    [UK] Spring Software Update

I said over time. Care to elaborate? Try facts: +53% weight in 50 years... more than 400kg... A near doubling for the average country fleet in 30y : 1100 to 2000.... Btw: Have you found out from my previous reply how to play plex in fullscreen yet?

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Indeed. As cars are getting heavier (especially BEVs), speed reduction is the only element authorities can play on to minimise the severity of accidents with pedestrians. An impact at 21mph with a car weighting 2t gives off the same amount of kinetic energy than a 1t car used to at 30mph... Of...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

There was a talk of bringing it (soon) to USS cars using sensor fusion, so not disabling the USS entirely. This would be my preferred method, as USS can be a failsafe. If they report an obstruction less than 1 ft away, and Tesla Vision doesn't, then immediately aborting the autopark manoeuvre...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Agreed. Not planned in this release. But nevertheless the regulation on Speed Limiters will kick in from 7th of July so we know a software update has to come before that for Tesla cars to remain compliant. I don’t see them pushing a SW version only to cars sold after this date so it’s more than...

The workaround consists in sending any url you want through the YouTube app on the car to get it fullscreen Jump in your parked car and from the browser, visit this link and click Go To Site https://www.youtube.com/redirect?q=https://app.plex.tv/ Tell me what you think

    [UK] Spring Software Update

It's been already possible for a while thanks to the YouTube workaround, but yes for the sake of UI, better if we can do it outright

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Average Speed Camera is quite clever. I also welcome the Better Route Available dialog : on several occasions I manually selected a route on purpose, that might not have been the quickest, yet, the satnav override me silently, and before I could realise, I was no longer on my preferred route...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Yes, my understanding is from July, Tesla will have to push a speed limiter feature in a software update to remain compliant in EU/UK. It would be fairly easy to do, like having to press the "MAX SPEED" icon on the dash (taken from satnav + reading speed signs), have it turn, say, yellow, and...

Tesla MY Longe Range Increased Battery Pack

Oh I missed that news then (and haven't yet seen a quicksilver MY in the UK). Funny because Quicksilver was initially touted by Elon as only made possible thanks to Giga Berlin "most advanced paintshop in the world".

Tesla MY Longe Range Increased Battery Pack

Well, the difference is All Wheel Drive, so not just the speed but the general handling, Wet, Mud & Snow capabilities, etc... I'm still surprised it's a 12%+ improvement on range, as the AWD is supposed to be intelligently switching between Rear/Front to maximise range. Can't be just the weight...

Tesla MY Longe Range Increased Battery Pack

As mentioned above. Trazione posteriore = RWD If you look at the 3rd option "Trazione integrale", AWD, it's still 533 kms, our 331 miles WLTP. So they just did a RWD LR variant

Sentry mode is great until its not turned on and some one hits you

Sad. Unfortunately I've noticed accidents tend to happen only when you chose to or forgot to turn on Sentry.. Decided to keep Sentry always on except at home. Costs me probably between 50p - £1 / day (around 4kWh/day depending on charging costs) when travelling, but at least with a small hope...

    Anyone else’s iPhone widgets broken?

I've noticed that it often happens right after you update the Tesla app from the App Store. Coincidentally there was one released today, so I think that's your issue. And yes, a simple phone reboot fixes it.

    [UK] 2024.8.x

I’m starting to think it has to do with the size of the cohort. TeslaFi now reports that just 25% of the fleet is now on this update. I’m guessing Tesla are setting quotas then wait a few days/weeks to expand a release to a wider audience to mitigate any bugs.

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

is the newest rebranding from « FSD » to « FSD (Supervised) » a giant admission from Tesla that FSD was misleading for what will never be more than an L2 system? Any implications for people who purchased a « Full Self Driving » package and now have a (Supervised) moniker attached to it? I feel...

    Do you park in London?…Alert!!!!

Yes. In Westminster only. And it's not necessarily 4 hours, it's for the 'Max stay' length mentioned on the signs. Always check the signs. Also the RingGo app has made no arrangements to highlight the EV exemption, so you will be under the impression that you only bought 10 mins parking and...

    Do you park in London?…Alert!!!!

Not sure how long it typically takes inside but an hour of parking will still be marginally less expensive than a return tube fare. And depending of your projected SoC & need to return, you can use a Source London charger if there's one nearby. They are 60p/kWh but at least parking is...

    Do you park in London?…Alert!!!!

Westminster had an exemption where as an EV owner you could pay for just 10 mins and park for the maximum allowed time (usually 4 hours unless sign says otherwise). Effectively making it 96p for 4 hours, so 24p an hour. We shouldn't have grown to accustomed to that but it remains essentially a...

Yes I received the text too. We always knew it was too good to last forever. At least we've enjoyed it for a while.... As EVs are becoming mainstream sadly it makes sense that the early-adopter perks we had are going away... 2024 / 2025 will mark the end of all EVs incentives : discounted...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

But again I don't understand the logic of bringing a new feature on an 'older' branch. 8.4 had already been released by then so why bringing park assist as a minor update of 2.xx and not 8.xx ?? Especially as some non-USS are already on the newer one and will now have to wait for an 10.x or...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Yes, but unless you are extremely lucky, my point is your consumption figures shown above (28.64 kWh, 28.91 kWh, 28.97 kWh, 28.17 kWh) are oddly consistent. They are in fact based on a scale and do not reflect your actual usage for that particular date. Have you tried looking at days where you...

Even if it was REALLY good in its initial release, could it sway you/her towards buying the EAP add-on for your car? I don't know why Tesla hasn't extended the EAP/FSD monthly subscription to Europe instead of limiting it to the one-off £3.5k/£7k purchase...

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I must say I have a big issue with Tracker Gas, not once they have correctly billed be for my actual daily consumption. Instead they take two readings a month apart, and then apply an 'industry standard' profile to spread this monthy consumption into estimated daily figures. Meaning it's not a...

    Reliable non-Tesla granny charger needed

    Tap to park coming out

Slightly afraid we USS cars won’t get the improvement straight away, just like for Park Assist released 3+ months ago. While I appreciate non-USS cars with EAP/FSD are pretty much unusable and are priority, I hope we won’t wait too long for it

    [UK] Cool car tech

Just annoyed that it says non-USS only. Same for Vision Park Assist. There are no diffs in the onboard tech in the car so I would welcome it for cars with USS, it just takes a bit more of sensor fusion, where the car should abort on USS detecting an object (wouldn't be a bad thing for a...

    New Highland UK - stalks

I honestly don’t think that they moved the controls to the wheel primarily to save $2 on stalks. I believe in Elon’s mind, the decision was taken because it was neater and aesthetically more pleasing. He just has a complete disregard for ergonomics… how often does he drive his own cars anyway...
