1:18 Scale Diecast P85 Model S now in Tesla Store

Does the manual instruct you to close the frunk using one finger on each side of the frunk lid? Looks awesome.

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

How can the following statement on the Model S product page dated October 10, 2014 not be considered false marketing? "Changing lanes becomes as simple as a tap of the turn signal. When you arrive at your destination, Model S will both detect a parking spot and automatically park itself." I...

When does version 7.0 beta come out?

The new features including parallel parking where introduced in the beginning of October 2014. Almost 9 months ago. "Changing lanes becomes as simple as a tap of the turn signal. When you arrive at your destination, Model S will both detect a parking spot and automatically park itself." on the...

1:18 Scale Diecast P85 Model S now in Tesla Store

Oh, they have the carbon fiber trim and "current gen" seats. Let me know when i can get one in all black, with piano black trim and "next gen" seats in front and back. ;)

    Soft door closing

Super nice. They really should make this an option.

    Finally!

    Next gen seats for non-P85D

It's still a mess with the seats. Now you can only get next gen seats in the front, but at a lower price. Seems fair, but not to those who where told full price for fronts only, and accepted that. I wonder if they are redesigning the back seats, or just have a supply issue.

    Next Generation Headlights?

This! Gimme the new headlights when my Tesla starts production in about a month.

    self made aero wheels

I'm mostly into getting the best range at highway speeds and this trick sure seems like a very nice way of adding extra miles. Looking very much forward to you range tests.

Ride quality vs other luxury cars

It the replacement price of a battery pack not half this price? Have never seen this 45k pricepoint, but I might have missed it?

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

This was my soapbox. I was hoping others would agree on forcing a $20k upgrade to get next gen seats was unreasonable putting a bit of pressure on Tesla. I ended up getting a lot of constructive suggestions (thanks!) and some "Blasphemy! you are not worthy of a Tesla, go get your shi**y Audi"...

Tracking Model S 85D Delivery Thread

Do they always call you to confirm what you finalized just before production begins? That only seems fair when you have to wait months from order to production start.

Does anyone have the S85D yet?

I'm pretty sure the P85D should decrease and the (S)85D should increase on highway at least, as the (S)85D should be using the front motor alone at steady highway speeds. Well, that is what my Tesla sales rep told me anyways, but only time will tell.

Does anyone have the S85D yet?

I'm very curious about the supposed range increase. I'm getting a 85D primarily because of it, but could get the car months earlier if I chose to go for 2WD. Argh, all the choices.

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

Your first reply was very constructive and relevant, your second is a weird semi off topic personal attack mentioning me in third person. Sorry I don't find your lovely car perfect in all areas. - - - Updated - - - I did not train in the US, therefore my bad English (sorry for that btw, third...

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

The last remark was made with a wink in the eye that some of the more devoted Tesla supporters seemed to have missed. I guess I will have to edit in a  not to offend anyone. Coming back from a test drive where the Tesla rep. told me the Next Gen seats are much more comfortable, but that...

Great. Didn't know Tesla had commented on this already.

Thanks for your input, but being a neurologist/endocrinologists I can rule that out.

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

Interesting. The Tesla rep, who btw. is a young man, told me he thinks the Next Gen seats are much more comfortable than the current gen. My local Tesla branch does not have the a car with Next Gen seats on display yet so I haven't tried them myself, but was under the impression they are much...

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

Did the loaner P85D have Next Gen seats? I was under the impression the next gen seats are softer/better padding in addition to the extra lateral support.

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

Yeah, I'm 100% with you here, but waiting for Tesla to add the next gen option in an unknown amount of weeks/months is nerve-racking, hence the thread. I would rather have them add the option and then add the extra weeks/months to the expected delivery date so we could make an informed...

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

Are you saying I will be disappointed in a Tesla for commenting on the high repair cost and sub-standard (IMO) seats in other threads? That is hardly fair as I think many agree with me on this. I love all the Telsa enthusiasm as much as everyone else, but nothing is perfect and can improve with...

Not paying extra $20.000 for decent seats in a $100k car.

I'm buying a Tesla and have the money saved. I went to test drive an S 85 again with "current" seats and I can't imagine sitting in them for a very long time. It's like sitting on pins and even the cheapest Audi's has better seats. Not a problem, the NEXT GEN seats are here! Well, not really...

Tesla Model S - expected lifespan? 5-10-15 years.....

Calculating on keeping the car for 30-40 years to make the numbers make sense is very dangerous. 1. Repair cost beyond the warranty could be massive. Have you seen some of the repair bills posted here? Where else can you go and get your car serviced and buy parts but from Tesla. 2. Battery is a...

Next-gen REAR seats no longer available for new orders, please post feedback on yours

I wonder how many potential buyers are holding back because of the whole sh**ty seat situation. I know I am. Super low gas prices does not help Tesla either. Looks like i could have a new order delivered in 2 months. Don't remember delivery ever being this fast? Hope they will be getting their...

Next-gen REAR seats no longer available for new orders, please post feedback on yours

What a mess. Who the hell would want mismatched seats in a $100k+ car. Oh yeah, the seats could not fold flat, we forgot about that, so now you get a half-rolled-back product with differently styled seats and you still have to pay full price! Awesome, right?

    S85 Order: Opinion Needed

I'm in the same boat as you and decided to order a S85 over a P85D. I decided to wait for better seats. Next Gen seats will be Current Gen seats in all models soon (I'm pretty sure), and you will regret you didn't wait.

Next-gen REAR seats no longer available for new orders, please post feedback on yours

They need to make all front seats delivered in all Teslas "next gen" and remove the insane price for upgraded seats.

    Price comparison chart between countries

First off, I did mean Model S 85 (not P) at $126.000, but I can't edit my post because I am a new member. There are some issues buying for export in Holland, getting plates and insurance where i don't live, and transferring everything to Denmark. It's quite a unnecessary hassle I would like to...

    Price comparison chart between countries

Thanks for the information. I'm completely annoyed by the fact that we in Denmark have to pay €4000 more compared to our neighbors in Germany to the south, before we add 25% VAT and they add 19% VAT. I know Tesla has nothing to do with the VAT difference, but matching prices would level out the...
