Model S, Creep mode, gear selection

My Wife traded her 2014 Model S for a 2014 Model S. Tesla transferred the free supercharging from the 14 to the 24 and there is a new supercharger only a few miles from our house so that, with the additional charge capacity has worked out very well. Selecting a gear on the touch screen is an...

Model S Center console - Can it be removed.

My Wife has been looking at a new Model S and is concerned about the center console. Her treasured 2014 Model S does not have one and she likes that very much because she has a place for her stuff. We looked at a Model S yesterday which has a center console. Can this be removed? The...

    12v Battery Change

My Wife's treasured '14 Model S displayed a 12 v battery fault. I considered changing the battery myself with the help of U-tube but ultimately called Tesla. A technician came to the house today and changed the battery in about 40 minutes. Fee was $223. I am quite satisfied.

    Door hinge attachment bolts.

I need to replace the driver's door upper hinge on my Wife's treasured Model S. Are the nuts that hold the hinge captured nuts or are they loose and destined to fall to the bottom of the door and A pillar when I remove the bolts. I have the exploded diagram for the door showing the hinges but...

    Charging Failure

Wife's treasured '14 Model S would not charge when connected at home. When connected, the port showed red and the screen stated "charging equipment fault". Wife called Tesla hot line which walked her thru a full reboot. No change. We planned to test charging at local super charger but I...

    Door hold open "click"

The driver's door on my Wife's treasured '14 Model S will "click" or "pop" as the hold open device engages or disengages at the end of the door opening travel. I can feel it when the detent snaps in or out of place. All fasteners are tight and the hinge has been lubricated with no change...

ACC responds to overhead freeway sign as it would a vehicle

The ACC of my dear Wife's '14 treasured Model S confuses an overhead freeway sign for a vehicle ahead. As a result the car applies the brakes vigorously for 2 or 3 seconds. A close-following car would probably collide. This happens about ten percent of the time and, apparently, at just one...

Apply parking brake at speed - effect

My Wife and I practice a drill for the passenger to take control of the car in an emergency. We have the procedure worked out, and drilled, for the S7 but not yet for the Tesla. There are some questions: What is the effect/result of applying the parking brake at speed? Have you actually done...

    Charging time changed by itself.

After sitting unplugged for about two weeks, the car changed the charging start time from 10 POST MERIDIAN to 10 ANTE MERIDIAN with no input from us. As a result, when plugged in, we had a full charge take place at the max rate of 45 cents per KWH (max daytime rate) instead of the super saver 9...

    Inconsistent Charging Rate

My Dear and Beloved Spouse has had her Model S -85 for six weeks. We charge at home with a 240v 50amp outlet during the super saver rate from midnight to 6 AM. The electric company gives us a nice set of graphs, etc. to help us monitor our usage. MOST the time the car charges at 9.4 KW as...

Trunk (rear) Does not latch fully.

Model S, 85, Tech Package My wife has had her car for about two weeks and has some areas of dissatisfaction. One is the rear trunk lid. Pressing the 'close' button on the trunk lid lowers it normally to the first 'latch' but it does not close all the way. It remains open about 1/4 inch. It...

Smart Air equipped ride height - Entry and Egress - Does it help??

My DABS (Dear And Beloved Spouse) has had the hots (!) for a Model S for more than a year. She has driven the car a few times, looked at it the showrooms a bunch of times, almost had accidents while looking at them on the freeway, and changed her mind about color several times. At issue...

What unique license plate do you have for your Tesla? What plates have you seen?? Today I was passed (!) by a black Tesla, black wheels, blacked out windows and possibly blacked out chrome. License plate was: DRACOLA E.

    Headroom in non-sunroof car.

How does the headroom in a non-sunroof car compare to a sunroof car? More head room? Less? The Sunroof cars have a 'bulge" between the outer edges of the sunroom and the tops of the door jambs. Is this 'bulge' present on a non-sunroof car?? I have not been able to look at a non-sunroof...
