Correct, the car that I had the VIN for was released into their local inventory (and sold a day or so later). They won't put me back in line for another car until June 10th. Yep. That's what i was told.

If you’re within 1000 miles of whatever it says you should be ok. If your outside of that 1000 miles and/or been 30+ days they’ll do another quote.

You can inspect the outside. Doors won't unlock until you pay for it. So you can't test drive it first or really inspect the interior at all.

If your getting FSD, and the car doesn't have it yea you may want to deny delivery and wait for another car. If you don't care about FSD then I don't think it makes much difference.

Near as I can tell, they firm it up during the week before your delivery. (noticed all my numbers on my trade changed last night by a couple hundred dollars)

They travel by rail, and take 2-3 days usually. Then a truck picks it up to bring it to whatever Tesla center near you. They're fast coming from Austin though i've heard compared to Fremont.

After your order you'll start getting text messages, reply to those (thats your SA I guess). I ordered from a local store but the guy i worked with I don't believe is my SA.

Once your VIN is assigned you'll get another window. You can work with the SA then on working out that timeframe I believe.

I believe both Austing and Fremont are making about 5k cars a week, majority are Model Y's.
