot expected to change speeds based on detected speed limits?

I tried this again this morning, on my normal route, where the speed goes from 110 to 100. (Kph…). It’s driving on the 110 portion in autopilot (or enhanced? It’s the mode where it’s a single blue line in the middle of the road) at 115. Speed limit drops to 100, posted sign, car does not...

Is autopilot expected to change speeds based on detected speed limits?

Wait, its based entirely on nav and not reading signs? Reading signs should take precedence… how else will it deal with construction zones?

Is autopilot expected to change speeds based on detected speed limits?

Ok, thanks all! What I‘ve got is that it may or may not be expected to work, for vague or unknown reasons. :/ Unfortunate in that the car is aware of the speed limit change, but does nothing to alter the cruise speed, at least for me and where I’m driving.

Is autopilot expected to change speeds based on detected speed limits?

I paid the 'FSD capable' tax, I should have eap right? Maybe theres some setting I cant find, but I've tried a few times and its yet to adjust speed.

Fan running constantly in jack/tow mode? 2022 model S plaid.

Hmm, if I put my hand in front of it I could feel air being sucked in and it definitely changed pitch when I put my hand in front of it.
  9. D

Is autopilot expected to change speeds based on detected speed limits?

BlueCruise in our Mach-E automatically changes the set cruising speed based on the detected speed limit, but I've yet to see autopilot do the same. It will quite happily set itself at 121kph in a 110kph zone (set for 10% over), and then continue this into a 100kph zone, and an 80kph zone... even...

I went with these: Titanium lug nuts for Tesla Model S E X Y M14x1.5 I like that they are all effectively keyed.

    Model S rear window distortion?

That is a good question. I assumed it was the glass but maybe it’s the mirror itself. That might be easier to replace.

    Model S rear window distortion?

Well, good to know it's not just me then :/. Thanks!

    Model S rear window distortion?

Looking out my rear view mirror, it appears that every car behind me is some purpose built widebody race car. (Horizontal stretch). In the side mirrors, all appears normally proportioned. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a thing with the model S? Or is this potentially just a defect with...

Square SV501 295/295 setup on my plaid. Yes, it needs a wash. :) A few things I’ve noticed, the steering hunts a tad more over bumps now, but despite that seems more stable during launch. Also, drag mode launches are measurably quicker (around .1s on average)!

    Brake temperature sensor?

The refresh model S will display a warning for brakes being overtemperature, does anyone know how this works? Is there an actual temperature sensor somewhere?

Model S Plaid 0-100-0 (KPH) Testing

Did a few tests with the RB rotors and pads installed (RB Install Thread), I intend to do a more complete review but thought I'd post some numbers in here and a few thoughts. Before that though, I want to say that for anyone considering this kit, should you have a plaid (or any refresh model S...

Shops able to perform brake fluid changes in Edmonton Alberta?

As update to this, in case anyone else is curious, they will only do a fluid change at the Tesla service center with factory brake fluid.

Plaid Vinyl Wrap - Wild Orange

The taillights are tinted, it's not a very dark tint but it does have a dramatic effect. I think it was 35%.

Shops able to perform brake fluid changes in Edmonton Alberta?

Not sure if they’ll do it with other fluid, I’m looking to use rf 650.
  20. D

Shops able to perform brake fluid changes in Edmonton Alberta?

Apparently there's software required to run pumps in order to change brake fluid, is this something only a Tesla service center can do? Or if not, anyone aware of a shop around Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, who can?

    RB CCB install on Plaid

Went with the 390/365 option because I want to be able to use the factory 19s for winters, and liked that I could reuse the factory calibers. I also went with the stainless lines and larger pads (I’m not sure why you wouldn’t?). Really only a few things to note about the install, the rear...

The Yoke Lover’s master thread! 😀😍🥰😘

To add, I don’t mind my yoke being a yoke, I also don’t particularly like or dislike it either, I could take it or leave it. What does bother me is the turn signals being attached. To be fair I think this would bother me the same even if it was a traditional wheel. Even then, there’s only one...

Fan running constantly in jack/tow mode? 2022 model S plaid.

Car is up on a hoist, in jack mode, and towing mode, and there is a fan running constantly from in front of the passenger front wheel well. Climate control is off. Anyone know what this is? Photo of where the fan is attached. Noise is coming from that grill area which seems to be an intake.

A dilemma about a Ford Mustang Mach E on Order - What would you do?

Well, counter point maybe, but FWIW, my wife drives a MME GT PE and loves it. In many ways i also like it better than my plaid. Build quality seems a step above, bluecruise seems much more mature than autopilot, and it just feels more like a traditional car, no real gizmo factor. Not sure about...

Model S Plaid 0-100-0 (KPH) Testing

Just watched PlaidAF’s video doing similar testing, which I hadn’t watched before my own test, but I now wish I had. I do also distinctly recall a strong smell, maybe like burning, and wonder if I might have also been in the same scenario with very hot pads. I’ll definitely be sure to carry an...

Plaid stops charging after 30-60m, 3rd party lectron ev charger.

Hmm, the Tesla app claims max charge of 40a, to turn it to 38a I only dropped it down 2a. It does seem like it’s being very hungry, for whatever reason. Maybe the car and the app disagree as to the max charge amps?

Plaid stops charging after 30-60m, 3rd party lectron ev charger.

Curious if anyone else has had issues using 3rd party chargers. I have this: https://ev-lectron.com/collections/ev-charging-stations/products/lectron-level-2-ev-charging-station-j1772-cable-nema-14-50-plug A ford Mach-e will charge to full with it, no problem. Trying to charge the Tesla with...

Model S Plaid 0-100-0 (KPH) Testing

Absolutely! No complaints about the 0-100, particularly given less than ideal conditions, and that it was so repeatable that one could almost calibrate with it is crazy. What is somewhat concerning is the degradation in braking, and mostly, the behavior of the car when things got (literally)...

    Odd/Laggy Autopilot behavior with cross-traffic?

Noticed this a few times now, driving along on autopilot on a highway or two lane road where oncoming traffic turns left across my lane. What happens is that the car turns in front of me (usually quite far away, nothing I'd worry about were I driving manually), clears the lanes, and _then_...

    Model S Plaid Delivered! (Canada)

Took delivery of my plaid a few days ago, have spent the weekend with it and am getting used to its quirks and features, of which there are many. Yes, it has bugs on it, they seem to fit with the bugs in it ;). Because of coincidental timing my wife also recently took delivery of a mustang...

Model S Plaid 0-100-0 (KPH) Testing

Took my Model S Plaid out for some testing today, using a dragy secured in a cup holder. Figured the results may be interesting to someone else. What to expect in Canadian Cold?

Taking delivery of a MSP soon, just wondering what to expect when winter rolls around and if folk who have already braved our winters might be able to give me an idea.
