Something else in favour of using immersion heater is that you can then reduce the flow temperature of your boiler (assuming you have big enough radiators to heat house on lower temp). This is beneficial because the boiler will run more efficiently, as it no longer needs to get the hot water...
We have a condensing heatpump dryer and it uses about the same amount as washing machine - around 1kwh for a load in each. Try to put the washing machine on in the evening, and then set the dryer to run overnight
